View Full Version : Some position's that still can be filled.
TheDuckOfFlanders Mar 28, 2002, 11:45 AM All the leader possition's are taken ,except for the position for millitary leader as the person Grey Fox has nominated has yet to show up here.In addition only one deputy position has been filled ,and the vice president position is still open.Preferably i would want these position's to be filled.
croxis Mar 28, 2002, 01:32 PM How much time is needed to be in a higher position? Do I have to be online a lot or would once a day for an hour work? Real life sucks ;-)
Bill_in_PDX Mar 28, 2002, 02:21 PM I nominate eyrei for Vice President.
He has shown great initiative in the early stages forming this game, and he would make a fine second in command to the much respected Grey Fox.
Bill
Knight-Dragon Mar 28, 2002, 07:22 PM I'll nominate joespaniel to be the War Leader if Charis still didn't turn up. Charis is probably too heavily into succession games at the moment. :)
Did anyone PM Charis? Is he aware of this?

Well Eyrei got me as fourth...
EDIT: Caris has registred, so he will be the Military Leader if he wants too... :D
Charis Mar 29, 2002, 01:20 AM Sorry my fellow department heads. I was busy planning and watching the invasion of (once mighty) Sussex. Shaitan brought it off nicely, cutting the country in two, rushing and securing an airport, wiping out one of their allies, demolished their navy, and eradicated their air force.
Exactly as planned
A solid training exercise for the upcoming demo exercise...
... SHOULD any foe choose to get in our way!
I would like to appoint joespaniel and Knight-Dragon as deputies in the Military Department, with chain-in-command authority to act should I be killed or detained. :hammer:
Charis
Pggar Mar 29, 2002, 10:51 AM I wouldn't mind being the Science Deputy.
Civinator seems to be always present, so I won't have much to do. :D
If anyone else is interested, I wouldn't mind to step back either.

I am flattered by the support of my countrymen in my continued quest for absolute power.:p I am also quite happy we have a historian. We do still need a deputy domestic leader.... Also, what shall we call our capital?
Can I hold both the domestic advisor and vice president positions? I thought the VP had a vote on the cabinet. Not that I would mind having two votes, but it wouldn't be very democratic. Given the choice, I think I would prefer domestic leader to begin the game.
Benjamin Miller Mar 30, 2002, 11:50 PM I'll apply for a deputy dipomacy/foreign affairs position. Diplomacy is one of my favourite parts of civ3 :D
gonzo_for_civ Mar 31, 2002, 12:20 AM Hello, I just got here! I didn't even know a Civ3 game had been created! I was just wondering one thing though, what will keep the members in here so that we don't take a huge member dip like the Civ II Demo game??

Everyone will get cake.
Justus II Mar 31, 2002, 01:05 AM I will be the Deputy Culture Minister, if it's still open. I think it will be interesting, since there really was no position in the Civ2 version, to see how this department will interact with the others.
Culture affects so many areas: Borders, both for domestic and miltary reasons, science (the best culture producers are the sci improvements and wonders), and also the happiness ones. It will be interesting!

You're hired!
Welcome to the department of Foreign Affairs.
Duck, please add Ben to the official list.
marshalljames Mar 31, 2002, 07:10 AM I'm applying for deputy of domestic affairs.Be forewarned I like to mine everything in sight...
TheDuckOfFlanders Mar 31, 2002, 10:10 AM I am also quite happy we have a historian.
And i will alow more than one historian.A history thread will be made for our nation and the historian can post part's of our nation's history.

You raise a point. If you would hold both job's you would still get only one vote. The Vp is actually only the backup of the president ,it's not an actual job ,but it take's an experienced person to do it.As thus i think the Vp is preferably already a member of the cabinet. In fact i think i gona make it a rule that only a cabinet member can be the Vp ,wich will make it interresting for the cabinet member's to get this second position.Afterall ,if the president is absent he would be president ,wich would give him an extra power to override other leader's.
If you don't like that idea then just tell me. ;)
We can hold a cabinet vote around it if nessecary. (yes this must be decided by cabinet vote rather than public poll)

Woohoo! I've been deputized! :D
Chieftess Mar 31, 2002, 12:03 PM I'd problably become one soon, but maybe after I'm a governer(ess). :) You can tell my style of play by my sig. (Passive Isolationist Perfectionist), though I can turn on the aggressive play (atleast for a city! ;) ) if it comes down to that.

In that case, can I become a historian?? I think that would be fun, I could also make us a small webpage to store things from our history in addition to that thread. Or.. we could just stick to the thread ;) EIther way..
Ah well, I'm looking forward to this game, sounds neat.
we were hoping you would use your radar artillery, gonzo
Ok :D
Grey Fox Mar 31, 2002, 04:34 PM Yea, you will get some cake Gonzo...
Silverbolt Mar 31, 2002, 08:43 PM Woo, about time to get started on this! Dunno if this is supposed to go here, but I'd like to toss my name in the hat for a future governorship (when we reach the appropriate size, that is). Looking forward to the game! :D :king: :D :hammer:

This information can be found in the presidential thread. There is a screenshot and a save game you can download, as long as you do not play any turns. I believe all the positions are currently filled, but there will be elections at the end of the month. Welcome to the game.
Cyc Apr 07, 2002, 02:55 PM read the presidents thread and then maybe the cultural dept thread.
donsig Apr 12, 2002, 07:11 AM Now that the Great War versus the Domino Alliance is upon us it is time to mobilize the citizenry!
I urge the cabinent members to 'hire' any help they need in their respective departments. The cabinet members are department heads who should be formulating policy and briefing the president. They need data and information to be able to do this and should be allowed to have assistants or deputies as they see fit to gather needed information for them. We can have different levels in our administration.
An example I can think of is in the domestic department. Each city could have a mayor who is responsible for his or her city. One thing they could do is monitor which tiles are being worked in their particular city and could brief their province's governor on the different possibilities. The governor's in turn would filter the mayors' input and brief the domestic advisor who in turn would filter that info and brief the president.
I'm sure there are possibilities for each department. In this way two things are acheived. First, more information could be gathered, it could be better organized and (it is hoped) the important points will reach the president for implementation. Second, this would give more citizens 'somethig to do' and hopefully get more involved.
The particular idea about mayors could add fun to the game as each city could hold it's own elections for mayor. Mayor's could also be appointed by the governors or the president. Patronage would be born in Phoenatica!
