Vietcong Nov 16, 2006, 12:09 AM lol..
i just saw this on a show.. and it realy points out how ignorant ppl are..
a booth was set up at some kinda gathering *a fair maby, im not too sure* with a big banner and singes saying help stop the womans sufferage. and handing out bages with a 19 and it marked out..
thay are trying to get ppl to singe a pation to "end womans sufferage"
thay dont explain what it is exacly to them.. and ask them too singe a potion to end womans sufferage. and thay get lines of ppl wanting to singe up!! only one man is aperantly smart enofe to know what it is and storms away cussing them out....
lol
Cheezy the Wiz Nov 16, 2006, 12:09 AM Where is this, VC?
Godwynn Nov 16, 2006, 12:11 AM This is really sad and depressing information to me. :(
Eran of Arcadia Nov 16, 2006, 12:11 AM I heard they did this on "The Man Show" once.
I agree. Voting is so unladylike.
Vietcong Nov 16, 2006, 12:12 AM yea thats it. the man show.
SuperBeaverInc. Nov 16, 2006, 12:13 AM I remember seeing this once. It was quite funny.
Cheezy the Wiz Nov 16, 2006, 12:14 AM Wait, I re-read the OP and I get it now.
That sounds like Trigger Happy TV. It's funny in concept, but very sad that people don't know what they're talking about.
It reminds me of a website that Turner put up about the dangers of Monohydrgen Dioxide.
Bugfatty300 Nov 16, 2006, 12:15 AM Its from an old Man Show episode.
Heh. I saw that episode years ago but I'm laughing out loud now just remembering it.

Dihydrogen monoxide. It sounds more deadly, and it's the correct chemical formula. H2O as opposed to HO2. Fun stuff. Exploitations of ignorance for the purpose of humor are one of the few things that make me grind my teeth in rage and laugh out loud at the same time.

Can you tell who doesn't study Chemistry?
*raises hand*
Or maybe it's that it's 130AM.
I'll tell you what, it was a well done website, though, an excellent example that just because something looks legit doesn't mean that it is.

The green party in New Zealand wanted to ban dihydrogen monoxide.
Although they also want to ban just about everything else (incl. soft drinks, takeaway foods, air travel, smacking....)
Moved to H&J
And here is a youtube video of this... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUP9Jm9SqvY)
Chandrasekhar Nov 16, 2006, 02:52 AM Heh, nice vid. Makes me wonder if the amount of people that knew what women's suffrage was was accurately represented, but I get a sad feeling that it was. The best part is that the "host" seems to be having so much fun doing this... man, I ought to make a similar video.
Panda Nov 16, 2006, 11:38 AM 'Thank you so much, you're a true American!'
A pity it doesn't worl in Finnish. :(
Louis XXIV Nov 16, 2006, 11:59 AM I was about to say that someone did the exact same thing at one of my friend's school. Then I find out its the same school. Padua is an all-girls school in Delaware (I'm pretty sure its in Wilmington, but I'm not sure). I didn't recognize anyone I knew (I wonder how long ago this happened). My friend probably already knows about this, but I'm sure she'd be the first person to admit that there are a lot of stupid people at this school (then again, there are a lot of stupid people everywhere ;) ).

The clip has got to be at least 3-4 years old
Louis XXIV Nov 16, 2006, 02:48 PM Next time I see someone from Padua, I'll ask them if they know. :)
