View Full Version : BABE Poll: Barbarian Setting
Tubby Rower Nov 18, 2006, 11:15 AM mmm hmm . .
Please discuss and have the UN vote in the following poll: What barbarian level do you want?
None
No men in white. No goody huts.
Sedentary
No men in white, but there are goody huts (note - it's still possible to spawn barbarians from a goody hut).
Roaming
Restless
Raging
Random
Abstain
BCLG100 Nov 18, 2006, 11:19 AM voted none- i dont like how some folk can get a tech while others get crap :)
Tubby Rower Nov 18, 2006, 11:26 AM voted Raging just for a little extra fun
Beorn-eL-Feared Nov 18, 2006, 12:36 PM Raging would cool down the AGRs' lust for food pumps
Tubby Rower Nov 18, 2006, 12:37 PM zachary ;)
gmaharriet Nov 18, 2006, 05:26 PM I'm just throwing out a thought here. Although raging has the most votes currently, it only has a plurality...not a majority...indicating that the majority prefers at the very least less active barbs.
Seems like the actual winning setting could be determined by a rating system with:
0 = no barbs
1 = sedentary
2 = roaming
3 = restless
4 = raging
Then add up the total points and divide by the number of voters to get an average. If the average were, lets say 3, it would mean the UN vote would be for restless. Slightly less agressive barbs might be somewhat more acceptable to those who prefer none at all. :hmm:
Anyway, I voted roaming.
Tubby Rower Nov 19, 2006, 07:45 AM Raging can't lose since 12 of the 13 votes have been cast and it's winning by more than one
Beorn-eL-Feared Nov 19, 2006, 08:19 AM I will advantage us, grandma, and then we'll know what to prepare for and what to expect. Slowing down the expansion of AGR civs could be really valuable.
Whomp Nov 19, 2006, 09:01 AM Voted raging due to the advantages presented.

No, on a poll of this type it should be an average unless one item has an actual majority. Restless would be the average vote.
However there was a post in the main forum about someone from another team not wanting to average. The only recourse in the UN vote would be a runoff poll, maybe we should do that here.
I'm not sure why raging is a benefit for us. If we can take steps to prepare, then everyone can, so where's the advantage? The only thing it really does is require a big military even for those who don't want one.
Tubby Rower Nov 19, 2006, 11:27 AM awe crap... more complications!!

Well, it's just a darned good thing that I'm not likely to be the turn-player. I'll go hide my eyes while someone else does battle with them. Let me know when it's all over. :lol:
