So I just add it to my list, and find another. I have 26 webcomics I check regularly and another 20 or so whose archives I am working through. Syterion Apr 25, 2007, 07:20 PM Ok I didn't see any Achewood despite it being one of the best webcomics ever. It's characters are so well developed that it takes time to get into it, but its definitely worth it. I made a thread about it with some of my favorite comics. It is at achewood.com. The thread is: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=215327 It is amazing once you invest yourself. Most webcomics are trash in comparison. Eran of Arcadia Apr 25, 2007, 07:33 PM It is amazing once you invest yourself. Most webcomics are trash in comparison. Okay, that's a little harsh. I mean, there are a lot of well written and/or well drawn comics out there. Syterion Apr 25, 2007, 08:31 PM Well Achewood isn't well drawn but it's clean and functional and you can tell all the characters apart, if not from the visuals from the style of speaking. It's just that Achewood has this novelistic character development combined with surrealism (which I think is the most challenging thing to write) and just great dialogue. I haven't seen a webcomic come close. I had heard good things about Diesel Sweeties but it was only ok, and Penny Arcade greatly disappointed, to me it was predictable. I like Ctrl-Alt Delete so far, and Read Meat looks pretty good, but besides that I can't find much that even comes close to Achewood. Eran of Arcadia Apr 25, 2007, 08:46 PM How is this (http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20040913.html) for subverting a common cliché? http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/1100/schlock20040913vo1.png Kan' Sharuminar Apr 25, 2007, 08:56 PM Not so much the jokes, but I loves the black and white contrast, and really want to emulate it sometime: http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5607/aglite130gq8.jpg http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/83/013ed8.gif Syterion Apr 26, 2007, 01:49 PM http://achewood.com/index.php?date=04092003 Pure Achewood. The whole "Meeting Nice Pete" is a great story arc as well.
