Last night Isaac Galvez (http://www.zesdaagse.be/), a Spanish professional cyclist with Spanish team Illes Balears, died during the 'Six Days of Ghent' (track racing) after a very bad fall. During the Team Race (Isaac Galvez and his team-mate Juan Llaneras are World Champions in this event) Galvez and Belgian cyclist Dimitri De Fauw touched eachother at high speed. De Fauw fell down the track, but Galvez fell against the railing and then into the crowd. He died on his way to the hospital.
Galvez was also a good cyclist on the road. This year he won several stages in a race in Mallorca and he won the 'Four days of Dunkirk'.
Last thursday I saw him live in the Six Days of Ghent (Ghent being my hometown) and now he is dead. It's hard to grasp.... :(
