I think the font required is on the CD. Try copying it over. It's LSANS.fon.

It'll be on your Civilization III disc.

civ3 on its own plays
PTW works as well.
conquest still same error....is it cuz the text files on Conq are different compared to the others?

Try copying that file to the Conquests dir as well. I have it in both places.

Turner, thanx for that piece of advice :) found the lsans.fon which wasnt in either the PTW or CIV3 normal folder so deleted that from the list on conq. and all works now :D :D D: :D

Vista? You mean the Beta version? They haven't released it yet.

Highland... have a look at the piccie that I just attached for you.

Vista full version was released to MSDN account holders (os and full) on the 16th of November.

this what I'm using is the full Home Premium version and I also got Ultimate on another machine :D

Hi Levig,

When you say "deleted that from the list on conq." what exactly did you do? I'm struggling with the same problem.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

you have to go to where your Conquest folder is, you should see a file there lsans.fon in the list of files. that you would have to delete.

also 1 little issue that I have found with that is that in the game now all the text for your cities is a bit pink/purple ish but its working fine.

also Dave if you have edited your conquests.biq file you might have issues with this....if you do tell me and I'll show you where the faults are.

That's great, many thanks.

(I had a lsans.fot rather than lsans.fon file - deleting it worked just fine).

So, now for some Christmas Conquesting! :)

I am experiencing a nearly identical problem with the released Business version of Vista, except the lsans.fon file, as well as the lsans.fot file are present in all three seperate game folders, and deleting them does nothing.

other suggestions?

I actually managed to figure this one out!

The problem did not lie within the font or the font file, but within the access privileges. In order to do anything with fonts with the standard Vista permissions, one needs administrative privileges.

Vista is stopping Civ from accessing the font file.

I repaired this issue by right-clicking on Civ3Conquests.exe in the Conquests directory, choosing properties, and making sure that there are checks next to "Run in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode" *and* Run as Administrator.

This cleared it right up.
