View Full Version : AI always accepts your deals.

By the way, I don't like modding and changing scenario files, I like editing .exe-files

For Civilization 3 v1.29f

Civilization3.exe

Change offset B66F1 on E9 D9 01 00 00 90

I mean, when you demand something from AI, he always accepts your deals.

Patch does it for you(save the backup of Civilization3.exe!) http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=143353&d=1164922386

May be this is not very handy(though very funny - to take cities from another civs), but may be there is something useful or interesting, that can be changed in Civilization3.exe?

Hi Skyer2,

it´s great that you want to help us. :band:   Skyer, the first, did some great things for gameplay in Civ 2 and if you could improve gameplay for Civ 3 this would be an outstanding day for the Civ 3 -community. At present we use Civ 3 Conquests.

There were rumours about a new expansion for Civ 3 -that did never come ( only a sampler with old civ stuff) but a lot of people posted what they would like to be improved in Civ 3.

You can read it here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=181825
and here:http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=188128

If you could disable the option for city razing, this would be a dream.
The same if you could fix the submarine bug in C3C (that was fixed in an old patch for Civ 3 (vanilla or PTW ?)
Somebody posted, that the proper use of an Army in C3C could be easily fixed as firaxis only mixed up two positions in the code, if the position for the army-unit is known in the code.

Agreed with Civinator. If you could disable city razing and other stuff discussed in that thread he posted, it would be absolutely wonderful!!!!

Keep doing this, it's great if you find something useful!

The main problem is the city razing. That would be my first target. If you can do that, we all would give you the Nobel Price (if we could).

What is the problem with City Razing? It is not a bug, but strategy.

I would much rather the actual bugs be fixed. I am fine with an option to turn it off, but like corruption and pollution it is there for a reason, and turning them off just dumbs the game down IMO. I want more options and features, not less.

Fix the sub bug. Fix the resource overflow bug. There are countless others....

Of course, without corruption a lot of the game would be lost. :)

It would be wonderful if the following bugs would be fixed:
Resource overflow
Submarine
Army (the AI can't control it)
And many others..

And if we could change the limitations of the editor...... Which I know that is hard coded.

Definately city razing.
Possibly how the AI does naval combat, although that would be a real chore.

MIRC the editor exe would also then have to be hacked.

No razing patch is very easy to create(patch, where cities size 1 are not destroyed is already created), but I need circumstances, where AI is willing to raze those cities:)

Then. Please decode your wishes:) I don't understand, what is resourse overflow, submarine, etc:)

And of course, what are the limitations in editor.

Hi Skyer2, I never have seen the patch against City-size 1-razing ( we call it autorazing). Can you post it here at CFC?

The circumstances for autorazing were cleared out. This is not so with normal city razing. The last discussion about city razing is here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=194179

To the limitations in the editor: In the thread with the link above, we had a discussion that there doesn´t exits a "No-Raze"-button. But something similar, that has to do with city razing exists in the editor: In the scenario properties register, there exists a special victory condition, that when you catch one city of a civ, all cities of this civ are razed, the citygraphics replaced by ruins and the civ is eliminated (posts 29 and 30 of the thread above -thanks Ozy for pointing at this option).

Here this should do if you still need one. The AI razed a half dozen or so cities that were above size 40, I think 40. I know they were well above size one

Would a modified save-game work, 'cuz I could make a mod with a city that has a wonder with Negative 1000 culture or something...

Hi MarineCorps, the savegamefile isnīt attached.

Seems to be a problem with the upload system. It won't allow me to upload the sav regardless of what format it's in.

I tried that. It refused to upload it. Sav, rar, and zip all rejected

Please mail me the savegame file as a Zip-file. Than I post it in this thread. I just made an upload test with the attache function and don´t have any problems.

But may be your zipped savegame file is too big and hits the upload limit.

Skyer2, here is the savegame file of MarineCorps.:)

Edited: The linked zip-file always disappears when the post is reopened. It seems that at present the upload function at CFC doesn´t work as it should. Steph had uploading problems too with his beautiful new unit
"Napoleonic light artillery 2006-12-01".
