I've started working on a scenario editor for civ3, very basic at the moment.

Check it out at:

http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46213

Features:

Import save games to view the map ( use cursor keys to move around ).

And another thing I've done is an option to save out an image with the palette arrange so that you can work with it, without worrying about the civ colours.

I've got moving units around on the map, and that'll be released soon, no more entering x and y's for tile postions.

Cheers.
James.

It just crashes when I run it. My machine is a K6-2 380 MHz with 184MBs of RAM.

Just wondering, what language is this written in? I'm hoping it works, as that would make everybody's life easier.

Did you unzip it or did you just run it from the zip file???

Did you not get into it atall???

I take it you have DirectX installed, since you probably play civ3.

And it was written in C++.

I crashes when ever I open a save game. And I did unzip it.

I have fixed a few things with loading save games which will be in the next release, probably some time over the weekend.

You'll also be able to move units around the map and edit some of there properties.

P.S If you want to have a look at map when it's loaded try playing just a random map and then loading that it. I think the crashing only happens when loading in save game where the they came from a map made with the civ3 editor.

Do you really have to dig up a thread that is 2 years old!

Oh, you're still around Jimmyh? Cool.

Anyway, I admire anyone who can write any type of program. Good job!
