Similiar to the one Redalert was working on before his dissapearence:

It should include the lands of the Incans as did the orginal Mesoamerican conquest.

Hmmm, maybe cropping a map might work.

Could someone do that for me?

I'm very tired tonight, but I'll take a look at the links tomorrow. If want me to work on a map for you, I can probably make one for you - a lot faster than the Asia map, which involved a lot of the process of learning techniques I won't have to repeat. If there's a preexisting map that can be cropped that's even faster.

There are plenty of maps of North and South america that you can use Blue, thanks in advance comrade. Just look around in the map board.

It would help, even if I'm going to crop a pre-existing, to know roughly the area you want included. Most helpful would be either an upper-left and lower-right set of latitude and longitude (those can be big round numbers, don't need minutes and seconds) to "set the box" of the included area, or a quick and dirty thumbnail map (like the equivalent of what I posted here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3692473&postcount=141) or here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3705584&postcount=172)).

Edit: Also, I need to know roughly the dimensions (in tiles) of the map you want to end up with.

Edit 2.0: Can you post a link to RedAlert's work?

I saw that post; I thought maybe he had posted the actual map somewhere. Is the region you want identical to that (for example - no north coast of the Gulf of Mexico)? What scale do you want (50 x 50, 100 x 100, etc.)?

100x100 would be excellent if possible Blue. And yes that general area is what I'm aiming for. Thanks again.

Ok, here's a zip with four maps/biqs. These are just cropped versions of other people's work from the CivFan dl db. So the names are just "cropped" + the original name. Let me know what you think; what refinements that you want.

I am creating a map pack for DR. All of the other maps I am doing for it are 180x180, but if you really want 100x100 I'll do it.

Just so you know, I build these maps by
- getting a satellite photo
- cropping the photo to the proper size
- recolor each pixel one by one using the bmptobic utilities pallete
- convert to bic using bmptobic
- convert to biq using Civ3Edit
- tweak terrain by visually comparing map and photo. Volcanoes and marsh all need to be added manually.

This is how I did the hawaiian map in my sig as well as the columbian map in that thread. I am also doing another of southern california, and the fictitious island from the TV show Lost. All will be in the DR map pack.

So.... I'll do this too :P
