View Full Version : The Indian Empire
sealman Apr 02, 2002, 11:20 AM A long, long time ago a small tribe of people, who called themselves the Indians, decided to forgo the nomadic lifestyle and founded the settlement of Delhi on the banks of the Club river. As the years past, the Indian elders watched their town grow and prosper and they developed a method to convert those purplish colored berries into a find beverage. The Great Indian Wineries were established.
The Indians decided to expand and explore the lands around them. The Great Indian Rainforest was discovered to the north and a few outpost towns were established while explorers mapped the interior reaches of the massive jungle.
To the South, the Indians discovered a wide variety of land types and the sites for some great future cities. In the Southeast, a group of Indian warriors came across a strip of fertile plains between some rolling hills. As the a messenger was sent back to Delhi about this promising city site, an group of men were sighted in the distance. The two group approached each other cautiously but no one spoke the others language. After days of painful discussions, it was determined that these people called themselves ‘English’ and were from a city called London, a few days to the east. The English and Indians provided each other with some scholars so that they could learn each others languages.
The Indian Elders realized the importance of this meeting and decided to quickly establish a city in the rolling hills. The city of Bangalore was founded both as a trading post between the Indians and English and to keep an eye on possible English aggression. The Elders were not totally naive on the relative new science of Global Politics.
The city of Bangalore continued to grow while the Indians further settled all lands to the west. One day, a Indian patrol came across an English warrior escorting an English Settler to points west. Word was sent to England to remove these forces. The English declared war and the Indian troops flooded out of Bangalore to capture the English settler and to destroy the warrior.
The Indians and English are now in the first known war.

heh, nice story. Keep it coming!
sealman Apr 02, 2002, 01:06 PM Before the war was too old, and English army moved westward from London to lay siege to the Indian city. The English were more advanced than their Indian neighbors and boasted a larger army. The Indians knew that they could not take this war to England and had to fight defensively. All available troops were rushed to the defense of the great city. The only exception being the regular warrior troops plunging through the Rainforest breaking up barbarian camps.
The siege of Bangalore was bloody, English warriors and Bowmen flooded across the border and threw themselves on the walls of the city. The slopes of Bangalore city run red with the blood of English warriors and Indian defenders. The English withdrew and resorted to pillaging Indian improvements to the east while reinforcements were brought up from London.
The English once again advanced on Bangalore and this time tried to surround the city. English bowmen move north and are met on the hills by Indian warriors supported by spearmen and the English are once again thrown back. English warriors move across the plains to the south and are ambushed by Indian Archers who capture another English settler and once again the English are thrown back. As the second English invasion begins to limp back towards London, the Bangalore Garrison Troops counterattack and pick off the English stragglers.
Before the Third English Attack begins, a messenger arrives under a flag of truce. He bears with him a note asking for peace and gold.. The Indians know that the English army is bleeding themselves on the rich fertile plain and that Indian reinforcements are arriving each day. The Indians turn down the offer and the English attack resumes. Once again the English attempt to take the city by force and once again, the attack is repulsed. Time has now come for an Indian offensive.
At this time, the Indian Army is not organized in any sense of the word. But a young man from the city has proven himself capable of leading armed men in battle. This man can trace his family back to the founding of Bangalore and in fact, the city is named after one of his forefathers. His name, Janus Bangalore.
Janus marches an army of Bowmen, Spearmen and primitive rock throwing machine, called a catapult towards the English border town of Liverpool. As this first Indian Army marches into English territory, Peace is reached. The English agree to pay some damage in the form of a gold tribute for a number of years. Janus, turns his men towards home wondering if he could have taken the city.
sealman Apr 02, 2002, 01:15 PM By the way, the game is on regent level (third level) on a large map with the max civs. I am playing a mod, I belive it is the LWC mod but not 100% sure (any way to check).
EDIT: It has been speculated that this is the GOVERN AND MAKE WAR Mod and not the LWC
Barbarians are at max, enemies are random as was my civ. Had to restart because I could not be the Babylonians (even though the starting location looked good.) Playing achipeligo at 70%.
The mod that I am playing needs hemp to build ships therefore I have only had contact with the English although I do believe that the Japanese are across the straights.
Anyone who wishes to be in the story, just let me know. Hopefully I can finish this one and not leave people hanging like in Death of an Empire (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16897).
Bad news is that I will not be able to wage a holy war against those Babylonians because I do not think that they are here.
Hamlet Apr 02, 2002, 01:51 PM Can I be in it?
Keep it up, btw.
Ambrost Apr 03, 2002, 07:48 AM great writing, keep it up
btw, can i be in as well
sealman Apr 04, 2002, 10:19 AM As peace settled upon the Bangalore plain, the Indian citizens ventured out to find their missing and bury their dead. Janus marched his men into the hills and began a vigorous training schedule so that is and when the war resumes, the Indians will be better prepared. Although hostilities have ceased, English paid Mercenaries continue to ravage the countryside. Janus sends one of his top students, Hamlet out to dispatch the English Mercenaries.
Hamlet was given a couple of warriors, spearmen and bowmen to counter this latest example of English aggression. During the next few months, Hamlet and his men engage in a guerilla war against the English thugs. Them men under Hamlet’s command continue to gain experience as they surround and eliminate the enemy. One hot and sticky August morning, a band of English Mercenaries catch one of Hamlet’s elite units out in the open on the plains. A fierce fight erupts and the pitched battle rages all day. The Indians fight hard but are slowly being overwhelmed against the English. With help too far to the south, the Indians slowly give ground. The Indian Captain, Sanji, is cut down and the Indians are about to run when a young man by the name of ******* picks up Sanji’s club and knife. He points to the east where a group of Indian Women are plowing the fields while their men fight the English. The men know that if they run, their women and families will be at the mercy of the English. The Indians rally and refuse to give more ground. As the sun sets, the Indian warriors remain on the field while the surviving English limp home. The rest of Hamlet’s troops arrive early the next day but the English have fled. Hamlet returns to Bangalore after the hard fought summer and his warriors turn over their clubs for shiny new Swords.
The Elders in Delhi are please with the results of Janus and Hamlet and name Janus as head of all Indian Military Forces. Hamlet is given the title of General and is given the task of prevent further English aggression. ********* is given command of the First Indian Corp, an army made up of 3 of Hamlet’s Sword Regiments.

Meanwhile, on the slopes of Minas Tirith and the banks of the Club River, High Priest Arathorn and his scholarly priest construct a great library of learning. Researchers, scientists and historians from all lands are welcome to come to study and learn. Arathorn and his priests also use the library as a means to steal knowledge from other civilizations, both friends and enemy. Although the library is still young, the Elders believe that the knowledge reaped from this endeavor will one day be of great service. Presently, the only Scholars that have taken advantage of the services of the Library are from either Rome or England. The Great Indian Explorer, Ambrost, hopes to change that.
__
With the discovery of Rome, across the channel informs the Elders that they and the English are not the only two civilized cultures on the planet. "We must find other people who are willing to assist us should the English come back," demands Janus. "We must send people out across the waters to find more land and people." A call is sent out across the empire for volunteers who are willing to leave India and search for others. A young fisherman from Calcutta, Ambrost, hears the proclamation and quickly makes his way to Delhi. "I have a sturdy boat and tough crew. My men and I will set sail as soon as you hear the word. I also have brothers, who given boats and crews, will also be willing to set to sea."
Ambrost is given permission to begin exploring the seas and begins sailing north along the Eastern Coast. After rounding Barbarian Cove, Ambrost sights land and is met by a people known as Aztecs. He names the island, Azteca. He also sights a small island to the south of Azteca. He lands a small scouting party on the island and names it Sri Lanka. A source of Iron is found on the mountain and word is sent back to Delhi for settlers so that India will have two sources of Iron instead of the one source in the middle of the Rainforest.
sealman Apr 04, 2002, 10:26 AM I can not remember the name of the GL generated during the fights with the English Mercenaries so I inserted *******. When I learn of the name, I will replace it. If the Mercenaries is any clue as to whose Mod I am currently playing, I would like to know. There are two extra resources that I am aware of: Hemp - strategic and used for boats and Tobacco - luxary. I am glad that I am the Indians because I have no source of Horses, neither to the English :D, or Romans for that matter. The Aztecs have 1 horse so none to spare. It took me a LONG time to begin making Swordmen, I rushed to Liturature for the Great Libray and my only known source of Iron is located on a lone mountain in the middle of the Rainforest. If I am able to land a settler on Sri Lanka, I will have two.
I will try to post some screen shots of Bangalore Plain, Sri Lanka and possibly the Club River Basin.
Hope you enjoy.
EmprorCoopinius Apr 04, 2002, 10:58 AM Sounds to me like you're playing with the 'Govern and make war' mod, it has the 2 resources you mentioned and also mercenaries, with an attack of 2, and defense and movement of 1. Like the story a lot, keep it up.
sealman Apr 04, 2002, 11:14 AM Yes the mercenaries have 2-1-1. Thanks for the info.
Civanator Apr 04, 2002, 02:54 PM Hey sealman can u fit me in the plot again? also i didnt know the govern and make war mod was ready
EQandcivfanatic Apr 04, 2002, 04:25 PM Good story. I am wondering if you can fit me in too? try to make me a Privateer or naval commander.

sealman Apr 08, 2002, 10:08 AM The War of Bangalore Plain and the wars against the English Mercenaries have been over for a decade and scavengers can still find material out on the fields. Thus, two brothers, Joel and Joseph Pierra were out scavenging one day. As they went about their tasks, they came across a recently worn path through the bush. Being curious lads, they decided to follow the new path to see where it lasts. After a few hours, they started to see many armed soldiers. The soldiers were marching west to Bangalore. The two brothers watched the army marching until they saw fluttering in the breeze, a flag. It was not the Indian flag. The English have returned.
The two brothers ran as fast as they could back to Bangalore. The city must be warned and the army set out. The boys bust in to the Bangalore barracks shouting incoherently. After they are calmed down, they relay what they saw to the General’s aide. General Hamlet is quickly appraised of the danger and preparations are made. Spearmen and bowmen man the ramparts. The First Army Corp, comprised of 3 veteran Sword Regiments are dispatched to meet the enemy on the fields, once again. This time India is ready and will meet the English on the plains.
The English and Indians army meet once again on the fields of Bangalore and the result is more bloodshed. The Indian defense is a surprise for the English army who believed that their approach was undiscovered. The English thrust is crushed and Hamlet divides his main army as reinforcements arrive from the interior. The First Army Corp, supported by catapults and 2 Spear Regiments march southeast to take the new war into England. It is time to bring the devastation of war to English soil. The remaining army troops are assigned to defend Bangalore against counterattacks and to harass English troops.
The First Army sets up camp in the hills to the north of Liverpool and begin their siege. The Indian troops charge down the hills and into the points of the English Spears. Indians troops are dying by the hundreds, but so are the English. The battle of attrition grows until finally, the First Army breaks into the city and Liverpool falls. Before the Indian Spearmen can set up a proper defense, the English counterattack. Hamlet leads his men in the defense of the captured city and the attack stalls but Liverpool is now cut off from Bangalore.
Indian Reinforcements attempt to break through the blockade but the English positions are to strong. The English defeat each attack and continue to attack Liverpool. English reinforcements arrive daily from London while Hamlet is stuck with his rapidly dwindling army. Hope is slowly fading from the isolated Indians when a scout reports that an English army has been seen running back to the boarder.
Back in the heartland of India, farmers, tired of the farming life and dreaming of the glory of soldiers decide to try to use their draft horses in combat. Horses are generally new to the country, recently been imported from the Germanic tribes in the North. These farmers-turned warriors and led by Civanator face their beasts south to Bangalore. Although Civanator and his men are not trained for battler, the speed that their horses enable them to reach the outskirts of Liverpool in time to blunt another English offensive. Civanator leads his men into the heart of the English forces and the enemy flees but are cut down by the farmers pitchforks and spades. The English are unprepared for the Horsemen attack but their training takes over and many Indian farmers add their lives to those lost on the Plains. As the sun sets, Civantor looks out amongst his remaining men, his casualties are high, over 75% lost but his job is done. The road to Liverpool is open. Hamlet’s army is saved.
The English may have been defeated outside Liverpool and Bangalore but the fight has not left. English galley set sail and sail north along the eastern coast of India. India’s Navy is weak from constant warring with Barbarian ships. As two English Galleys sail north, they are sighted by an Indian galley captained by the great explorer Ambrost’s brother, EQ. He knows that if he brings his ship into conflict with the English, he is sure to lose but he is also aware of a couple of Pirate ships located further north so he dogs the English fleet. As expected, the English run into a Pirate fleet of three ships. The English fight bravely and sink the three but one English galley sinks below the waves and the reaming ship, damaged as she is, continues on her mission north. Captain EQ sees his moment and attacks the English from behind. The battle is swift and the the English galley sinks below the waves, their mission a failure.
__
Ambrost continues his worldly travels searching for potential allies. As he sails along the coast of China, he is attacked by a Chinese galley. China has recently signed a Military Pact with England against the Peace loving people of India. Ambrost’s elite crew defeat the Chinese and he turns his ship North to China’s neighbor Russia. He puts in for repairs and provisions at a Russian port and informs the authorities of the Chinese actions. China has been known for such acts and Russian forces move into China, on their own accord and thus beings the Russo-Chinese War.
__
High Priest Arathorn continues his scholarly pursuits. Indian scientific achievements are advancing as fast as other nation’s and at no cost to India. Arathorn’s praises are sung across the land and temples are erected in his honor.
__
As the last English galley sinks below the waves, an English emissary arrives at Bangalore under a white flag of truce. Once again the English request a period of peace. Janus Bangalore knows that the English want time to rearm but the Indian forces need the time as well. Peace is once again agreed upon. Unlike the Bangalore War, which was a stalemate the Second War of English Aggression was an Indian victory. The captured city of Liverpool will serve as a buffer against renewed English aggression and provide the protection to allow the development of the lush fertile lands tot he East of Bangalore.

sealman Apr 11, 2002, 08:42 AM The days following the Second War of English Agression saw an increase in the shipping trafic of the Roman Empire. Roman ships were seen off the entire coast of India and the channel between Italia and India were filled with ships, most of them Roman. The Romans decided to flex their naval mussle and decalred all Indian ships, "free for the taking."
The Indians were caught with their perverbial pants down. Their navy, if you could call it that, was spread thin. Ambrost, and his elite men where sailing around China and Russia, many days sail to the north. EQ and his vets of the last English campaign were on the eastern coast of India. To get to the south, they would have to either sail around the Northern Tip of India or through English controlled waters, either way, they would leave the East coast undefended. Another call was issued for sailors who were willing to take up arms against the Romans, another fishman answered the call. His name Eric T. Fish.
Eric knew that his fishingboats turned galleys would be no match for the Roman Armada out on the open seas. He called forth the catapults of Hamlets army and stationed them along the coast where they took shots at Roman ships that veered to close to land. Eric then had his fishermen sail out of the harbors and coves to attack the damaged Roman Ships.
Throughout the summer months, Eric continued to wage his style of naval warefare. Ambrost's expeditionary force arrives at Barbarian Point where they they meet a Roman squadron. After a brief naval batter, Ambrost's fleet is in tatters, he sails into port and their he refitts in order to sail south to Rome. The Roman fleet also survives the fight and continues north and lands some troops in an uninhabited portion of the Indian Rain Forrest.
Civantor takes his rapid horesmen into the rainforest, along the newly created road system and attacks the Roman troops. After a brief battle, the Roman defenders lay dead in the jungle and two more slave workers are added to India's workforce.
At this time, England sees a chance to retake Liverpool and punish the Bagalore for its defiance. England once again declares war on India and attackes a few of Civantor's horsemen left to guard the border. The Indian forces are spread out along the coast to prevent and repel a Roman landing and thus, English troops are once again able to cut of Liverpool from the rest of India.
Peace is reached with Rome, for 160 gold, as Hamlet prepares his army for thenext English siege of Liverpool. Bangalore is in need of a new military leader, with Hamley cut off in Liverpool and Civantor in the jungle with his horse troops. Janus Banglaore appoints Das, a lifetime soldier the important task of defending Bagalore once again from the English Menace.
Once peace is reached with Rome, Ambrost heads to Delhi to meet with the High Priese Arathorn. Ambrost would like ships that can sail across the open ocean. He has heard rumors of a great landmass to the west and dreams of being the man to discover this land, in the name of Greater India, of course.
sealman Apr 11, 2002, 08:46 AM I had a pic of the 2o some ships of the Roman Armada that suddenly appeared in the seas at the start of the war. Afterwards, 5 were under the waves, at the cost of 2 of my ships. Pretty useless war but I did stop a Roman city from appearing in my jungle. It would have flipped if I left it alone but why wait.
I am getting tired of the stalemate wars with England and will need to jump up research in order to take the war to London and finish them off. I have still never run a successful war with Swordmen and Spearmen.
The Third War of English Aggression will be played shortly since I am taking "stupid leave" from work today.

das Apr 11, 2002, 11:46 AM Dead to Knightsuits (our new ickname for Englishmen)
sealman Apr 12, 2002, 11:04 AM English Sword Regiments came flooding across the border and attack 2 of General Civantor’s horse regiments. The horses were forced to retreat and fled back to Bangalore with word of the pending English invasion. English troops flood the plains and cut the road to Liverpool. Once again, General Hamlet is isolated from Bangalore. General Civantor has just dispatched the small Roman landing in the jungle and is no help to the Defenders of Bangalore. The defense of the city falls on the shoulders of one of Hamlet’s colonels, Das. Das has been awaiting a chance to prove that he is an equal of Hamlet and his time has come.
The Bangalore defenses are not as great as they were during the last English war. But instead of Spearmen, the ramparts are guarded by the upgraded Pikemen. English Swordsmen and a few horse charge the city walls and are met with the iron tips of the pikes. The English charge dies in the same manner of hundreds of other English charges against the city, in defeat. As peace is made with Rome, troops station along the west coast are called upon to return to Bangalore in all due haste. The city must not fall!
General Hamlet is faced with a dire choice. To save Bangalore, he must send the Chandragupta Army Corp (comprised of 3 Sword Regiments) as well as his elite Regiment, the 4th Regiment of Sword, and 2 Regiments of Spear. He marches out of Liverpool to save the city and leaves the former English city with 3 Regiments of Regular Spearmen and a catapult.. As his men crest over Liverpool Heights, he turns back and dreads the day when his men will have to assault the city again. He knows that he has left those men to die.
General Hamlet arrives at Bangalore as yet another English assault is thrown back. It is a war of attrition as English reinforcements arrive from London at the same time that Indian reinforcements arrive from the west. Hamlet’s army arrives from the south and catches the English in the open plains. As they turn to flee, Civantor arrives with his speedy horse Regiments and the English are sent back towards London. Hamlet and Civantor enter Bangalore as Das rests his tired defenders. Word arrives shortly from Delhi: Das is promoted to General and it is time that the Indians take the war to England. General Hamlet takes his army group south, to retake Liverpool, no word has come from the city since he left and it is assumed to have fallen. General Das is to head due east and to lay siege to the English capital of London. General Civantor is heading west to Canterbury in an attempt to halt or slow down the construction of the Sun Tzu War Academy.
As General Hamlet approaches Liverpool Heights, the hills just north of the city, all he can see is smoke. He fears the city has fallen but as he climbs the hills, he sees the Indian flag fluttering over the burning city. English sword regiments are to the east and Hamlet turns his forces and attack. The men of the Chandragupta Army group were expecting battle when they arrived but they expected to be assaulting the city, not attack the flank of the English attack. Their enthusiasm carried the day as the English were routed and fled to Oxford. Hamlet enters the city to the cheers of the Indian citizens and a few of the Native English. He meets with the captains of the three Spear Regiments. When Hamlet left Liverpool, he left 3 green regiments as her defense, he returns to find 3 Elite, but exhausted, Regiments. He turns his army east and decides to march and seize the Oxford Wineries and Oxford itself.
General Das marches to London almost unmolested. The only English troops he encounters are the remnants of the last English invasion. He comes to within site of the city and notices Pikemen on the ramparts, the English have started to upgrade their defenders. General Das decides not to assault the city immediately, instead he circles the city and destroys the outlying improvements, thus cutting London off from the rest of the country. His men are enthraled about not assaulting the city. The English mount little sorties in an attempt to catch some of Das’s men alone. Das realizes that the English defenders of London are using the same tactic that the defenders of Bangalore used in previous encounters.
General Das marches to the port city of Canterbury, just north of London. Canterbury is home to one of the wonders of the English Civilization (can’t remember off hand) and is currently constructing the Sun Tzu. The 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th Regiment of Horse cross the Canterbury River supported by 3 Pike Regiments and couple of Mercenary bands. Civantor orders any Mining camp that they come across destroyed and begins to plan his attack on the city. Before Civantor can prepare for his assault, hordes of English swordsmen attack from the east. The English drive deep into the Indian positions and an attack on Canturbury itself is finished. Civantor, know the future value of his horse regiments, orders the retreat. He knows that his horse can retreat saftely to Bangalore, but at the cost of his Pikemen. He calls forth the captains and they understand that they will be forced to delay the English while the rest of the army retreats. Word has been sent to General Das for support but it will not arrive in time. Civantor salutes his brave pikemen and the 3 remaining Regiments of Horse run for Bangalore. The catapults are destroyed as the Pikemen slowly work their way back home, fighting everyinch of the way. Many English swords die at the tips of the Pikes before the last Indian dies, in Indian territory. The English, thinking that the door to Bangalore is open, charge towards the city.
General Das receives word that Civantor has been forced to retreat from Canterbury. He finishes cutting London’s supply lines as he heads back towards Bangalore in a vain attempt to save what he can of Civantor’s Pikemen. The citizens of London, unaware of word of the war and seeing General Das’s army pillaging their farms, begin to riot. General Das can not take the city because he knows that if he does, he will not be able to hold it. He turns and marches to Civantor’s relief. Along the route of march, he takes countless English prisoners and discovers the story of the Pikemen’s fate. As they cross into India, he sees the last stand of the brave Pikemen and General Das takes a day to have his men bury the Indian dead and leaves the English for the wolves. Das presses forth to Bangalore.
General Hamlet seizes the wineries and begins assault the English city of Oxford. The English defenders met Hamlets attack with gusto and wave after wave of Indian assaults met the same fate as wave of wave of English assaults on Bangalore. Hamlet is forces to retreat and heads back towards Liverpool. As he crosses into India, he is attacked on the flank by 3 English Sword Regiments the battle is fierce but the Chandragupta Army Group is saved from destruction by the elite spearmen from Liverpool who leave the city undefended as they route the English attack. Hamlet marches into Liverpool before the English can mass a counter attack against the city.
As General Das approaches Bangalore, he sees the English renewing efforts to take the city. Das’s men, tired of pillaging and eager for a real fight, charge into the rear of the English troops. Civantor, see the effect of Das’s charge and orders his horse into the fray. The combined Indian attacks are too much for the English and Bangalore is once again saved. An Indian Horseman, Shivaji, proves himself as a capable leader and is given a battlefield promotion and is sent north to assist in the construction of SunTzu. As the India’s complete SunTzu, an English messenger arrives with a peace offering. Negotiations are underway and peace is once again reached. The English send over the worker parties to repair the damage of their pillaging.
The Third War of English Aggression ends much the same way as the previous two, in a stalemate. The English had their chance to re-take the city of Liverpool but never mounted a serious attempt. High Priest Arathorn is tasked with finding a means to better our offensive capabilities. The rest of the world will soon be building knights, which the Indians can not do. (Sucks being India with no Ivory)
EQandcivfanatic Apr 15, 2002, 05:24 PM Any more to come? Good so far.
sealman Apr 16, 2002, 09:01 AM The months following the Third War of English Aggression saw an increase of the mercenary raids on the fields to the east of Bangalore. The Indian Military High Command knew that the evil English were behind these raids but needed proof before they could demand retribution. General Civantor takes to the field with his horses in an effort to catch the Mercenaries bands and their English masters. In a brief skirmish near the Indian-English boarder, Civantor captures an English Captain serving with the Mercenary bands. Proof that the English were behind the raids was rushed back to Delhi and retribution demands were made to England. The English refused the demands and blatantly marched regular troops into India. The Indian forces in Bangalore (Das) and Liverpool (Hamlet) were ordered to the highest readiness levels in anticipation of further English aggression. Word was sent to London to remove the troops from Indian soil or to be buried under it. Queen Elizabeth refuses fall back and re-initiates the hostilities. The English continue to dream of occupying Bangalore and the Fourth War of English Aggression has begun.
sealman Apr 16, 2002, 09:22 AM The Great Indian Explorer Ambrost (and his sons) have been sailing the seas for years in the hopes of discovering some unknown lands in which the Indian people can found colonies. It is hoped that Ambrost can discover lands rich in resources that are not abundant in India proper. Most important is the discovery of some wild horse pastures so that the Indian military is not reliant on the greed of the German People. His discoveries proof successful as a series of 4 uninhabited islands are discovered on the far side of Germany. Ambrost quickly sails back to India for some settlers to colonize this new land.

Stupid sealman forgot to board Ambrost’s ship with a settler. "Doh"
sealman Apr 16, 2002, 02:31 PM As the latest English army advances along the well worn path to Bangalore, they are met on the open fields by Civantor’s horse based army and defeated. Civantor leads charge after charge against the English ranks. The remains of the English army limps back to London and Civantor returns to Bangalore to regroup.
As Civantor marches on the English out on the Bangalore fields, General Hamlet sets out from Liverpool to lay siege to the York Wineries and the city of York. Hamlet’s army has seen the lay of the land before as they marched along these same paths during the last war. This time, Hamley vowed that York would fall. Hamlet arrives at York and promptly begins shelling the city with his catapults. English counter attacks are repulsed with ease and finally Hamlet gives the word to attack. The Chandragupta Army Corp, supported by Regiments of Sword, charge into the city. The English defenders put up a valiant defense but with most of the English army north near London or attacking Bangalore, the thin defense soon crumbles. As Hamlet stools into the city proper, he orders that the English flag be taken down and tossed into the fire raging throughout the city. The victorious Indian Men cheer loudly as the Indian flag is raised.
–
Scholar’s note: Hamlet’s assault of York has placed the Indian army in a difficult position. They have seized the two York wineries, helping to increase the value of Indian Wine but have opened themselves up to a strong English counterattack. The city of York sticks out into English territory and Hamlet’s forces are in a worse situation then they were when they took Liverpool. The city of York is at the head of the Bay of England and the taking of the city has cut off the English port of Newcastle. Old maps of the campaign are in the archives in the Great Library located on the slopes of Minas Tirith. Copies will be available to the general public shortly.
__
Generals Das and Civantor have noticed the weak defensive position that General Hamlet is in. He is buttoned up in York and can easily be cut off should the English attempt a strong counterattack. Reinforcements are sent in along the only road while General Das moves east towards the English capital of London. The hopes are that the reinforcements to Hamlet will solidify his position and allow a new campaign against the isolated city of Newcastle.
General Das’s army is familiar with London as they spent the last war pillaging all the improvements around the city. The English have not gotten around to repairing the roadways but this does not slow down Das’ advance. The Indian army arrives on the outskirts and two Sword Regiments attack the English Pikeman defender. The Indian attack is a success as the prime English defender is no longer an effective military until but neither are the 2 Regiment of Sword. As General Das continues to batter away at the English capital, an English army departs the port city of Canterbury in a hopes of reinforcing London. Das is unaware of the English troop movements but General Civantor is not.
As the English cross the Canterbury River, Civantor unleashes his men which hit the English on their right flank, the English army is routed and flee back to Canterbury. Civantor orders his men north and it is now a race. As the Indian Regiment of Horse reach the Canterbury River, an English delaying force stops the advance. The Indians have lost the race to Canterbury but regroup on the south side of the river. London will see no reinforcements.
English troops move north from the Newcastle Peninsula and attempt to retake York. Recent troop movements that brought more Pikemen to the city were undiscovered by the English and the attack was repulsed. The brash General Hamlet gambles that the English Governor of Newcastle is now defenseless and orders his army group and healthy Sword Regiments down the Peninsula, leaving a strong defensive force in York in case of another English attack. Hamlet marches south along the Bay of England and climbs the mountains just north of the city. The Indian troops, exhausted from the forced march north are pleased to see that the defenders in the small seaport town are armed with the obsolete spears and not the dreaded pikes. Hamlet rests for the night and at dawn, his army charges down the slopes into the unsuspecting city. The battle is over before noon as the English spears are no match for the Elite Sword Regiments of the Chandragupta Army Corp. Hamlet has taken his second English city in this war and the third English city to fall to his illustrious family name. Troop redeployment is ordered defensive troops march to Newcastle and the front line Swords march back to York.
As news of Newcastle reaches General Das, London is in flames. General Das’ siege of the city is slowly working. Constant sorties to probe the English defenses have been costly but effective. The English have lost close to one fighting regiment for every Indian lose. General Das is happy with the 1:1 ratio and press the attack. Reinforcements arrive daily and soon the overwhelming Indian troops breakthrough and London falls. Das’s Sword Regiments, first bloodied in the last war with the ‘Knighsuits’ pillage the English Palace and Queen Elizabeth is found cowering in the kitchen with the scullery maids. She is chained and marched through the streets of London and sent off to Delhi to stand trail for crimes against India. Seven English workers are also captured and tasked with fixing the improvements destroyed in the last war.
Civantor, camped on the south side of the Canterbury River receives word that London has fallen. Civantor moves camp in order to cut the last road to Canterbury and reinforcements must only come via ship. Captain EQ of the Indian Republic Vessel (IRV) Victory is sailing the waters outside of Canterbury. The English have the numbers in ships but the 3 caravel’s in EQ’s fleet have been hampering English shipping. Word comes to EQ while he is in port that he must set sail at once and clear the shipping lanes of English ships. Ambrost’s convoy of 2 caravels will be passing through enroute to the new lands of New India. As EQ sails, he is met by a force of 10 English galleys and a fierce sea battle ensues. EQ’s small fleet limps back to port minus one ship but managed to send countless English Sailors to the deep dark depth. With EQ’s fleet out of action, 7 more English galleys sight Ambrost’s expedition. Ambrost sails into Iroquois waters in a vain attempt to shake the English pursuers. There is no escape from battle. Ambrost must fight his way as the Iroquois refuse to offer sanctuary. The two fleets meet off of the coast of a small uninhabited Iroquois island. The Battle of the nameless isle is fierce but the numbers of the English is too much for Ambrost. The Indian fleet is lost beneath the waves, with no known survivors. A lone English galley was sight limping back towards Canterbury which the Victory promptly sinks. An old fishing boat is sent north to look for survivors.
The southern waters between India and Italia remained clogged with Roman shipping. Captain ET Fish of the IRV Barracuda leads a quasi-successful campaign against what English ships he can reach. The cowardly English captains flee to the safety of the Roman Merchants whenever the Barracuda and company is spotted. Captain Fish forgoes the English shipping in the Roman Straights and sets sail for the Bay of England. Any and all English ships in the Bay will be sunk and Newcastle and York will no longer be vulnerable from attack by sea. By basing his fleet in Newcastle, Fish will be able to control the Bay as well as prevent English ships from returning to England via the southern trade routes.
__
As General Hamlet solidifies his defenses at York, General Das orders some of his elite Sword Regiments north to assist Civantor’s attack on the isolated English city of Canterbury. When Das’s fresh troops arrive, Civantor crosses the Canterbury and moves towards the city of the same name. General Civantor presses his attack on Canterbury but the English resistance is tough. Unlike London and York, the English defenders have no were to run. It is either win or die and the Indians are discovering how much the English want to live. Indian soldiers are falling at an alarming rate. The Canterbury River begins to run red with the blood of the Indian dead but Civantor will not retreat. He has fought to the gates of the city before and was thrown back, he will not fail again. Reinforcements arrive continuously and are quickly thrown into the meat grinder. All available siege engines are brought north to assist. The siege of Canterbury is like nothing the world has seen. More dead are lying under the hot sun then were killed during the Second War of English Aggression. The pressure of the Indian attacks is overpowering and the city of Canterbury is unable to hold out anymore. The Indians breakthrough the city and the last English defenders perish trying to hold the Hanging Gardens of Canterbury.
Back in Delhi, Queen Elizabeth stands trial as a criminal to the Indian people, she is sentence to life in prison but English insurgents break into the courtroom to free their queen. In the ensuing panic and gunfire, Elizabeth is struck down, along with most of the English terrorists.
Janus Bangalore II is called to the Great Library by High Priest Arathorn. Janus walks into the library and is shown to the research facilities in the rear of the library. There Arathorn is playing with a long metal and wooden stick which appears to be hollow. Arathorn pours some black powder and a lead ball down the barrel and points it at one of the captured English terrorists. Arathorn pulls the trigger and the ‘weapon’ coughs up smoke. Janus turns to look at the terrorist and sees him lying dead on the floor with blood gushing from a wound in his chest. Janus orders more of these weapons created and sent to the armies on the English Front.
The Indian populous is getting tired of the war with England, despite the advances made by India’s Generals. As Das and Civantor approach Nottingham, the new English Capital, peace is declared. England’s treasury is empty, and the Indian one is close to it. England can not pay reparations for instigating the war but agree to part with the cities of Oxford and *********** and send another work party to fix up the infrastructure around the new Indian cities of York, London and Canterbury. In the end, the English lost 6 of their 9 cities, 2 of their 4 wineries, their only source of saltpeter (which was discovered soon after the fall of London) and 12 workers, although 3 were recaptured during a brief counter offensive. The Fourth War of English Aggression was a stunning defeat to the English nation, but not as bad as China’s defeat to the Russian at the same time, China is no more. England is still around, for the moment.
EQandcivfanatic Apr 17, 2002, 01:53 PM Dirty English. Why not mass produce muskets and develop cannons and better ships and wipe them off the Earth? Also wipe out the Romans too. Judging from the mini-map conquering the English and the Romans would give more than enough space and production to become to world's superpower.
das Apr 17, 2002, 02:12 PM Say, we are talking about conquering England and Rome for space for Aryan People! We could have as well proclaimed ourselves Nazis, and placing Swastikas on our flags, but that won't be popular here. How about searching for some other old Indo-Aryan symbol? And we won't need to kill Jews - we will kill Romans and Englishmen (j/k - we will only kill military ofcoruse)!
EQandcivfanatic Apr 17, 2002, 06:11 PM How about this for a flag to raise over the English capitol: :finger:
If not that how about this:
das Apr 18, 2002, 11:55 AM Okay, so how is that for a flag:

das Apr 21, 2002, 11:27 AM Why thank you!
sealman Apr 22, 2002, 10:22 AM Generations have passed since the threat of English aggression was erased from the proud Indian people. But alas, a new problem has arisen to face the new generation.
Mahesh Bangalore, decedent of the great Janus and present Head Minister of the Indian Republic has called forth all the heads of the great families to Delhi for an urgent conference. As the great men; Civantor, Das, Hamlet, Fish and the rest file into the room, Mahesh is in deep conversation with the current high priest of Arathorn.
"Please be seated," stats Bangalore. "Ambrost can not be with us today as he is consolidating our holdings on the Ambrost Isles, the Russians are starting to get a little agitated for some reason."
Commodore EG speaks up: "Sire, the Russians would not be a problem if you let me sail our navy over there and kick a little Russian...."
"ENOUGH! We are not hear to discuss the Russians. Arathorn, if you please?"
"Thank you Minister. As you all may be aware, we have discovered this unique rock (holds up a piece of what we now call coal) some time ago in the hills outside of Oxford. After researching and testing its properties, we have discovered that we can do a lot with it. If we had more."
"Oxford?" asks Hamlet. "Didn’t that city return to the English Empire?"
"Yes it did," replies Das. "And we were in no position to demand its return."
"That is right," says Bangalore. "At the time Oxford was a drain on our economy. It was isolated and at the other side of the English holdings. We would have been unable to defend the city should the English return to their evil ways. As it turns out, we should have made stronger attempts at keeping the city."
"So what are we doing debating here?" questions Civantor. "Let us attack England and seize this ‘coal’. Oxford may have been founded as an English city, it became a territory of India as payment for past English transgressions. It is time we take back what is rightfully ours!"
The room erupts in support of Civantor’s proposal. Minister Bangalore attempts to quite the crowd. "But what of Rome? They are closely tied with England."
"True," replies Commodore Fish, "But Rome does what is best for Rome. I would assume that they would be happy to stay neutral, or with side with us if the price is right. Last I heard, the Russian were demanding a high price for saltpeter, which we all know that the Romans are short of."
___
With an agreement of Saltpeter for Gold, the Romans turn a blind eye as Indian troops roll into England. Indian Calvary, Elephants and Cannon roll deep into English held territory. The Indian advance strikes quickly and Oxford is in Indian hands while England defends its capital.
The defenders at Oxford were caught unprepared. There was no indication that the Indians would once again rule the city and all families that had any ties with the revolution some years back, were marched off to the jungles of India. Hamlet secures the city from possible revolt while Civantor and Das continue on. Civantor marches north to the capital of Nottingham and Das marches south into the frozen tundra to destroy all English opposition.
As Das marches south, the English flee in any boats that could take to the water. They are met on the open waves by Commodore Fish and his frigates. Some English ships attempt to fight but are no match for the superior ships of the Indian navy. The scene is repeated in the north as Commodore EQ destroys the last of the English navy.
Civantor approaches the city of Nottingham, the last remaining bastion of English authority. The capital of a once proud but now defeated civilization. As Civantor plans out his strategy for the sacking of the town, a cry is heard from the city: "IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH" and suddenly the fields are full of English calvary intent on taking as many Indians to the afterlife as possible. The Indians troops charge into the fields and for 4 hours, the Indians and English forces moved across the fields in an elegant display of battle tactics and ballet. In the end, the English forces limp back to the city walls leaving behind their dead and the Dead of the Indian Regiments that met the attack.
Civantor orders his guns to begin shelling the city and after 4 days of constant shelling, he orders the assault. The English, once proud and defiant, bolstered by their victory only 4 days ago, as pushed aside as Indian troops are eager to get at the booty in the city. Civantor stolls into town and walks to the highest point in the city. As he overlooks the battlefields, he thinks back to the stories he has heard of his great grandfather. The battles that he won during the 3rd and 4th Wars of English Aggression and he is proud that he lived up to the name. He is proud of his men.
As the captured English officers are marched in to see Minister Bangalore, they are all offered to join the Indian army, at reduced ranks of course. Those that accept the generous offer are sent to Indian outposts, away from England while those that decline, are sent to the penal colonies at Ambrost Isle.
Commodore Ambrost is disappointed on the outcome of the war. He would have liked a chance to sail to the theater of operations to send a few English ships to the bottom. The Ambrost family may not be warriors, but they had a score to settle with the English after the cowardly attack of the Ambrost Expedition many many years ago.

EQandcivfanatic Apr 22, 2002, 12:16 PM That just leaves the romans, who you say have no saltpeter? without saltpeter you could easily overwhelm the Roman forces after and invasion. using railroads to rapidly send troops to the front and rifles to guard captured cities you could easily and quickly wipe out the Romans. Also, Can you post a save? I want to try out a stradegy on this map.

sealman Apr 30, 2002, 11:34 AM The Indian armies under the brilliant leadership of Generals Hamlet, Civanator and Das are solidifing their holdings in the newly named English Province. All three military leaders were building up their forces for a future invasion of Italia. The Roman Menance on the seas must be cleansed.
Back in Delhi, Admirals Fish and EQ were called to the Minister's office. Both men approached with awe as they took in all the great works of Indian Art, some some fine pieces of former English works, that lined the hallways of the Imperial Palace. They enter Minister Bangalore's office and quickly take their seats.
On the wall behind Bangalore's desk is a large map of the Italian Straights, that body of water that seperates India and Italia. The two seamen notice the many red pins insert in the waterways, each marking the latest reports of Roman ships (all information being weeks old). Both men also notice the lack of blue pins, signifying Indian ships.
"Gentelmen, welcome. I am presenting you with a great task. Rid these waters of Roman shipping. The Straights belong to Indian and Rome refuses to acknowledge. But keep this in mind... We are not ready for war. Dismissed."
The two men return to their port cities and begin the rapid construction of a Privateer Navy. In the following months, the shipyards along the entire southern coast are busy building the ships that will take Rome out of Indian waters. In other shipyards, galleys are being constructed at the orders of the Generals in order to carry the glorious armies to Italia.
Finally, with a fleet of Privateers, Admirals EQ and Fish transfer their command flags from their respected Frigates and onto the new ships, the Destiny and the Harpoon . Under the command of these two great sea captains, the Indian 'Navy' roams into the Straights and starts sinking all non-Indian shipping.
EQ and Eric the Fish are silently praised throughout India as the numbers of Roman ships seen on the waters begins to decline. The long planned invastion of Italia is set to begin.

sealman May 05, 2002, 08:56 PM Nope. Been busy. first the inlaws, then a trip to my sisters place in Maine, now switching jobs, taking part in Das' Never Ending Story. Lots of work. Have an update, just need to write it.
__
Refresher, Admirals EQ and Fish have cleansed the Indian waters of Roman Shipping. General Das has set sail from Exter in the Bay of England with an plethera (always liked that word:D ) of ships and troops and is currently sailing towards Italia and the port city of Veii (i think need to check my notes)
__
Das has landed, and the results are forthcoming - tomorrow.
sealman May 06, 2002, 09:02 AM General Das exits his field tent and looks down on the smoking ruins of the Roman city of Veii. He looks out around the fields and sees Roman troops digging graves for the thousands that have died in the past few days. Of course, those Roman men are being guarded by his victorious Indian Army. Unlike past victories, Das does not smile as he thinks back on this latest battle. Too many Indian men have died in the past few days, and for what. General Das and his army has been decimated. It will take at least a year to muster the same numbers that he had prior to the Battle of Veii. He shakes his head as he heads back into his tent to continue to write the letters to the families of his lost men, this is the one task that the General despises but he refuses to delegate this task to his subordinates. These men died under his command and the least he could do, was to personally see to it that the families are told of the events.
__
Dear Ms. Patel.
I write to inform you of you husbands valor in the early stages of our glorious victory here at Veii. Sanji was commanding one of the first Infantry Regiments to land in Italia. As our army was disembarking, the evil Roman legions attacked our position. Sanji’s regiment was in the direct line of the Roman advance and he rallied his men to save the army. In fierce hand to hand combat, Sanji was killed. He was stabbed in the back by a Roman bayonet. He refused medical attention until all his men were taken care of first. I know that Sanji’s passing is a great personal loss to you, but his loss is also felt deeply to the men under his command.
General Das, Commander of India’s forces in Italia.
__
Dear Ms. Jumanti.
Your son Cristof was instrumental in breaching the defenses of Veii. In previous assaults, the 2nd and 3rd calvary Division rushed the Roman defenders. In the first two assaults, all the calvary officers were killed and Sargent Cristof took command and led the combined armies on one last charge into the city. The Roman regiments fell under the weight of this combined attack. As Cristof ordered his men back, to make room for the 6th Calvary, he knocked from his horse. We are unsure how Cristof died but do know that he was found 200 yards from his dead horse. His weapons were empty and his sword wet with Italian blood. The Romans may be savage fighters but they respect bravery, even among their enemies. Cristof’s body was found at the side of a building with his arms across his chest and his sword ceremoniously at his side. A placard with the Italian word for valor was found at his feet.
General Das, Commander of India’s forces in Italia.
__
General Das closed his stationary as tears begin to fill his eyes. His aide walks into the command tent. "General, I have the butcher’s bill here."
"What is it?"
"Of the 8 Infantry Regiments, 3 are at full strength and 4 are totally decimated. The 5th Infantry may be raised to half strength by tomorrow. We are reassigning the survivors from those other units to the 5th."
"What of our offensive capabilities? What of the Calvary?"
"The 6th Calvary is at about 90%. The 2nd and 3rd are about 75% if you combine the two. With reinforcements, the 1st and 9th can be rebuilt. The other..."
"I understand. So we are basically out of the fight for some time."
"Yes sir. Our 4 artillery batteries were unscathed. If need be, we can transfer them to General Hamlet or Civanator when they land."
"We will see. What of the Roman casualties?"
"In the counter attack at the beach head, the Romans lost 3 Calvary detachments. 3 Rifles and 2 Infantry Regiments perished in the city itself. Unsure of the counterattacks once we took Veii. We do know that the Roman Army has been severely crippled and the other two Generals should have an easier time."
"I hope they appreciate it. So, I guess we are now the peace keepers here. Make sure that the harbor is rebuilt and those temples are established. We must keep Veii if the invasion of Italia will continue."
"Yes sir!"

EQandcivfanatic May 14, 2002, 07:18 PM Even though that was a very bad joke, i am glad to see that you all are not dead. All we need now is for the story to continue
sealman May 15, 2002, 07:31 AM General Civanator looked out at his transports as they sailed out of the Bay of England towards Italia and the Roman port city of Venice. ‘General Das should have landed at Veii already,’ thought Civanator. ‘Will the Romans fight as hard as the English had? In a few more days, we will land and know the answer.
Civantator lands his armies in the hills overlooking Venice and quickly begins preparing for his assault. A few Roman knights charge his position but are quickly thrown back by the Rifle regiments. ‘Das must have done well since there is so little Roman opposition.’
As the sun rises on a new day, Indian cannon batteries open fire and hide the new rays behind the smoke and haze of the discharge. After a few hours, the guns fall silent and the Romans know that the Indian calvary will soon be pouring down the hills. Civanator does not make them wait long.
The 8th Calvary gets the call as the lead regiment and charges towards the city. As they reach rifle distance, they are met by the lead balls fired from the Roman Rifles but the charge continues. The 2nd and 3rd Regiments charge to support the attack and briefly, the three Regiments break into the city. As they return to the Indian lines, not a single Roman Rifle can be seen on the walls. Before the Romans can begin to fill in the gaps in their lines, the 4th Calvary, supported by the elite 1st, begin their assault. As those units return they report that the Roman Royal Spears of Venice is the last remaining line of defense. The 9th Calvary, the only regular unit in Civanator’s army charges. The modern weapons of the raw recruits overpower the ceremonial spears and Venice falls.
Civanator, ordered to create a pure Indian city in Italia orders the city burnt to the ground. Indian colonists, brought over with the army, land and New Delhi, the capital of Indian Italia is founded. Stage 2 of the Indian invasion is completed successfully. Civanator begins moving west towards Veii and General Das’s depleted forces.
The Roman Empire has now lost 2 of their 4 port cities. EQ and Fish sail towards Rome and being the blockade of the port and of course, begin constant shelling. The Shelling will continue until Indian forces reach the capital. The other port city, Naples will soon be visited by General Hamlet.
unscratchedfoot May 17, 2002, 01:12 AM Yeah! The romans are getting it now. Any chance on an aspiring new officer or general named unscratchedfoot? I think this would be a great name for someone of such status.
Don't stop punishing them snively romans.
Eric The Fish May 17, 2002, 01:34 PM I hear the romans eat their own children. No, it's true!
sealman May 20, 2002, 09:04 AM The First Navy, under the command of Admiral Fish sails towards the Roman coast and the port city of Naples. So, far the invasion of Italia has gone relatively smoothly, with the exception of the huge losses at Veii. Admiral Fish looks out at the sea from the bridge of his flagship, the Vengeance. It is his task to defend the last of the invasion force, General Hamlet’s army. So far, a few brave Roman captains have brought their ships within his massive guns range and are now siting at the bottom of the waters.
Hamlet’s forces land with little opposition and set up positions to capture the Roman city. Like previous sieges, the Romans send a few probing attacks to determine the strength of the Indian army. Two Roman knight regiments charge from the city and are thrown back by the Indian rifles, but at a loss. Hamlet is now without his only elite Rifle Regiment, the 3rd Rifles. Rather than using his cannon against the city, Hamlet orders them west, with a group of Rifle Regiments, to stop any Roman reinforcements coming from the capital, Roma. He gives command of this force to a young Colonel, Colonel U. Scratched Foot. Hamlet uses the guns from the First Navy to begin the bombardment of Naples.
Hamlet, like his forefathers before him, was always impatient when it came to sacking cities and does not give the shore bombardment enough time to complete their task and orders his calvary forward. Losses are horrific on both sides, but the sheer number of troops that Hamlet throws at Naples is enough to cause the city to fall. Hamlet walks into the city proud once again of his boys who took the city and even managed to leave the barracks and harbor facilities relatively intact. He can now rest his tired and bloody forces while Generals Civanator and Das march to his position so that they can press the invasion towards Rome. Slave labor is used to build the rail lines between Veii, Naples and New Delhi to help.
While the Indian troops are regrouping in Naples, Foot is met on the fields by a Roman counterattack. The Roman Knight Regiments throw themselves at the Indian positions but are thrown back time and time again by Foot’s rifles and cannon. Col. Foot sees an opening and decides to take it. He moves his forces to the outskirts of the Roman city of Pompeii to deny the Roman Army of their one and only Horse Pastures. The Roman army will have to continue the war against the Modern Indian army with nothing other than primitive Swordmen.
----
Please note that due to my lost notes, the names of the Roman cities may or may not be one and the same.
edit: up next.... the attack of Rome!
sealman May 22, 2002, 01:51 PM As the armies of General Hamlet, Das and Civanator slowly moved across Italia, Roman cities continued to fall. Occasionally the Romans would sent out relief forces to assist the beleaguered cities but they never made it through the defensive wall established by Colonel Foot and his men. Colonel Foot also continued to harass and shell the city of Pompeii and when the offensive might of General Das’s weakened force arrive, Pompeii is a little more than a smoking ruin. General Das takes the city with little effort and Foot is sent back to Hamlet and the attack on Rome itself.
Generals Civanator and Hamlet continue to march towards Rome and through the remnants of the Roman Army. Rome, the once masters of the waters is almost non-existent. Caesar knows that Rome’s days on the world stage are rapidly fading and the only way to retain any hopes of independence is to sue for peace. Emissaries from Rome arrive in Delhi and are promptly asked to leave. For generations Indian ships have been subjected to Roman whims, even in Indian waters. Time is at least to even the score. Rome has spent her treasury on being a sea power and is now paying for that mistake dearly.
General Hamlet arrives at the outskirts of Rome first and knows the political power that will come to the General that captures the city. General Das’ ancestor was given a knighthood for the taking of London during the English Wars and know Hamlet figures that his family is due. Once again, Hamlet is eager for victory and disregards Foot’s suggestion of an artillery barrage prior to the assault. After all the second fleet has been stationed outside Rome’s harbors since the landings and shells have been landing in Rome for days. The First 2 Calvary charges are a success and spies indicate that a lone Spear Regiment is all that stands between Rome’s existence and her death. General Hamlet decides to lead the last and final charge himself and the 4th Calvary charges the city. The Romans know that defeat is inevitable but valiantly defend their homes, the 4th Calvary charge is stopped dead in its tracks. General Hamlet’s horse, Shakespeare, returns riderless.
Not wanting to believe his General dead, Colonel Foot orders his Rifles to attack and the city of Rome is overrun by a ruthless mob of men, itching to make the Romans pay dearly for the loss of their General. As the fighting turns into looting, Colonel Foot finds General Hamlet in a dark alley clutching a spent rifle with his empty pistols at his feet. All around the General are dead Romans. The General is rushed to his field tent and the army surgeon is summoned. General Hamlet have never been known to show as much concern for his men as General Das, but this army, thousands strong, clustered around his tent waiting for word of his fate. As the surgeon exits the tent, soaked in blood he motions to Colonel Foot and whispers in his ear. "The General will live."
Colonel Foot turns to the mass of men pressing as close as possible, all wanting to be the first to hear the news. "The General will fight again!" and the men began to cheer. Victory is complete, the Romans have gone the way of the English.
unscratchedfoot May 22, 2002, 05:11 PM Yeah!! Colonel Foot saves the day (and Hamlet too).
Eric The Fish May 23, 2002, 10:45 AM THE WORLD'S OCEANS BELONG TO FISH!!!!...and uh that other naval guy..what's his name?
sealman May 23, 2002, 12:14 PM Many generations have passed since the Roman and English problems have been erased. India has remained in a state of peace with her neighbors. India has maintained a strong tie with her tow largest neighbors, the Aztecs and Iroquios. India has also assisted Iroquois and her continental ally, Germany in their struggle over the evil Babylonians. Although no Indian troops were ever sent to the theater of operations, the India’s naval might successfully blocked Babylonian ports from much needed Russian raw materials. The wars conclusion saw the mighty Babylonian empire lowered to "third world status".
The Ambrost Isles, named after the famous Indian explorer Ambrost, remains the only Indian possession far removed from India proper, over the last few decades, the Russians have become more and more belligerent over the ownership of these islands. India discovered them and was the first to settle but Russia and America are closer and have also establish cities. The next great crisis to the Indian people, will be these holdings.
_________
The High Priest of the cult of Arathorn strolls into the Prime Ministers office. This priest, known to all as Arathorn is the 25th in a long line of men to hold that name. They are responsible for the technological advances made by the Indian people throughout the years.
"Sir, a new deposit of Uranium has been discovered north of Ambrost City. It is currently under our control but reports indicate that the Russian have learned of our discovery."
"This is not good news. The Russians have been without a source for some time now and may have their eyes on this resource. Send some Divisions out to Ambrost to hold our positions."
"I will inform the Ministry of Defense and any spare Regiments will be sent as soon as possible."
As Arathorn leaves the office, the Russian ambassador barges in.
"Russia has suffered your taunts for the past decade. We demand that you give us some of this green glop so that Russia can once again place herself in her rightful place as the leader of the world."
"I am sorry ambassador, A have here a signed treaty with another nation selling our excess Uranium holdings. Should Russia ever be willing to pay for our excesses, we may be willing to make some arrangements."
"You shall pay for your arrogance." With that the Ambassador throws some papers on the Ministers desk and storms out.
Prime Minister Janus Bagalore IX picks up the discarded documents and reads the top line. "Declaration of War."
Word is quickly sent to the Ambrost Islands to prepare for a Russian invasion.
Russian troops roll across the border, the new Russian Armor Divisions proving to much for the Obsolete Rifle and Infantry Regiments guarding the frontier fortresses. The Russian assault is briefly halted at the northernmost Indian outpost, Ambrost Farms. This city once was responsible for supplying horses to the calvary regiments but has fallen on hard times since the invention of tanks. Being the closest city to Russia, Ambrost Frames is home to 5 Regiments the top of the line Indian Mechanized Infantry. The Russian forces are stopped as they must find a way through the hastily built Indian defenses.
______
As the Russian forces first cross the border, the Iroquois and Aztec governments honored their Mutual Protection Pacts with India and declare war on Russia. An envoy is sent to America and President Lincoln refuses aid to India during this Russian invasion. American possessions on the Ambrost Islands are south of India’s and defensive forces are kept in Ambrost City in case America decides to take her share of India’s holdings.
As India’s allies being to mobilize, Babylonia enters the war on the side of Russia and declares war on Iroquois Iroquois forces are now to be tied up in their homeland and thus will be of little use to the Ambrost Islands. Germany seeing a chance to take more of Babylonian lands declares war on her neighbor and the third Iroquois-German-Babylonian war beings.
_____
Back in Ambrost Farms, the Russian forces finally break through, although costly. 10 Divisions of Russian Armor are left to rust in the subburbs. The Russian victory at Ambrost Farms is enough for America. They decide that if they want any land in the isles, they must enter the war and thus America declares war on India. Governor Ambrost, a long-long decedent of the famous explorer is now between the proverbial rock and a hard place. His top notch defensive forces were lost at Ambrost Farms, he is now fighting a two front war and Indian Reinforcements may not arrive in time. He hastily sends a dispatch to Delhi.
_______
New Delhi:
"Sir, word from Governor Ambrost. It appears that Ambrost Farms has fallen and his forces are in a tight spot. He has a proposition that he wishes to make."
The aid hands the dispatch over. Bangalore reads the note and makes his decision....
---------------
Sorry no maps, but the game has been over for sometime and I am finally getting around to writing it upand can not find where I saved the pics. (No asteroids this time :)). I have been at peace since Rome fell and missed my chance to take part in the Babylonian war :( I may have to adlib and send some General there just to take me jabs at them:D during the latest conflict. The summary is from notes and memory.
World Status
India, Iroquois and Azteca all are at war with America and Russia.
Iroquois and Germany are at war with Babylonia
The Eqyptians and Greeks are currently at peace with everyone.
Every nation expect for Germany, Iroquios and Babylon are on their own continent/island.
Admiral Fish, of that family is currently sailing an army under the command of one of the Generals to assist Governor Ambrost in the defense of his islands.
Admiral EQ is preparing to sail to Russia to bring the war to the Russian people.
Not sure which General is going where.... must wait and see.

I am hoping that too. The Admiral has been serving the Indian Nation well that I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
:D
sealman May 24, 2002, 12:56 PM Prime Minister Bangalore picks up the phone and calls over the French Ambassador who promptly arrives at the Ministry Building in beautiful downtown Delhi.
"You requested an meeting Mister Prime Minister?"
"Yes, Ambassador. You are currently aware of the blatant aggression by the Americans and Russians on our holdings in the Ambrost Islands?"
"Yes, I am. I do not see what we can do for you what with America being so close to France and much stronger."
"Never fear, I have no desire to see France destroyed by those American bullies. Instead, I offer you the City of Vishnu in the islands."
"And what must we do for this ‘gift’, Mister Prime Minister."
"Simple, agree to a trade embargo against the Americans. Their capacity for war will be greatly hampered by the lose of your French Oil. Should the American’s retaliate against you, The First Indian Fleet is currently operating in the area and can easily defend your shores from a possible American invasion."
"It is agreed, Mister Prime Minister. France will take control of Vishnu."
As the French Ambassador leaves, he asks his secretary to make a call to the Egyptian Ambassador.
"Ah, Mister Ambassador, welcome."
"Thank you, Sir. I just ran into Pierre outside. It seems that Indian may be parting with her holdings in the Ambrost Islands."
"In a manner of speaking, yes."
"How can Egypt be of service to you, I am afraid to ask. After all, the Russian do have a few holdings near Egypt."
"Why it is simple. We ask that you join with India, Iroquois and the Aztecs against our war with Russia. Russia will be too busy trying to take the Ambrost uranium mines thus leaving her southern colonies ripe for Egyptian occupation."
"An interesting proposition, Janus. What will prevent the Russian from coming after Egypt?"
"Why the Second Fleet of course. The Russians are busy in Ambrost. We have moved our forces out of Vishnu and given that city to France, we are abandoning Ganesh thus all our Ambrost Forces will be concentrated in Ambrost City and the Uranium Mines. Russia will suffer huge loses should she try to take that city. Any Russian action against Egypt would have to be by ship and they would have to sail through Azteca’s and our navies to do so. It is a win-win situation for Egypt."
"I am under orders to assist the growth of trust and respect between our countries. You ridded us of the Roman problem so many generations ago, now it appears we can rid ourselves of the Russians. Egypt agrees to your agreement. Cairo will issue a statement shortly."
"Thank you Amir. India thanks you in her time of crisis."
______
Word is sent to Governor Ambrost. "Abandon the city of Vishnu to the French and the city of Ganesh to nature. Bring all forces to Ambrost city and hold the Uranium Mines - AT ALL COST.
______
The Russian forces flow south towards Ambrost cit, secure in the fact that their armor will crush the Indian forces in the theater, once and for all. A steady stream of Indian Infantry have been arriving at the airport since the invasion began and suddenly, ships are sighted over the horizon. Admiral Fish and the First Fleet have arrived with even more reinforcements under the command of General Das. Much more important, a stronger naval presence is now in the area and hopefully can help to stop the flow of American and Russian troops into the theater of operations. The citizenry is optimistic that they will not be subjected to the Russian way of life.
______
As the Russian and American forces converge on the isolated city of Ambrost City, Egypt declares war on Russia and attacks the Russian holdings near Egypt. The Russian forces are overwhelmed and Egypt prevails.
_______
General Foot lands near the German city of Bremmen with a contingent of armor and infanty. Shortly after landing, Foot’s army begins the march though Germany and into Babylon. Admiral EQ has finished marshaling his fleet together and the largest armada in the history of modern naval warfare begins to steam to Russia. The group consists of 2 Army Groups under the commands of Generals Hamlet and Civanator. The Russian will feel the full weight of Indian retaliation.
EQandcivfanatic May 27, 2002, 09:51 PM Very good. Let's see if the AI in this game acts like every other AI and sends Frigates and Ironclads at my battleships and carriers, which i assume i have as who would be insane enough to be in the Modern Ages and not have great fleets with those. Anyway, may the Russians die underneath my fleet's shells!
Eric The Fish May 28, 2002, 11:42 AM well, seeing as how I AM American i would be obviously be refering to the Americans in the game. They are dirty scum who deserve to die. We rock.
das May 28, 2002, 11:52 AM ANd I hope yo uare reffering to game Russians, because that I am citizen of Israel AND Russia in the same time, through right now I live in Israel.
Eric The Fish May 28, 2002, 03:05 PM Oh no, I was talking about the real Russians. baa baa. Them and people from montana. c'mon now. I will hereby state the following. Any comment made by me on this thread is meant (jokingly, I might add) as an insult to the (and pay attention here) FICTITIOUS civilization represented in the game described by our friend Sealman. The REAL citizens of the city of Rome do not, to my knowledge, eat their own children nor have I heard any rumors concerning the REAL Russians and their farm animals other than the story of Catherine the Great of which I had totally forgotten until right now. I am making fun of people who DO NOT REALLY EXIST and whose name has absolutly no baring on the actual culture they are meant to represent. You might just as well name them after my home town of Philadelphia or my very family. The point is I'm making fun of FICTITIOUS people. got it? That said I would like to say that all comments made about Babylonians are directed at both the fictitious ones and the real ones. They're stupid jerks!
EQandcivfanatic May 28, 2002, 07:37 PM Havent heard any rumors about Russians? I have heard too many to fit in a thread. We Orlandoians love making fun of people foolish enough not to live in Florida. Can tell you some about people who live in Montana too.
Eric The Fish May 29, 2002, 08:35 AM I really don't know anything about people from montana, I just figured it was a good state to pick for beastiality jokes (i.e. lots of farmland). I was going to say W Virginia but that's more of a sister thing. And, trust me, I live in a wonderful area to make fun of people. To the west there's the rest of the wonderful state of Pa (otherwise known as North West Virginia). To the east there's the (tee-hee) "Garden State" or Swampy Completely Flat West Virginia With Lots of Strip Malls/Clubs. And then there's the fabulous town of Philly itself which i won't even get started on.
sealman May 29, 2002, 09:42 AM General Das sets up his defensive forces around Ambrost City. Governor Ambrost has done a wonderful job placing key fortifications along the Russian and America paths to the city. Artillery shells rain down on the American and Russian forces as the march towards the city. Once they arrive, the enemy troops are devastated and are no match to the fresh defenders of the city and each attack is thrown back with more and more ferocity. Ambrost City will not fall to the evil whims of the Russians and their American lackeys.
Out in the waters around the Isles, Admiral Fish and his fleet continue to harass Russian and American reinforcements to the isles, General Das feels that a strong push out of the city can retake the islands in the name of India, all he needs are more reinforcements, which continue to arrive daily. Soon, the forces in and around Ambrost City are greater than the Russian and American combined forces. Then, the Islands will return to their rightful owners.
______
Sailing from India to Russia, Admiral EQ sails past the remains of an Aztec Fleet. They engaged a Russian force steaming towards Azteca and a bloody sea battle ensured. No reports on the Russian Naval presence in the area so EQ’s fleet is on heightened alert. As the fleet approaches the Russian coastline and the city of Kiev, Russian surface ships are sighted and bombed. A few Russian ships make it close enough to threaten the transports but never get off a shot. Two Transports of Marines lead by General Hamlet, once again Hamlet’s family charges head on into an enemy controlled city. Indian casualties are high but Kiev falls to the might of India. As the docks and harbor of Kiev are secure, word is sent out to the fleet and the rest of the invasion forces unloads. India’s foothold in Russia is secure.
______
General Foot and his force of romp through the pastures and fields that once belonged to the Babylonian Empire. He has orders to assist German and Iroquois forces in their war against Babylon. General Foot’s forces suffer few casualties as German and Iroquois forces converge on the Babylonian capital of Babylon. Foot orders his troops to rest as they set up camp in the mountains to the north of the city. They have a perfect vantage point for the combined assault on the city. They watch the Babylonian flag fall and cheer as the Iroquois flag is raised over the city. As the men begin to celebrate, the Indian pickets bring in some prisoners, members of the Babylonian Government. A smile comes to the face of General Foot, he may not have had the honor of hoisting the Indian flag over a capture city, but he has captured the remains of the Babylonian leaders. The Babylonian Empire is no more.
_____
As Generals Civanator and Hamlet begin to expand the Indian beachhead in Russia, great leaders of the world have agreed to a type of "World Government" to help prevent blatant aggressions like those acts of Russia and America. Thus the so called, United Nations begins to be constructed in Delhi. The Russians, fearing this organization would hinder their dreams of world conquest begin to construct a similar organization in Moscow.
General Hamlet changes his course of action and instead of capturing cities around Kiev, he turns and heads straight to Moscow. Russia can not complete this organization. General Civanator is given the task of taming the wild Russian folk in the countryside.
General Hamlet arrives outside of Moscow and for once, a Hamlet does not charge into the teeth of a fortified enemy. He is aware that he does not have to take the city, just isolate it from the rest of Russia, which he does. Parties are sent out and the landscape around Russia is pillaged. Mining camps are overrun and destroyed. Farms are plundered and food is appropriated (the Indians do not believe in theft.)
As the Indian forces continue to have their way with the Russian army, the new United Nations convenes in Delhi. Russian and American diplomats boldly enter the meeting hall and the Russian diplomats demands that he should be president of the council. A look of shock is seen on the faces of the diplomats and the Pierre, the French ambassador (France being the only nation at peace) declares that an election should be held do determine the president. The motion is seconded and passes. The presidential votes are counted and Joel Pierrea, the Indian diplomat, is elected president. Sergi Alexandrovich demands a recount but it is hard to mess up a count to "2".
India wins the election and is able to force a peace on the world. American colonies in the Ambrost isles are given to Egypt. Iroquois and Germany are awarded Russian colonies in the Northern Waters. India is happy with their land holdings and only accepts war reparations. Hostilities end and Peace once again rules the land.
____
Peace settlement is purly fictional, ended the game after the diplomatic win. Who to write about next time?? Should I keep it random???

There better not be any racism in my thread's. I have spent the past 9 years of my life towards fighting racism and will not tolerate it in my stories.
There is nothing wrong with being proud about your country of origin. It is not racism when you support your nation or people, racism is when you denying or punish or harass, etc., another BECAUSE of his race. I have seen none of that here in this thread or in the threads I visit. I hope that it stays that way.

Actually, it may not be. Racism is either a) the denial of something because of your race 2) differential treatment becuase of your race or 3) the threat or percieved threat of physical harm.
Mere taunting may not apply. That may be better described as being a bigot. An example:
Archie Bunker from all in the family was a bigot, not a racist, the same can be said of George Jefferson.
regarding me next game, have not started yet.
