As lost_civ is still on holiday, I'll start the suggestion thread.

Please suggest names for our capital here.

well, since our team name is SABER, maybe we could do something sword related. how about Gladius?

How about Diego? I think you know where I got this one from. ;)

I don't really like Diego. It doesn't fit with our team quite, IMO.

Gladius is kinda nice, undecided on that one.

Why not something to confuse the competition like Ur or Seoul?

I like Gladius.

How about Scymitar or Scimitar. (I prefer the "y" spelling.) It kind of links our team name and our civ.

I'm thinking of something one might place a SABER in, such as a sheath.

Let me go on google and see if the is a more appropriate name for an Ottoman sheath.

How about Baldric (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldric)

How about Baldric (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldric)

Good one again, gbno1fan. :goodjob:

I'm not finding an easy way to translate English to Ottoman, but the English/Turkish dictionaries are there.

Saber in Turkish = süvari kılıcı
sheath in Turkish = kılıç için

So maybe another suggestion would be Kilic

Baldric sounds great to me. I like that best of all.

Kilic and Gladius are nice too, perhaps other city names that could be used at some point...

Scymitar sounds interesting, other than that I agree with Elear.

If we're interested in fantasy / scifi names, how about either Mordor or Trantor?

I agree to Baldric, as well. It does sound good and I have no idea of anything as good.

Baldrick is good. I never knew it's a real word.

Or Not Constantinople?

Well it seems that our capital shall be called Baldrick.

Wow. I never expected to get so much support for Baldric.

I'm glad you all like it.

And for the record, according to the wikipedia article I posted a link to, Baldrick is an acceptable spelling as well.

I'll throw my support behind Baldric too. It's got a good sound.

i would prefer the "Baldric" spelling over the "Baldrick" version.

i would prefer the "Baldric" spelling over the "Baldrick" version.

Aye! :goodjob: I can hear it now...
Alas, poor Rick went bald, so we named the Capital city after him.
