I'm new to Civ4, and so far I've really enjoyed taking over other cities passive-aggressively by getting them to convert to my empire. The only thing I've been doing so far is putting a city as close to the one that I'm targeting as I can and beefing up their culture as quick as I can (I use a Great Artist when one is available).

Are there any more sophisticated strategies for converting enemy cities?
