my friend has a pc and i have a mac. Everytime I login to the internet lobby to play with him, it forces me to download the v2.08 patch again, but never gets installed. I tried to manually install it, but my mac cant. The file is for pc because it is a .exe file. Is there a mac v2.08 patch for mac yet??? if so where can I get it or how can I install the .exe extention patch?

Version 2.08 hasn't been released for the Mac yet. You'll have to wait for Aspyr to get around to developing it. Meanwhile you will not be able to play Warlords against your PC-owning friend, only the "vanilla" version of Civ4.

[UPDATE] It has now. And it works on GameSpy, too :)

I've seen other people saying you can't play PC->Mac, I've personally played from my PC with 2 Mac users (no one was patched)... It was a direct IP connection, they both connected to me, there was a bit of buggyness, by we were able to play... so it is somehow possible to do it

That's good news, though presumably there are not a lot of PC players who are still using version 2.00?

I guess it depends how much you want to play with your mac using friends.. You can always reinstall back to 2.0

Follow up: There are ocasional Out of Syncs, which are annoying, but you can deal with them

Anybody know if 2.08 for the Mac is actually in the works?

I recently got a response from Asyr when I filled out a ticket on their website saying that the patch will be coming out 'very soon', although that could mean anything.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, the Warlords v. 2.08 patch has now been released. It also seems that it is now compatible with GameSpy for cross-platform Internet game hosting.

gamespy works great! in CIVanilla and CIVVarlords
no graphical glitches either (tho sounds are still missing in some parts)

Are any of you on a macbook? So far I see two reports in the patch's thread (me and some other person) that Warlords now crashes on opening, with the new patch, on our macbooks..

Looks like somebody changed the title of the patch from (NO) to (YES), but left the sad face on it.

Edit - That was quick!

With all of the issues that have cropped up (sound, crashing, and a corrupted globe view for me) the sad face should remain.
