I guess you can play just as you would in any game.... you could be an all-out war monger or a diplomat. The trick is to figure out what the others are playing as before they either kill you or trap you in treaties.

I thought that this one was not necessarily AW. But it could be if you guys wanted it to be. It is a pangea of sorts.

well I made the map tile by tile with the intent of it not being AW. You could still play it AW though. Just that some of the elements wouldn't be realized the way I intended.

Beorn can atest to the fact that it is still playable as AW.

If you take Robi D you've got an expert diplomat on your side and a good warmonger to boot. He would probably say he needs work on mm'ing which is right up your alley.

Ok the game is afoot.

I played the 4000BC for everyone and set the passwords (they will be PM'ed shortly)

I named this save smashmouth_000E.SAV. So Simon when you play you have to increment the 000 to 001 and make the E an A. Everyone else should just increment to the next letter.

I played on from this save and I thought that I had set it to emperor level, but it came up as regent. I can keep trying, and finally got it. I haven't made a map in a while and I had to hunt through the menus in the editor.

Anyway here is the first save for Simon.

I have been asked if everyone has same starts. The answer is yes and no. I set the map up with war and diplomacy in mind. So that way neither approach is the best.

This was brought up in one of the spoilers.... so I figured that I'd post this for everyone to see

The game might say regent but when I played from the initial save, I built the city and added the worker and the 2nd citizen was sad... So your setting is emperor. I did this for every player.

It wouldn't let me make a setting on the launch screen... I'm not sure how I should have handled this.

well I could have put you at warlord, but I would have had to take the wheat off of that Tundra ;)

The level really doesn't matter too much except for how much you need to adjust the lux slider and how fast a tech can be researched.

What Civ are you? What turn is it on? I have lots of questions. I'm not unwilling...exactly...but I think you'd have to help me with the turns at first so I can figure out how it works. I haven't been a turnplayer in a PBEM except once in the last MTDG when you, Tubby and a couple of others walked me through a single turn on MSN and told me exactly what to do. :mischief:

We're Sumerians and it's still really, really, really early...iirc.

i have vind but he's more a cheerleader :) ive not had the save for more than 36 hours from memory, im finding it really hard to get into this game when i only see it once every 2 week or so...
