View Full Version : Trains Don't Load/Unload, Stuck forever
dhodhee Dec 20, 2006, 06:21 AM The trains just stop at a station and stay there for "eternity".
Chronology : lay a track between 2 cities, passenger stick a train on it, most of the time the train just sits there at the station and off course make me losing money. Sometimes it'll load up, offload passengers, return and just sit there again. Also, sometimes, if I put more than one carriage, the 1st will load but not the next. This happen also to non passenger train
Whyyyyyyyy, plz anyone help me, firaxis plz send my money back

SOLUTION FROM EUROPESUPPORT AND WORK FOR ME:
Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for contacting Take 2 Technical Support.
Please follow the instructions below which should get the game working correctly for you :
Hold the Alt key down and press tab (the key above Caps lock on a standard keyboard layout)
This will minimise the game and show the windows desktop. Click on the Sid Meier's Railroads! button on the taskbar to enter the game again. This should start the train moving once again and prevent it from delaying its journeys any further
Kind Regards,

Jobeo Dec 20, 2006, 05:21 PM when you setup the route for a train you're most likely clicking the little button that tells the train to wait until its full before leaving the station... make sure you don't click this button if you want the train to leave right away
also i posted a thread yesterday for newcomers you can see one of my savegames and get an idea for how to setup complex routes and really start making money fast...
beks Dec 23, 2006, 09:25 AM Hi all
I have a similar problem, for example my coal mine have supply 5, I put 4 carriages, but only one get fully loaded, and train never leaves, box for "wait until full" is uncheked. Then I tried to delete this train, and put a new one with only one carriage, this time train leaves, but never arrives (it's stucked with 6 kmph in station, but doesn't unload), this town has demand for coal. My game is v1.10, but same thing happend with v1.0 too.
I like this game (as other sids games), but if this problem don't get solved, there's no point in playing it.
Thanks

Nope, i'm not checked wait untill full, same as beks, that's really annoying, until now i can't play my sid railroads. It's just suck
Hugin1 Dec 25, 2006, 08:18 PM I have excactly the same problem as described.
My trains stop at the stations but still show about 4mph and don't "get" there. They are stuck forever. Annoying.
dhodhee Dec 25, 2006, 11:08 PM i've already update my graphics driver, using ATI, and patches 1.01 and 1.10, but the problems still there, i'm so confused, it seems i can't play this game 4 ever
AlabamaCajun Dec 26, 2006, 10:04 AM This might be a bug but I see this happen when I overshop a resource. They only produce so much a month before running out. You have to look at the resource available number by hovering the mouse pointer over it. Run a spur to another resource of the same type and route some trains to it. Also, have that coal train change consist at the station pick up goods and run them over to a station that needs them. When it returns, the coal should be caught up.
I recently had a problem with trains going in circles which drove me nuts. What I finally found was a section of track not connected to form a switch which put the routing AI out to pasture!
JediPwnces Dec 29, 2006, 10:11 AM Yeaaaah.... This has been driving me nuts. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, patched and repatched... and I couldn't get those stubborn trains to unload (therefore, could not make money!). I read on GameFaqs (here) (http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=932338&topic=32633801) that you need to turn off antialiasing... in options, under the graphics tab. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to. Hopefully it will be as simple (if a little weird) a fix as this.
JediPwnces Dec 29, 2006, 10:16 AM Ok. Just tried it... my antialiasing option was already set to None, so being the experimental and illogical soul that I am, I set it to the max (4x), and lo... the trains are running. I have no idea what antialiasing even means, but y'all might try fiddling around with that option. :)
Lord Nazh Dec 31, 2006, 08:44 PM You will have to change the anti-aliasing each time you load the game. Change it to anything and the game will work fine.
Seems some people didn't have this problem, but I did. Each time I load the game, I pause it and change the AA, then play.
beks Jan 01, 2007, 02:19 PM thx a lot. I turned antialising off and everything seems to be ok.
