On occasion, usually after heavy diplomatic negotiating, the game will slow down to less than half speed and stay that way until it is saved and restarted. This time, I had the crash logger open and here's the relevant section:

Dunno what it means, hope someone else does.

Have you tried emailing Infograme's tech support on this problem? They might be able to help you out.

I have had the exact same thing happen a few times during my current game. No crashes, just the massive slowdown (OS X). Only a save/restart has fixed it for me as well. I didn't notice the link to the diplo sessions. I'll try to pay attention next time.

Let us know if you get any response about this or I'll fire off a report as well. I have no crash log to provide, though... yet...
