A Little while ago I noticed a thread called "The Unwinnable Game" in which the writer started off on a nice little island, all by himself, with no luxuries :eek: !

The same has hapened to me, (persians, monarch, large map no barbs) and I though want has happened thus far should make an interesting tale. More soon to come.

The only real unwinnable games are those in which you are rolled over in the first few turns.

In a game like this, the goal is to *avoid* making contact for as long as possible, and to get the great library. If both of these things can be done, the GL can be used to get MASSIVE amounts of free tech. In a game that Charis and Sirian played, they did the same thing, and got 18 free techs!
