Best Total War Game

I have Total War Eras (boxset for all except M2TW) and M2TW.

Medieval 2, though its far from bugless

Rome: Total War. But only until we get a better computer, and then M:TW2.

But it is nice to slice hoplites by locking them with infantry and rushing with cavalry to the back.

Viking Invasion, both the new Vikings! era, and the three Medieval eras.

Even better with the host of patches out there, like Napoleonic Wars and Version 2.0

Definitely Rome:TW. Medieval didn't do anything for me, but I guess I didn't spend as much time playing it as Rome.

Medival 1+ 2 outclassed Rome and i had bought Medival 1 in the Eras boxset AFTER Rome

I had Medieval 1 and Viking Invasion before I had Rome, and have always thought Rome to be better.

Rome Total War with the Rome Total Realism Mod installed.

I've got RTW, RTW barbarian Invasion, Shogun Deluxe, and MTW2.

One thing though: The Medieval and Ancient eras have been used so much there'd be little point in another one; so what, if anything, will the next Total War game be? Imperialism Total War would be good, colonizing the new world (as in all of it, and possibly africa too).

I don't think so. Would require too much changes to the original code. It wouldn't feel like a Total War game.

There was a Napoleonic mod for Rome Total War, it shouldn't be too hard to create a modernish one: maybe 18th or 19th century?

Yes. IMO, everything RTW should've been and more...

Medieval II: Total War is by far the best. Rome was fantastic, and the first I ever played and will always have a place in my heart (:lol: How corny did that sound? :cringe:) Medieval II is great because the factions are more modern, and you actually know who you are invading. Graphics and battles are both brilliant, as is the soundtrack.

Rome was awesome thanks to my fascination of Roman history. I love conquering an empire, or bashing it down as a barbarian faction! Barbarian Invasion added an interesting twist to the game, further elaberating on destroying the Roman Empire. Great game!

Medieval II outshines it though.

ive only played shogun:total war and medival total war 2 but i like medival total war a lot more :D but the auto-resolve keeps cheating on me! :sad:

Shogun and mtw1 were the best for me. After rome, the series felt like it was all graphics and no substance.

Medieval 2: Total War for me

MTW1 with Viking Invasion.

I will reevaluate my decison on M2:TW once CA have fixed all the bugs.
