So, I'm here alone because I'm the technical man of our project and nothing has made the problem go away. It's not the best thing to be after a sleepover crash project making session, since I think I'm still tired from that, but, hey, you know, you do what you have to in order to make a grade.
Pointless introduction aside, we're making a movie of Hiroshima. The camcorder we recorded everything on records everything as a .MOD file, which won't work with Windows Movie Maker.
The only movie making program I have is Windows Movie Maker, and due to financial issues, I can't get anything else unless it's free
So, denizens of the Computer Talk area: I pose this dichotomy (also I'm not sure if I used that word correctly):
I can make the .MOD files work on my computer. I tried renaming the extension to .mpg. It appeared to work (after all, it showed up when I tried to import the video), but it said I needed a codec. What codec do I need to get, and is there a link for it?
I can get another free movie making program. The key word here is free. Links would be nice too. Not having to search for it using a search engine would make my life easier.
