View Full Version : Which cities should be in which province?
donsig Apr 10, 2002, 07:42 PM Should our provinces be organized geographically or according to the order in which our cities are built?
If our first province is composed of the first five cities built then province two would contain Civinator and Pherris plus the next three cities that are built.

Immortal Apr 10, 2002, 09:33 PM I think the elected governor should put fourth a motion after he has won the election and be inaugriated (sp?). As each of the candidates may have different plans for division, of course, the president and moderator can defeat any such motion.
Cyc Apr 10, 2002, 09:49 PM if we were to go geographically, the core province might look like this. This would be 6 tiles out NE, SE, SW, and NW. the tiles going N, S, E, W would only extend 5 away from the capital, keeping with the way all civ games trim the corners. from here, we could extend imaginary lines out NE, SE, and SW to further divide the territory into quadrant type provinces, and fudge the lines to accommodate outer city placement.
Cyc Apr 10, 2002, 09:56 PM rather than edit that monster above, i'll just say that the last imaginary quadrant line should be going S as opposed to SW.
Cyc Apr 10, 2002, 11:04 PM As the President and Domestic leader will probably push for dense city placement later, as they did in the begining, we might think about how to deal with more than 5 cities in a geogrphically determined province. Actually, now that i think about it, in a province determined by any means...
I think its way too early for a poll. more discussion is needed.
disorganizer Apr 11, 2002, 04:49 AM i would propose the following placement of the provinces with 3 provinces at the beginning, where the ones except the first could later if growing too big be split at the dotted yellow lines
the border of the first province would be the line fox-nest->khatovar->Pherris->Shailo, the second province would till now contain PDX and Civinator and will be expanded by the to-be-captured american cities.
the third province will be our buffer-settlement to the south of civinator.

The only way in which I supported dense building was in the case of the port city west of Fox's Nest. Otherwise, I prefer a more spread out build, though I do make exceptions.
Grey Fox Apr 11, 2002, 11:34 AM I will not push for dense build if I don't see it's necessary. The portcity west of the Capital should be built though.
Shaitan Apr 11, 2002, 01:01 PM I wouldn't worry about deciding provincial boundaries. As cities are added the districts can evolve. Keep a province as 5 cities. If a new city is added within a province it is under that governor's jurisdiction until the next vote. At his time the map gets redistricing to return provinces to 5 cities each.
