I spend my breaks in school surfing in the library. A lot of sites are blocked and I get around it with this (http://www.mathtunnel.com). Now the school blocked it aswell. Anyone know a similar site.
thank you,

If you're using a lab computer, then I doubt there's any way you can get around their filters that will remain unblocked - after all, you shouldn't have administrator access to the computer.

In my case, the administration at the college I go to decided it would be a good idea to filter the dorms' internet access. So I use Tor (http://tor.eff.org) to get around it. However, I don't think it will work in your case, as it requires installing software onto the computer, which shouldn't be allowed on a lab computer.

Proxify.com/.net/.biz/.co.uk/.us/etc

Costs money but is well worth it. They provide hundereds if not thousands of URLs to get around blocks. My old school caught on to five of them in week but I had plenty left. All in all I lost 20 urls to blocking. But I could still acess the site.

Would it be possible to install Tor to a USB drive?

Possibly. But depending on any limits put on you by the Sys admin you might not be able to use the drive.

they let you use the flash drive alright. those comps are so old besides usb, they only have floppy drives, which makes sure that i can use flash

If they are old then they might not be using USB 2.0, which your flash drive needs. I tried to plug a flash drive into a USB 1.1 drive and the computer didn't accept it. :(

I had the same trouble at my school, I had dial-up at the time, but a friend of mine set up a proxy at his house that could be connected to from the school for web access.

My flash drive works on 1.1 or 2.0.

USB 2.0 works just fine with 1.1 actually, it just has slower speeds

Indeed. That, however, wasn't the point. MC apparently has a 2.0 stick that won't work in 1.1. So I was bragging that I do. :smug:

it also can depend on the brand, since some sticks need drivers that dont work backwards

it is a school library and we are using thin clients. No possibility to install stuff.www.mathtunnel.com something like this is the only possibility.

Heh, my school uses NetVista Proxy to limit stuff. It's kind of lame, but at least it doesn't block anything I want to go to. They've resorted to taping a pink piece of paper saying "NO GAMES, SHOPPING (etc etc etc)" on the top of all the monitors!

My school stopped computer classes for everyone but 1st years and T.Y. students because there pcs were so old, everyone could get where they wanted, blocked or not
