I was just wondering which console ppl think is best, me i'm going for the PS3

The only reason I'm getting the Wii is beacuse of Super Smash Brothers Brawl

i'm sorry i can only understand the idea of getting the Wii as the person not wanting to spend much, but Wii is not really value for money anyway becuase its something you would get bored of in 10 minutes, i mean the Wii controller is a really cool idea and it would be the best if it was put on a console with the graphics and the amount of functions as the XBOX 360 and PS3

Why would you get bored of it within 10 minutes?

What use would the contoller be for anything but games?

Graphics are for idiots, give me a decent original game any day.

Very pleasantly surprised with the Wii, especially for the funtimes that multiplayer brings. Will wait it out to see how the games over the next year shape out, but I could see myself getting one someday :)

Until then I'm happy with my PC, and will stick with it over the consoles.

I want a Wii. I like my compy though. But a Wii will offer a different type of game, which shall be fun!

I wonder if we will be able to avoid fanboy wars. I hope so! :D

Not counting the fact that if I could use the Wiimote for PC I would definately shell out $50. Maybe. Also I prefer PCs rather than console, especialy for mods.

Yes. My computer is far better than these. But if I had to choose one of the three, I believe the PS3 is the best. Sony for it's outrageous prices does make an awesome product. Oh I grant you the 360 and Wii are great, but in most regards I don't think they compare to the PS3. PS2 kinda shut out the competition last time, XBOX did better than I thought, but GameCube kinda tanked out.

Well that's understandable. I haven't been to yahoo in a while, but apparently they've really upped the quality and interactivity of their games. I'm heading over there now to check out Zelda.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have a 360, have a slight interest in a Wii, and none in a PS3 (despite having a large catalog of PS2 games). I'll wait until a few more games come out for the Wii though.

But yeah, I want a 360. I have two good friends, one of whom is getting a ps3, and one who has a Wii, so all i need is the 360 to complete the trifecta

Wii Sports and Wii Play are basically just party games, which can be used to get used to the Wiimote. I doubt you would find Twilight Princess on Yahoo.

Never had any interest in consoles because I didn't had the money to invest both in a PC and a console.

Now I have the money, but my interest in games has much diminished. However the very original Wii controller has fixed my attention. It looks like much fun to play, for example, tennis with a bunch of friends. The Wii looks like something for all ages and gender...
So value for money, I guess

I own an Xbox 360, I like the PS3 too, but it's really expensive. PC is still the best game platform IMHO.

I'm getting a 360 for the following reasons:

2. It doesn't have a gay name like "WII!"
3. Halo 3
4. GTA 4
5. Madden 08
6. It's cheaper

They made a version of Twilight Princess for the Gamecube so there is no need to upgrade. I have another disc with NES and SNES versions of Zelda for it too.

Aside from Zelda all my favorite games are PC anyway.

I'd say 2, being Games, and graphics level.

I'd say it's a solid 6. Those games don't come out on the Wii, except for Madden, but it looks incredibly stupid on that. It's cheaper than the PS3. It's got similar graphics.

the reasons i want the PS3 is

1) I am used to the controllers as i have a PS2
2)i dislike the both the Xbox and Xbox 360 controllers
3) I am like how the PS3 can browse the internet unrestrictedly instead of just having a online store
4) i dnt mind paying more for it
5) It has a 60GB hard drive instead of the 360's 20GB hard drive
6) I think that the motion sensing on the controller will be good
7) Becuase the Wii is graphicly rubbish and its controller is the only gd thing about it

PS3 and 360 might be the platform for CIv5 so Id elimate the the WI on those grounds right there. Being this is A Civ web site what would you expect for critera from me?

Anyway I was PS2 happy in the past so Id upgrade to 3 if that lead designer's quote "the console sure looks tempting" has any merit toward the next sequals home system

I guess this came about wanting a stable platform to go out confidently in building what he realy wants in CIv game for once without compilcations due to various components unique design performance issues getting in the way like it did with CIv4( He was answering to the heat of a ton of custumer tech troubles concerning his product when he made that comment, so I take his threat with alot of salt, being its like a, " hey! lay off man! or I'll go console on you guys!" type thing

Essentially I don't really care about graphics - they are nice and everything, but I see nothing wrong with the wii graphics

PS3 for me, i have the GCube : bored ! DS : cool but games a few boring past few hours !

Actually I'm a little surprised by the lack of XBox 360 votes, even though my personaly opinion is that tany Microsoft console is best used for flushing down toilets...
