Is there a world map 24 civs for Mac warlords?

I can't seem to get Rhye's to work... Just the normal civs pop up... I haven't seen any post about this when I search the mac forum.

doesn't seem to work... You put it into the mods folder and load it up... Should work, correct?

It is just 18 civs, non of the new ones...

Other then plugging the maps into the public map area, I have no other idea of how to get it to work...

There's a clue in the contents of the Assets folder. It includes a CvGameCoreDLL.dll file, which is a Windows dll created with the Windows SDK. The Mac version doesn't know it exists, and certainly can't do anything with it.

Yep, youre right, shoot. I had not seen that. I am currently playing on a 18Civ worldmap, its a bit different then the going map and one needs to Worldbuild the starting positions by oneself. Just to be sure I have inlcluded that one anyway.

Again I cant remember who made this, wasnt me though!

You can also use the 18 Civs map from vanilla. You just need to rename it so that it is has the warlords world builder save extension "CivWarlordsWBSave". That map is in the Civ4 app folder in PublicMaps. It only has the original civs, but you can replace those with warlords civs and/or move them around.

Playing warlords with the 18 civs on an earth map will be fun, but it would be nice if a Mac 24 civ earth map could work for the mac.

24 is just a little bit better....

How does one go about switching in the warlords civs and changing everything around. Do you just load the game and do it all in world builder? If so then explain how to switch in and out civs out of the 24. The rest I think I got.

AlanH...

In the PC version it is enough to change a line in the ini file. As I have tried to find a simular file for Mac, so I could override the 18 max, I failed.
Can you do some of the magic you have done in the past?

And in doing so....We will ove you long time AlanH...:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The CivilizationIV.ini file for Mac Warlords is at ~/Documents/Civilization IV Warlords/CivilizationIV.ini

But I can't see anywhere that you can change the max civ count in that file. I thought it was hard coded into the CivGameCoreDLL file.

I think the answer lies here, but I am not sure if you have a WS based computer to cross reference.

damn...
if only there was a way to get SDK to run on a mac. Then most (if not all) of the not mac-compatible mods would run. and then i could play a 24 civ game.

The zip contains a mod, because it contains a modded DLL that allows 24 civs
I think that agrees with my statement that you have to modify the DLL to run 24 civs. That is not an answer for Mac players.

What is a WS based computer, and how would it help?

Everyone:

I've modded the Europe map that came with Civ IV so that it has the six Warlords civilizations in roughly their historical starting locations (there's a total of 13 civilizations on the Europe map, BTW).

I can post it, but I have one question: When I was going through the XML file for the map, I noticed a line that seemed to assign "ownership" of the map to my computer (it said, "[MY NAME]'s game"). Do I need to remove that line in order for it to work on another's computer? Or will the file simply not work properly w/o that line in there?

Which file's it in? I imagine it's just a label for the map file, and may be displayed when it starts up. It certainly won't lock the map to any specific machine.

Alan:

Hmm. I thought it was in the map's XML file, but, going back over it, that appears to not be the case. The "ownership" line is in the .ini file.

Now, I just tried to upload the map, but it says its an invalid extension. I don't get it; I thought WB saves were uploadable. What have I done wrong now?

This is the file's name: EuropeMap.CivWarlordsWBSave

How the heck is that an invalid extension?

*shrug* For what it's worth, I did attach a map of Europe with 13 civilizations in their historical starting positions, including the Celts, Carthaginians, Vikings and Ottomans (the four European Warlord civs).

The resources aren't historical, though. I just scattered them willy nilly. Oh, how I miss the random resource generator that Civ II's map editor had.
