Hi There!

I have this problem on my notebook, where if I play Railroads under XP with sound enabled in device manager. The soundcard is Realtek HD Audio. I have tried 4 versions of the drivers, original and 2 patches of Railroads.

Basically when I play railroads with sound enabled, the game pauses every second for a second. Both sound and video pause.

I have tried everything I can think of, nothing works.

Everything works ok in vista. I emailed 2K games twice and not even an auto reply. I am desperate to get this working. Could anyone recommend something?

I seem to remember having this problem with another game, and I had to turn off the music to get it working without the pauses.

Consider investing in a standalone video card rather than using your motherboard's on-board audio (IIRC, Realtek is onboard audio).

Onboard's usually ok, except in more demanding games/apps...
