View Full Version : The Never-Ending Story...
uknemesis Apr 14, 2002, 09:29 PM I'm beginning a story which we can all write, and it should hopefully never end. Basically, I start by writing a bit, then someone else writes a bit, then another person, and so on. You can write as many times as you like, just let someone else write a bit before you write your next piece. And it's for everyone, so if you feel like having a go at writing in this, do so!
Now this should be interesting lol! Oh, and the story isn't going to be based on a Civ3 game, but should try and stick naer the Civ3 principle...
GOOD LUCK ALL!
***********************************************
The President reviewed his options. He could strike his enemy first, hitting the build-up point for the invasion, and hopefully catching them with their pants down, so to speak, or he could wait for the invasion to come and try and stop it, or he could try the diplomatic option, getting enough people on his side to make his enemy think twice about attacking.
He was still angered by the declaration of war. That infernal country had demanded all of that stuff from him! And then when he politely refused, declared war!
Well he would show them. This nation was a lot stronger than they thought.
***********************************************
The UN Security Council debated for yet another hour.
"We will stay neutral in any war." the President of France looked down at the table, avoiding all the eyes staring at him in surprise. France had been invaded before by a now-extinct civilisation, and the entire UN Security Council had sent units to crush the invaders. But now, when the shoe was on the other foot, France was unwilling to repay it's debt.
The President tried to remain calm. His nation had sent the largest military force to France to aid it, and this was how he was repaid?!
Then the Secretary General spoke.
"Due to a veto, the war between those two nations is not a UN matter."
Damn those French! the President thought. He saw the French President winking at his enemy.
**************************************************
The fighters dove down to attack the town where all the enemy's troops were massing for the invasion.
They dropped cluster bombs on the tanks, and then began to turn for home, when they saw interceptors coming to meet them from another city.
One launched a missile, destroying one plane in the squadron of six.
The flight leader glanced at his HUD. These were French fighters!
There was three squadrons of French fighters, and they obliterated all remnants of the flight leader's squadron, his plane being the last to be destroyed.
No word had got back to his country that the French were now also involved, covertly or overtly...
************************************************
I know I'm being really open ended, with no mention of any civ other than the French, but this is so that the next few posters can decide this matter. Then in my next post would I be able to start adding in names etc, but first it is up to others to decide who these nations are. And in what way the French have entered the fight... Secretly to avoid the Security Council, or because of some staged incident on the border with them or something?
It's all up to you!

das Apr 15, 2002, 11:00 AM Okay. I even have starting map (based on Civ III Countries):
Sixchan Apr 15, 2002, 11:35 AM Prime Minister Elizabeth Tudor looked at the information on her desk. Her invasion force was gone. Recon planes showed that there had been a massive attack of unknown origin on her troops, and her invasion of Communist America would be postponed for now. But who had attacked? She had her suspicions.
"Ms. Tudor!" the science advisor burst into the room "We just recieved word that a massive radioactive explosion occured on an island in the atlantic controlled by the French! The have some sort of super-weapon!"
Ahh. She thought. Of course, it has to be them. They had supported the Americans in their revolution. And when the Americans were finished on their continent, they're going to turn to us. Typical, then, that the French should take measures to stop the pre-emptive strike.
"Tell the Domestic Advisor to build tanks in every city." She commanded. "We will attack America again as soon as possible. France is next."
The advisor bowed. "Yes ma'am." and left the room.
das Apr 15, 2002, 12:12 PM Daniel Lebedovich Loshadsky, the new Russian president, was alarmed by FSB report. French Secret Superweapon?! British troops heading for America UNDER ATTACK?!
"Kazanski! What is your opinion?"
"Well, Gospodin President, I think that we should try to unite the world against French, for using the weapons of mass destruction."
"Are you out of your mind, they will use it on us!"
"Don't worry. I hope that you remember about Psychorodiye?"
"But it is for emergiencies only!"
"This is an emrgency. Contact Belomirdin immidiatelly!"
"You're right. After all, French kill people, and Psychorudiye doesn not even hurts to them. Only it's immoral, but what is it in relations with that French new weapon. Okay. Contact also with Zulus, Germans, Italians, Belgians, Dutch, British and Irish. I am off to negotiate final union with Belorus, Georgia and Ukraine, in order to bring Kharkov Agreement to action. Oh yes, and tell Belomyrdin to prepare Psychorodiye and place our SAMs on FULL ALARM!"
"Right away, Gospodin President"
The crisis was about to begin...
MightyMaus Apr 15, 2002, 12:42 PM Premier Wilhelm II swiveled his chair around and gazed out the window of his Berlin office, across Marx Square, at the military parade taking place. Panzers rolled slowly across the square, flanked by marching infantry.
"So they have finally done it."
Wilhelm's Military Advisor, General Helmut Kuhn, nodded. "The French have completed their superweapon... they say it will make their inferior numbers in combat a nonissue."
Wilhelm slammed his fist down on his desk. "I must have it."
"Comrade Premier?"
"I must have the weapon at all costs. Yes, yes, we are technically allies of the French, I remember the Treaty of Brussels. But we have to remain wary... I don't want to endanger the people of the Deutsche Democratiche Republik."
The General pondered this for a moment. "We will begin the operation immediately."
The Premier smiled. "Wunderbar. If you'll excuse me, I must get ready for my meeting with the American leader... in the meantime, keep the forces sharp. Heil to the People."
"Heil to the People, Herr Comrade."
das Apr 16, 2002, 11:05 AM NTV and other reporters have surrounded Daniel.
"What would be your response to German pro-French plans?"
"How would you want to use Zulus in the war?"
"What about Romans?"
"Do you think that Belgium and Netherlands will take the risk to fight French and Germans?"
It was hard to answer to them all, but Daniel has made it to Kremlin...
das Apr 17, 2002, 01:50 PM WELL?
Sixchan Apr 17, 2002, 03:43 PM 'President Lebodovich!' Ivan ran into the room, breathing rather heavily. He had just had to muscle his way through a sea of reporters, and now the Russian foreign minister was quite exhausted.
'Ahh, Salkov. What news do you bring me of the world outside mother Russia?' Daniel's strong accent was clearly present, although it had no emotion.
'Sir, it has, as you know, been reported that the french have mastered the secrets of nuclear fission, and completed what is being termed "The Manhattan Project".' I have news that both the English and Germans wish a Mutual Protection Pact.' His voice too, had no emotion. Russia was going through tough times at the moment. In their last war, peace movements had swept the nation very quickly, and to save the government, Russia had to offer 15 gold every year for the next 20 years. With all this stress, it was no surprise to anyone that the cabinet had been slipping in and out of deppression.
'We must consider our options carefully, Salkov. What is your recommendation?' Daniel sighed, as he stared out over Moscow. She walked to her desk, opened a bottle of vodka, and poured two glasses.
'The French are going round all the nations demanding tribute. Should the English or the Germans reject this, we could end up in a war with France. However, our thin resources means we could give no tribute that is demanded by the French. One way or another, we will end up at war with the French.' Salkov picked up the glass, straight up, he swallowed it all. He didn't move a muscle that would show any reaction to something so strong.
'So it is decided. I'd rather have the English and Germans on my side when we fight France. Tell them we accept.'
Salkov bowed, and backing away towards the door, said: 'At once, President.'
uknemesis Apr 17, 2002, 06:12 PM President Shaka of the warrior Zulu people laughed out loud as he heard the tape recordings his Secret Service were playing him from the bugs they had in government offices worldwide, including the White House and many others.
"They think that the French superweapon is our nuclear bomb!" he cackled. The Zulus had detonated a nuclear warhead in the North Atlantic, unknown to the French who owned the island. The French superweapon was mechanised infantry, a unit much less powerful than a nuclear bomb. But now the "great nations of the world" who considered themselves so above the Zulus would tear each other apart.
And he would fan the flames, launching ICBMs at the capital cities of each nation involved in the fight against France to incriminate France further. Then, the war would destroy France and her allies by sheer weight of number against them, and the victors would be weak. Then Shaka and his Zulus could take over the world with ease, forcing everyone into alliances with him because of his nuclear weapon, and anyone who resisted would be destroyed by the modern and powerful Zulu armed forces.
No one had ever considered the Zulus a threat, and so hadn't even bothered to find out how advanced they were.
And now they would pay for underestimating the Zulus.

das Apr 18, 2002, 11:33 AM Daniel had, ironically, as his general secretary, a man also named Daniel. Daniel Salkov. It was decided to ally with Germany and England. Meanwhile, Poland proclaimed it's alliance with French, hoping that French wil lsave them with their superwaepon. But Poland became a testground for Psychooroudiye...

"It's some kind of biological weapon, I think" said a Polish soldier, while trying to escape. It was too late...
Polish soldiers have suddenly fell asleep when the missile fell there. No one was able to awken them, for a month. By that time, Ryssians have occupied Poland.
uknemesis Apr 18, 2002, 01:38 PM Come on guys, start reading each other's posts! Russia has had two different leaders, and Germany has been on both sides!
Nemesis
das Apr 19, 2002, 12:27 PM Okay, let's consider that Germany switched sides, and Salkov had a godfather in Lebedovich.
das Apr 19, 2002, 12:36 PM NTV report from the war was depressing. Rhinelnd was overrun by French! Good that Poland now surrendered, and was divided between Germany and Russia...
Meanwhile, Zulus used the "vacant time" to conquer Botswana and Namibia. Everyone knew that no one will even try to act against them eve nif war breaks out. Meanwhile Swaziland and People's Republic of Zulu have capitualted to Zulu Democratic Republic, as the 5-year long civil war between Communists and Government has ended. Zulus were on the rise, but that was not hing compared to French, who had TWO new superweapons: Mechanized Infantry and The Manhattan Project. Strangely, they haven't used Nuclear Weapon yet, but Mech. inf. had Germans real troubled.
Sixchan Apr 19, 2002, 03:15 PM OKay, for ease of simplicity that everyone can refer to, lets make a list of whats going on.
England:
Leader: Prime Minister Elizabeth Tudor
Government: Democracy
War with: France
Bad relations with: France, America
Mutual Protection Pacts with: Germany, Russia
Important Points: Has been hateful towards America since the War of Independence. While planning a Pre-emptive strike, They were ambushed by French forces. They're NOT happy about it.
France:
Leader: Unkown
Government: Unknown
War with: Germany, England, Russia
Bad Relations with: Everyone Except America
Mutual Protection Pacts with: America
Important points: France has a new super-weapon, Mechanised Infantry. However, due to nuclear testing in the atlantic by the Zulus, the other nations believe France is the first nuclear capable nation. The nations are now suspicious or hateful towards France because they are demanding tribute from everyone. Also attacked Forces belonging to the English that were intended for a Anglo-American war, as a pre-emptive strike. England really hate them for it. Assissted America in its war of Independence against the British.
Germany:
Leader: Unknown
Government: Unknown
War with: France
Bad relations with: France
Mutual Protection Pacts with: France, Russia, England
Important points: Germany's attitude towards France is very sour since France went round demanding tribute. In response, Germany signed MPPs with Russia and England, so that France might not attack all three.
Russia:
Leader: President Lebodovich
Government: Unknown
War with: France
Bad Relations with: France
Mutual Protection Pacts with: Germany, England
Important points:
America:
Leader: Unkown
Government: Communism
War with: All other North American Nations
Bad Relations with: England
Mutual Protection Pacts with: France
Important points: Has been hateful towards England since the War of Independence. Is on the war path, and after it destroys all the nations in America, it's coming for the English. Has VERY good relations with France.
Zulu:
Leader: President Shaka
Government: Democracy
War with: No-one significant (I.e. not a major civ)
Bad Relations with: No-one
Mutual Protection Pacts with: No-one
Important points: Everyone is ignoring them due to a belief they are not very advanced. However, they are in fact just as advanced as everyone else. They possess the nuclear weapon, and are preparing to use it.
Other Points:
The Manhattan Projet problem:
Q) Why haven't the French built nukes, when they have the Manhattan Project?
A) While they had enough Uranium to build the project, they do not have it in sufficient quantity to build a bomb.
If anything else needs to be added, just say.
uknemesis Apr 19, 2002, 07:16 PM Good idea SixChan. Just one point, France must have declared war on Germany to have taken the Rhine, and that probably means they're at war with England and Russia.
And that Catherine/Daniel thing needs to be sorted!
************************************************
Shaka sipped his Martini slowly. He wanted to savour the moment before he ordered the annihilation of Moscow.
He had heard about their use of biological weapons, as had everyone else, and UN Secretary General had made a speech denouncing them for it.
"Launch the inter-continental ballistic misile aimed at Moscow!" he ordered with a smile. He made sure to say the whole name of the missile to drag the moment out longer.
"Yes sir."
Foolish Russians, Shaka thought. Now everyone would wear gas masks, and so their weapon would be useless. Wasted, so early on in the war. And now they were going to pay the ultimate price.
***********************************************
The Russian leader was shoved in the Hind helicopter, and it began to head out of Moscow as fast as possible.
"We have an incoming ICBM!" the Russian Foreign Minister was pale.
"Activate all of our protection pacts. Those French frogs are going to pay!"
***********************************************
The missile hit the Kremlin dead on, and millions of lives were vaporised in an instant.
The French President was horrified. The launch hadn't been caught on any radar, as the ICBMs of today were too advanced to be seen. The only ways of knowing one was coming were either when they were launched, by the heat generated, or once they were in space, and satellites saw them.
The heat had been hidden on this launch, as had the one on the Atlantic island that he now knew about. He had tried to contact other nations to tell them that it wasn't him, but he couldn't get through a communications blackout imposed on his nation by some unknown source. He suspected his enemies, but couldn't shake off the terrible feeling of dread, that someone else might be controlling the action, and that everyone else was pawns in his game.
************************************************
das Apr 20, 2002, 07:58 AM Underground City Moscow, in "Little Kremlin" (a special bunker). Daniel Lebedovich was real worried now. The French were probably the ones guilty. One man has told that Zulus launched it, but Zulus? They were a backwards nation! They oculdn't have done anything like that. It was decided to also ally with Prime Minister Hiawatha of Canada and Aztec High Priest Aztoactl, sicne Americans were allied with French.
Belomyrdin received order to launch a retaliation strike on France. Russians would launch their own Super Weapon - Psychorudiye. Even as there is only one missile left, they will stop French army in Rhineland, and let Germans take all of them in. As December was ending, Moscow had a nuclear winter. But thsi French action has enraged everyone. Soon, Spain, Portugal, Algiers, and Egypt have delcared war on them, and India, Persia and Babylon have closed all the trade with them. Kuwait, the last Eurasian country supplying oil to French, was overrun by Babylonain leader Saddam Hussein's army.
NTV Reports only said about new American victories against Aztecs and Canadians: at Niagara Falls and at Bajotchitlan.
das Apr 20, 2002, 08:23 AM New World Map.
uknemesis Apr 20, 2002, 09:50 AM General Secretary of America, Abraham Lincoln, glared at each of his Generals in turn.
"What do you mean, we don't have the oil?"
"Sir, not only has everyone closed the oil reserves to France, but to us as well. A British SAS attack on our Alaskan oil fields has put them out of action for weeks, and we only have the oil for two weeks of normal use."
"Then stop the civilians using oil! Our tanks are on the outskirts of Salamanca! We can bring the war to a close soon! To hell with the people, they'll be much happier without a war! So use the damned oil to take Salamanca! And as for those backwards Aztecs, send more of our cavalry regiments down there. The best unit the Aztecs have is the knight, and possibly a musketman, and so they can be destroyed the good old fashioned way." Lincoln ordered.
"But sir, that will cripple our economy!"
"Let it be done, we can recover once the war is over. After it is over, we severe all ties to France and stay neutral in any war for the next five years, we need to rebuild!"
************************************************** *
EQandcivfanatic Apr 20, 2002, 06:21 PM In the Italian capitol of Rome the President was reading reports from his allies in Eygpt. Eygption spies reported that the Zulu were testing out their own super weapon and that they were not as backwards as they seemed. As the continueing wars were fought Italy continually stayed neutral but when the President saw this report he knew that the Zulu must have something planned for this superweapon.
"Call for the local Mafia cheif," the President said. We will give the Zulu something to worry about he thought without them knowing we did it. "You called sir?" said the mafia cheif. "We must eliminate the Zulu superweapon threat. Shaka Zulu is very unstable and may try to use his weapon to wipe their nearest major neighbor and our allies, the Eygptions," the President said. "I know you have a contact in the Zulu cabinet. Use him to eliminate Shaka." "Yes, sir."
A news report in Zululand: An attempt was made on our glorious leader's life last night by an agent of Italy. Our people will not stand for this and we have sent a massive army to wipe them off the face of the earth.
LKendter Apr 20, 2002, 06:57 PM The Zulu SuperWeapon is a myth -
A ploy to waste everyone time and efforts looking for a vaporweapon.
They hide something far more terrible.
The Zulu have completed the first successful time machine.
LeBlow TeUp - the French inventor of the bomb will never exist. The first human - joked by some as the terminator - steps into the machine and ...
das Apr 21, 2002, 10:51 AM ...And LKendter leaves this thread after his plot to do something stupid fails.
das Apr 21, 2002, 11:16 AM Daniel Lebodovich knew, that it was now a closed case. He managed to close the import of Oil to France and America. With this blockade, they will be forced to withraw to non-mechanized warfare. Without cars, their people will rebel. Without tanks, their military will slowly dismantle.
Meanwhile, Psychorudiye just hit the French in Rhineland, and they were all captured by Germans, and kept as PoWs.
------------------
French Prime Minister Jacques Echeleau was alarmed by this. He didn't had any weapons of mass destruction since 1990! And this new weapon! Ofcourse not! Someone is framing his people, and now the whole world is against him! Plus, Russian superweapon has freezed all of the French troops in Rhineland! He needed to make a ceasefire, while FADE (Francoise Agencie d' Etat) will investigate the ones who was really responsible for this nuclear weapon.
Sixchan Apr 21, 2002, 01:20 PM 12 English Battleships were on the coast of France now, heavily bombarding the ports and slightly inland towns. However, the French resolve was great, and they were withstanding the attacks.
"Why isn't anything being destroyed?" Demanded the Prime Minister.
"Madam, the French's new Mech. Infantry are very formidable. Compared to these guys, we have an average military!" The Military Advisor was very unhappy, he might have lost his job if the attacks went badly.
There was a buzz on the intercom. It was the head of MI6.
Elizabeth pressed a button. "Prime Minister Tudor speaking, what have you to report?"
The woman on the other end sounded ecstatic.
"Madam, you won't believe our latest success our spies have had! Our agents in America have returned with-"
***
"An F-15?" General Secratary Lincon flew into a blind rage against the Military advisor. "How could you allow your security to become so lax? This means that the English will gain our Air Power! Couple that with their RAF Spitfires, and their powerful navy, and now we won't stand a chance in an invasion! Our only ally in Europe will be destroyed! And it's all your fault! I'll have your head for this advisor! Guards! Place the Military Advisor under arrest for High Treason!" Lincon sat down to consider a new plan of action.
***
Elizabeth was laughing her head off with glee. The bugs her spy had planted in the White House had let her listen to the whole thing. But now she had to consider what to do with 'her' new plane. She could keep it a secret and use it herself, she could share it amongst the three allies, or she could sell them off to the highest bidder. Whatever she did, she would be laughing all the way to Paris. It was then that the diplomatic com line beeped. The viewer had sky blue writing, and the text read,
Abraham Lincon on Channel 6.
das Apr 22, 2002, 12:33 PM General Wilhelm Adenberg was real nervous. Where were those Russians?!
Finally, Lieutenant Trondheim has reported arrival of main Russian forces. Now, he needed to ask General Arthur Norton (English commander) is here ready to begin. After positive answer, and after Russians rested for a hour after the march from Warsaw, to Rhineland, Operation "Zagranpohod Kutuzov" was launched, codenamed by the Russian nickname of the Napoleonic Wars after Campaign of 1812.
After Action Reports sent to the HQ have summarized their operations like this:
Germans: During those 7 first days, we've taken Strasbourg and soem other Lorrainean and Alsacean cities, towns and villages. Russians have covered up us very well, by taking the main MEch. Inf. counterattack of 12-15th April, on themselves. French forces had defeats during the first day, and new forces arrived only after two days. By the end of the first campaign, French were smashed...
Russians: Despite our high casualities, our attack went just fine. First we entered Alsace with Germans, and we managed to distract French from Calais, then we won battle at Metz, about whih you've heard. We lost 1000 men on this one, but 1500 Frenchmen died, 3000 gave up, after they've heard of English landing, and fall of Strasbourg. Then, just like we planned, we've captured Arras, and the french in Picland gave up. mEanwhile English have captured Calais, an we've met at Agincourt,. The campaign was a great success! I must say that Operation "Zagranpohod Kutuzova" really was a success of Russian weapon!
English: And they say that Mech. Inf. is invincible!. While Russians blown up thsoe weapons, they've even managed to apture one almost with no damage to it! Now we will built our own Mech. Inf!
But anyway, here is the timeline of our activities:
2003:
11th April - Massive bombardment of Calais, combiend with German invasion of Alsace have lured out the French from Calais.
12th April - Bombardment contineus. RAF Spitfires of Aircraft Carrier "Cromwell" have shown us that those Spitfires easily destroy this Mechanized Infantry! Hehe!
13th April - Enemy is finally distracted enough. Today Royal Marines have landed in Calais! Our casualities: 46 killed|109 wounded/4 captured.
14th April - After assault of the local mayor's House, French have finally gave up in Calais. Our casualities: 19 killed|178 wounded|0 captured
15th April - Boulogne is taken. Our casualities: 22 killed|93 wounded|7 captured
16th April - French are goofing up. Today, we met with RUssians on the historical site of Agincourt.

das Apr 23, 2002, 11:11 AM Well?
philippe Apr 23, 2002, 11:43 AM it was weird for belgium as a sole neutral country spared from the destruction of the russians and the germans.
but then dutch tanks where marching over the border and invaded antwerp.
prime minister guy verhofstadt stared at the maps
and said:what now?
well we have our famouis leopold tanks and we could invade maastricht but the dutch tanks will then problably invade brussels.
the miltary adivsor shouted:well use our f-15 the pride of the belgian army and let uss kick some dutch ass!
so a couple of f16 bombarded dutch tanks and the netherlands had to retreat.
but antwerp was in ruins.......
because antwerp is razed we cannot have resources so we cannot build tanks!
said the trade advisor
well then said verhofstadt
now we must use project-HPLW.(High Power Lazer Wapean)
what?!?use project-HPLW? are you crazy?
that is still experimental!said the culture advisor who had a affair with the domestic advisor.
we will use it...........
(to be continoud)
EQandcivfanatic Apr 23, 2002, 12:25 PM Very nice map Das, slightly cluttered, but nice map. :goodjob:
Sixchan Apr 23, 2002, 05:20 PM the miltary adivsor shouted:well use our f-15 the pride of the belgian army and let uss kick some dutch ass!
Hey, hey, hold on! Only the Americans possess F-15s, although the English have 1. Also, such a minor conflict is very incidental, and not much use on a world theatre. Also, since there have been no relations between England and Belgium, and I haven't even written the Anglo-American correspondance, I propose we disregard philippe's post.
I have work to do, so I'll make this quick.
"Ah, Mr. Lincon. How nice of you to join me. To what do I owe the occasion?" Elizabeth put on as innocent a look as possible, sat back in her chair and put her feet on the desk.
"You know damn well why I've contacted you, Ms. Tudor." Lincon frowned a look of loathing down the Video Link. "A Highly powerful, secret military aircraft was stolen from a top secret base in the Rocky Mountains. You have one of the best spy networks in the world, and I know you stole it."
Elizabeth faked looking hurt. "Why Mr. Lincon, I am shocked that you would even think such a thing of me! I would never, ever intrude on you, and would never consider staling anything of yours. I am so deeply hurt!" Elizabeth sat up and put her face close to the screen. Her sadness turned to a triumphant smirk, and then to an evil smile. "But I would hate to see you in distress, so I might be persuaded to give you a plane my scientists have just developed. I call it the F-15. Perhaps you might want to have that instead? For a price of course."
Lincon's loathing got stronger, and it was clear in his face. "I'll give you a thousand gold, an American Worker, and the secrets of Nuclear Fission."
"I am SO glad we could come to an agreement on this. Now I'm late for my milk bath, and I shant keep you waiting. Toodle-oo!"
Elizabeth closed the link, waited a minute, then opened up the link with her good friend Daniel Lebodovich.
"Daniel, I have the schematics for a plane I have GOT to show you!"
das Apr 24, 2002, 10:33 AM Now wait a second!

Three days laterm in Paris:
Jacques Echeleau was really angry now: "You ar just 23 years old! And even as you were in girl scouts and just joined the army... Oh well, Joan, what can we do. I will give you command of our forces in Isle de Franc. If you will keep Russians, Germans and English from Paris for two weeks, by that time we will prove that someoen else was guilty in the nuclear attack on Moscow. IF yo ufail... Well, I am desperate now, anyway... Joan d' Arc, you are now General of our troops in Isle d' Franc."
"Sire yes sire!" - answered Joan d' Arc.

Done. Daniel Slakov is now Ivan Salkov. I think you mentioned him too, so if you changed it, everything would be just fine.
IDEA: Since this will most likely descend into nuclear war, why not finish the Civ story where Alpha Centauri begins?
Refrence for SMAC:
Prokhor Zakharov - Russia
Pravin Lal - India
Dierdrie Skye - Scotland/England
Corazon Santiago - America
Miriam Godwinson - America
Shen-Ji Yang - China
Nabwudike Morgan - Zulus
I think it would be a cool way to finish it, but we would need to put them in soon.
das Apr 25, 2002, 12:02 PM Thanks.
das Apr 25, 2002, 12:15 PM Soldiers were surprised by seeing a teenage girl leading them to battle. But she was energgetic, and soldiers were inspired to fight! All of French remaining forces have moved to Ile d'Franc. The battle for Paris has begun!
------------------------
Lefayette has approached a closed area near Hlobane - Diamond Fort. It was guarded very well, but he managed to find a communist among the guards, who agreed to help. He passed through, using the new password, which was changed daily.
"French Sigar, blah blah Lincoln Beard!"
He was answered:
"This is not 22 99 o'clock!"
He passed through....

General Alexei Zakavkazskiy has led his troops into battle personally, fighting in the frontline. Now to take Paris!
Sixchan Apr 25, 2002, 03:50 PM "Look! On the Seine!"
The Mechanised Infantry in Paris was on careful watch, but what was coming down the river at them was only noticed by a French civilian. The pride of the Royal Navy, the H.M.S Alexander, a Shallow Destroyer, was sailing up the river at them.
"Aim the guns! Fire!"
The light destroyer's gun battery turned towards Paris, and fired righ through the City Walls. Many buildings in the old part of Paris crumbled at the shock.
"Mechanised Infantry, target the ship!"
After firing only one shot, the H.M.S. Alexander's top was non-existant. Still floating, it withdrew. Behind it, however, was an even more horrifying sight for the French. Two transport ships unloaded, and out there came some workers and the Infantrymen of the 51st Highland Division. These elite troops guarded the workers until a usable, if slightly rushed, air field was assembled. Now, a thing the French had never seen before. The combined might of the RAF and the Russian Air Force, along with the new F-15s, began raining down on them. With air attacks beginning, the battle became more frantic.
But the Germans had disappeared.
General Bismark took the scenic route to Paris, one that led him into the SOUTH. The French wouldn't be able to repel a knife in their back.
With little effort, Joan of Arc cut down another group of English and Russian forces.
EQandcivfanatic Apr 26, 2002, 01:48 PM Since you people didnt seem to like my last post I am going to give it another try in a form of a Zulu newscast.

Shaka Radio 103.2 news is on the air!
Today in the World the pretenders to world supremeny in Europe are still fighting and killing eachother. The German news reporters have given us information that Paris is within sight of their armies and that the feeble resistence led by Joan of Arc will be no match for the mighty tank armies of Germany. Russian and English authorities have declined to comment on this.
This just in, our glorious forces have advanced even further north and captured at least 3 other Southern African nations. Truly Shaka is the chosen one.
In other news Shaka has offered oil to the beleagured forces of America offering them hope against the barbaric Canadians and Mexicans. In return the Americans have begun delivering silks and furs to out fine nation.
Coming up next a giant poodle has begun terrorizing Belguim, hear it all on Shaka 103.2!
Sixchan Apr 26, 2002, 02:39 PM Hmm, good idea!
Exerpt from BBC Radio One news.

The Main Headlines Tonight:
Allied troops are engaged in the battle for Paris, which is going in the Allies' favour. One soldier claimed the battle would be won very soon.
The British people have shown massive support for the attack no matter what the costs due to the French attack on the H.M.S. Alexander.
And in response to a Militant French terror threat, Prime Minister Elizabeth Tudor says: 'The Lady's not turning.'
[Catchy news music finishes]
Good evening.
Allied troops consisting of English, Russian and German troops are engaged in the battle of Paris, which has been called the main event of what the man-on-the-street calls 'The Great War'. Our troops are pushing on the French, who are now closed in due to the German circling to cut off supply routes. It is now widely believed that the French will withdraw into the city and the English and Russians will begin a siege, while Germany works its way to the South. The war will soon be over, and then the Allies will, political analysts say, turn their attention to the Growing threat of Communist America.
You are listening to 97.6-98.8, BBC Radio One, The time is just past 9:30.

Could you give a report on the Russian viewpoint, Das?
Also, we haven't heard anything from Egypt, and with the Zulu expansion and the likely presence of French Territories in Africa, we should adress this soon.
EQandcivfanatic Apr 27, 2002, 03:12 PM Eygpt is not the only one unmentioned by this story. Where is Rome/Italy? They are right next to France, they should be slightly concerned about France. And what do the Asian powers think of all this fighting? China has a border with Russia. If they allied with France this "Great War" could take an interesting turn, don't you think? ;) Japan is also sitting out quietly. Chances are they have a decent naval presnence in the pacific and if they felt like it give aid to America or the Canadian/Mexican allaince. Finally what about the middle east? The only time before mentioned somewhere in this thread was a babylonian invasion of kuwait. The Middle East has been sitting too quiet. Eygpt, Babylonia, and Persia should all have some kind of response to the Zulu expansion. Obviously, if the Zulu keep extending they would be major threat to other African and Middle Eastern nations.
As a response to about territories, France would most definately have some in Africa or South America. They would not be the only ones either. England would surely have some colonies in Africa, maybe some in the North Atlantic or Artic as well. Also, if this imaginary game expanded like a real Civ game it is likely that India would have a colony or two in East Africa.
Finally, just as a suggestion, isn't there some way you people could tie the American wars with the Europeon war. As yet, there has been no formal alliance in between Canada and mexico and the europeon allies.
Anyways Here is the EQ new reporting once again
--------------------
-Excerpt from French radio station based in Paris-
Cheering crowds today greeted the returning French forces into the city. The cheering soon stopped however as The first British and Russian shells hit the city. One shell even hit our main broadcasting building. A massive exodus of people has left the city and have clogged the roads south to Vichy. As out people fled the city they ran straight into a group of german tanks just waiting for them. According to reports only 3 people out of over 1 million evacuating civilians survived the massacre the German Army brought upon our defenseless people. We of the Royal French Broadcasting Studio will stay here till the city's fall.
(At this point the radio broadcaster began speaking to someone off the mike very excitedly)
This just in: after the now known Paris Massacre, Eygpt and Rome have both declared their support for us and our American allies. All other nations, besides the Russians and british of course, have ended their embargo against us and fresh oil has begun fueling the French ar........
(at this point the artillery started again and radio contact with the city was lost)
-end of excerpt-
I hope this meets all of your approval. If not, what you dont like you can dismiss as propaganda during your part of the story. BTW, whoever posted the maps, can you do that again, taking into account colonies and recent Allied victories?
Sixchan Apr 27, 2002, 04:00 PM Well, I'm currently in command of the English (or so it seems) so I'll begin to bring in the other nations using them.
NOTE: The following excerpts were picked up by a MI6 security bug in the Prime Minister's office. Therefore, only one side of the conversation has been recorded.
-Excerpts from Prime Minister Tudor's phone conversation with Shogun Toguwaka-
"Yes Shogun, I did say Hiroshima."
...
"Well, Hiroshima, has been a target of the Americans for many years now. We suspect they may try to attack it with the French Superweapon."
...
"Well Shogun, I propose that given Japan's strength in the Pacific, you launch an attack on California."
...
"I think San Fransisco would be good target too."
-end of excerpt-
-Excerpts from Prime Minister Tudor's phone conversation with President Mao-
"Well, that's what our intelligence picked up anyway."
...
"India is a big place, Mao, and I think you would do well to take it while you can."
...
"Why? Well, England still maintains a strong naval presence in the Indian Ocean. We are worried that India is not happy with that arrangement. Therefore, I decided that the destruction of India was in both our interests."
...
"Of course you can count on Naval support from us!"
...
"I'm glad we come to an agreement on this, President."

das Apr 28, 2002, 09:56 AM Just in that Israel, Jordan, Lybia and Sudan decidedd to unite against Egypt. Also, our and German bombers have started mass bombardment of Rome, trying to force Priem Minister Ceaser out of war.
WAR BRAODCAST FROM FRANCE: Today, French commander Joan d'Arc and 3rd French Mech. Inf. Batalion has been surrounded by German, English and Russian troops.
TEHNOLOGIYA: Today, we exchanged with English of the new sciences captured from French and Americans. Mainly, we gave them Mech. Inf. and they gave us F-15. Also, Professor Prokhar Zakharov, the inventor of Psychorudiye, proclaimed that his next project would be a huge spaceship, which can let us fly to Alpha Centauri.
EXTRA from PARIS: As French troops with huge casualities finally retreat, in to the ruins of Paris, Coalition forces enter to occupy it. Jacques Echeleau is captured and is to stand trial for war crimes.
ZULULAND: Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique were just overrun by ZUlus, but they aren't a major threat right now. French still had to be defeated...
------------------
Jacques Echeleau knew that he had to capitulate. Well, he will have to make unconditional surrender, but at least he could improve it. With the new photos from Zulu Atom Bomb storage, he will clear his name, an could switch sides, and to join the anti-AMerican and anti-Zulu coalitions.
das Apr 28, 2002, 10:01 AM Now for interactive peace treaty.
Now we need someone speaking fro each participiating country.
I will talk for Russia.
wilboman Apr 28, 2002, 10:02 AM "What's this I hear about a massacre outside Paris? Who the hell ordered this? This is a PR disaster!" Kaiser Wilhelm IV was spluttering with rage. "Get me the SecDef! He's got a lot of explaining to do!"
___________
To say that the Italian foreign minister was distressed would be a serious understatement. He was on the verge of crying. How could the President be so stupid?
"Sir, we can't declare war on the Allies. It's suicide! We've already got the Zulus breathing down our necks after the Shaka incident. And besides, we couldn't face down the might of Germany, Russia, England, China AND Japan, even without those African savages raving about! We'll be squashed!"
The President looked decidedly lost. "But the Paris massacre? All those civilians?"
"I know the French are screaming blue murder, but the Jerries are saying it never happened, and frankly, I'm inclined to believe them. It sounds to much like propaganda to me."
"So what do we do?" The President was looking thoroughly bemuzed and puzzled. The ForSec couldn't help wonder how such an idiot could have been elected leader of a country, even with all those connection in the Brotherhood.
"First, we'll sit down and have a parley. Remind them that the Zulu are providing oil to the Americas. Tell them we have a common enemy. And, in the name of all things holy, let me take it from there."

Sixchan Apr 28, 2002, 10:24 AM I'll speak for the English in the Peace talks.
In the rooms of Glasgow University, Department Head of Botany, Dierdrie Skye recieved a video call.
A woman in a formal suit was on the other end.
"Is this," the woman looked at a card, "Ms. Dierdrie Skye?"
"Yes. To whom am I speaking?"
"You do not recognise me? I am the Prime Minister of England!"
Skye looked uninterested. "Politics does not concern me, Ma'am."
"Look, that's not important. What is important is that I'm about to offer you a chance to study whole new alien plant and animal life."
A look of interest came over Skye. "What do you mean, Ma'am?"
"It is time for humanity to spread it's wings, Skye. We will soon be launching a manned ship to Alpha Centauri, and we want you to be the Chief of Xenobiology."
Skye seemed very excited for a moment, but then regained her composure. "I will have to consider it, Ma'am."
"Consider all you want. Tudor out."
Over the Moon, Skye walked back to the Botany Building, the plants would calm her and help her decide. Of course, in her heart, she already knew the answer.
EQandcivfanatic Apr 28, 2002, 11:52 AM I will speak for the honorable French in the peace talks. I feel sorry for the German person of peace talks, i am going to use the massacre against them.
Anyways, here's EQ's news of the day...
--------------
-Excerpt of French Free Radio-
*BOOM* *BOOM* ...heavy bombardment by the misguided Allies has been continue... *BOOM* *BOOM* day long. Two assualts on Paris have been repulsed already today inflicting more than 50000 causulties on the Russians alone. *BOOM* *BOOM* ..barely holding on to the outskirts. The President has called for all civilains with weapon training to join the army. What the heck? *OOOOOOeeeOOOOOOeeeeOOOOOeeee* Air Raid! Air Raid! Civilians into your homes!
(3 hours later)
Once again the Germans were repulsed. Our valiant forces even were able to counterattack. The Allied center of their line has been broken and the English have been trapped along the Channel. Many of the German forces have been captured. One of these was one Albert Eistein who has agreed to help our government in their nuclear research. With the newfound Roman support helping us attack Germany on two fronts we are slowly drivingf back the barbaric invaders. We will make them pay for the Paris Massacre.
--------------
There we go, something new for you Allied commanders. Let's see how you respond to this.
Sixchan Apr 28, 2002, 12:14 PM The Germans were being beaten back to the coasts. There seemed to be no way to escape. The German commander shouted "Dig in here! Prepare defenses!"
But it was to no avail. All seemed lost when...
Up to the coast came a fleet of transports and Battleships. The promised English assistance had arrived. Newly manufactured Mech Infantry rolled out onto the beach and up to the line. Encouraged by the sight, the German and English troops began a Counter-offensive.
By the end of the day, the Germans, though exhausted were back at the walls of Paris and the English were locked in a stalemate with the Romans.
Lebodovich sent an audio recording to the French government, simply stating: "I think it's time you considered peace, no?"
EQandcivfanatic Apr 28, 2002, 12:51 PM -Excerpt from France Free Radio-
Today the Commander of the Allied forces near Paris offered peace to our nation. This was an unilateral offer from the Russians, the Allied main form of support. The terms of peace suggested by the brave president of our nations went like this: The complete withdrawl of all Allied forces from France, the return of all captured territory, and a permantent trade route of silks for oil.
We are waiting for a response from the Allied Commander. We all pray that this war will end soon.
-End Excerpt-
-Another Excerpt from France Free Radio
The stalemate angainst England is slowly ending as the Romans drive them back to the Channel. The Roman Commander, Bentio Solairi, has told our reporters that if the Allies do not accept our terms of peace England would be invaded by over 3 million Italian soldiers.
In other news China and England have entered a military alliance against the brave people of India. Angered at this news Japan has also entered the war against China and England. No battlefield reports have come as of yet.
In Africa, the Zulu have contiued their drive northward through Africa. Eygpt has ordered the Zulu to stop their attacks or to face the might of Eygpt and her allies.
-End of Excerpt-
I hope you like our terms of peace Allies. If you dont then Albert Einstein has a nuclear gift for you.
Sixchan Apr 28, 2002, 01:17 PM REMINDER 1: The french have NO uranium. How do you propose to build a nuke with no uranium? :p
REMINDER 2: It might take a while for a Mr. Albert Einstein to build such a thing, since Gremany has no Nuclear Program. :p
REMINDER 3: Elizabeth got the Japanese on her side. :p
The Italian Leader stared down the Video link.
"Absolutely not, Elizabeth. We are the Allies of the French!"
In a very sacastic voice, Elizabeth said: "Oh, what a shame. Well, do give my regards to the Maltese troops for me."
The Leader of Italy turned pale. Elizabeth laughed and said happily: "Elizabeth Tudor out."
Ending the conversation, Elizabeth spun her chair round, put her feet on the windowsill, and looked out. She sighed happily.
Meanwhile, a very distressed Military Advisor burst into President Ceaser's office.
The English have landed a massive force just south of Rome, and we are completely unprepared!
A few seconds later, the shelling started.
wilboman Apr 28, 2002, 02:19 PM The Italian foreign minister stared unhappily at the wall of his cell. Who the hell could have known that that French peasant girl could repulse the invaders so thouroughly? The Italian people were rejoicing, the TV broadcasts were declaring that victory was at hand!
But he was still very, very grim. The Allies were bombing his beautiful city! And all because of that mafioso moron! Ah well. At least the English would spare his life when they marched into Rome. He had, after all, tried to negtiate peace with them. Only trouble was, he had done it behind the Capo's back. That's why he was in here...

A small group of soldiers skirted in and out of the ruins of Harare, Zimbabwe, searching for Zulu warriors. At their head ran a brave resistance leader, but also a bloodthirsty mercenary fighting for what was left of the Zimbabwean army. A soldier ran up to her.
"We've found a Zulu camp near the city center! They've hardly even posted guards! We'll crush them easy!"
"Hm. Looks good. Let's let the Zulu taste Spartan lead once again!" Corazon Santiago smiled the cold, expectant smile that had made her the most feared mercenary in Africa.

EQandcivfanatic Apr 28, 2002, 04:20 PM Ignoring LK's post here is my repsonse to Sixchan
1: They already have 3 nukes built with uranium from Rome before they came under attack (as i will realease in this news report).
2: Albert Einstein was captured by French in their first counterattack.
3: I totally forgot about japan being on England's side, my mistake.
Anyways on with the show
-Excerpt from France Free Radio-
As our forces led by Joan of Arc push back the Allied armies our President has made one last offer for peace. He demands the total surrnder of all Allied forces in France and Italy or else the cities of London, Berlin, and the new Russian captitol of St. Petersburg would all be wiped off the map.
In other news, India is close to falling by the combined assualt of England, China, and Japan.
From our diplomatic reporter in England we have learned that the English have become very low on supplies and our spread out across the world on three different fronts in Italy, France, and India. Also if the Roman invasion of England succeeds they will be on 4 fronts and our victory will be assured.
Reporting from Africa our reporters have learned of heavy fighting in between the Zulu and local militia. Our President has been making friendly relations with this rising power and may even become allies with them.
-End of Excerpt-
ok. lets see how the Allies like that treaty.
Sixchan Apr 28, 2002, 04:29 PM What I MEANT was:
Germany has no nuclear program, thus, Albert Einstein won't be of much help, and if he WAS a nuclear Physist, why the HELL would he be on the German front line?
Also, The English are by no means stretched. their main concentration of forces is in Britain, Malta, Gibraltar and Cyprus. Only Naval support is being Provided in India, something that for the English could, quite likely, never be stretched.
Also, with the English controlling entrance to the Atlantic from the Med., all threats of Invasion from the Italians are completely unsubstansiated.
Other Facts:
You know how the Battle of Britian went, right? No Invasion force stands a chance of attacking the British Isles without taking out the RAF. A task that took a good few months, even in the RAF's weakened state, and still failed!
In the unlikely event of an actual invasion, Italy would be on three fronts, too. With an equal population to that of the British Isles, The Italians would be equally stretched.
Also, thanks for announcing it. Now my English have time to prepare!
Plus, what makes you think you'd get anywhere near England with the Royal Navy in action?
In short: I have it all planned out, an Italian Invasion would practically be stopped in the Harbour!
IMPORTANT: IGNORE ALL POSTS AFTER THIS, AS IT IS JUST MINDLESS DRIVEL. NONE OF THE THINGS MENTIONED AFTER THIS REALLY HAPPENED, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED.

EQandcivfanatic Apr 28, 2002, 07:25 PM Okay, Okay, I say we go with Sixchan's idea and return to the part where he explained the invasion would fail. And he was right, it was all drivel. Or as i say, %($*. Now would some Allied person pls respond to the peace treaty offered by the French.
wilboman Apr 29, 2002, 08:41 AM After the whole unfortunate time incident, let's recap. Would everyone please write what they think the world situation looks like, and we'll take it from there.
This is how I see it:
Two alliances:
Germany (accused of Paris massacre)
England (stole F15 plans from US)
Russia (Psychorodiye)
Japan?
China?
France (Claims to have nuclear program)
Italy
India?
Separate states:
Zululand (really does have nukes, actively framing France)
US (aggressive commies)
Canada/Iroqouis
Mexico/Aztec
All the little unimportant ones.
SMAC characters in action:
Corazon Santiago
Deirdre Skye
Prokhor Zakharov
Sister Miriam Godwinson
These are the main events:
-Drive through France halted at Isle-de-France by staunch French resistance led by Jeanne d'Arc.
-Moscow nuked by Zulu.
-Italian attempt on Shaka's life failed. Shaka not amused
-English forces from Malta approaching Rome.
-Zulu are continuing to advance through Africa.
-Americans are making small gains on their neighbors, currently being supplied with oil by Zulu.
I'm sure I've missed lots. Post what you think should be added in (or out) and I'll change things as I go along.

Elizabeth looked down the com. link with France.
"Roman and French invasions are complete delusions, President. We laugh at your demands. In fact, I couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes after I heard them. Also, your propaganda against the Germans will not go unpunished unless you discuss a reasonable Peace Treaty."
Unhappily, the French President responded "Very well."
"Good. I'm glad we could work this out."
She closed the uplink.

Deep within a hidden church in California, Miriam Godwinson said a small prayer. The rebellion would begin within hours, and the oppressive reigime of the Communists would be overthrown and its horrid Atheistic ideals replaced with the righteous morals of the Christian religion.
"May God assist us in bringing the light to the people, and Justice to the dark." she said aloud.
-=**=-
NOTE: To keep consistancy, some states will need independance from the communists, or the Communist government will need to be overthrown. A country called Christian States of America will need to be formed one way or another.
wilboman Apr 29, 2002, 10:35 AM Thankyou, General Lee. I realise you were just trying to have some fun, but that developed into something that was just stupid and confusing...

The Italian Secretary of Defense and the new Foreign Secretary were nervous and fidgety as they stood in the antechamber of the President's office. The smart-looking adjutant eyed them disapprovingly, and took secret pleasure in waiting for quite some time before letting them in. Refusing admittance to the high and mighty was one of the few perks in this job.
As they tumbled in the door, the President rose in alarm.
"What is it now?"
"The English are at the outskirts of Rome and pushing in, bombing raids have intensified, our troops are tied up in France, the Mediterranean is blocked and those accursed Germans and English are churning out F-15's and Mech. Inf. like there's no tomorrow!" The SecDef was agitated and hardly capable of responding to the President beyond his hurried statement. So the President turned on the Foreign Secretary.
"What's your news of doom?"
"A bomb dropped on the Vatican. Apparently it blew a hole in the roof of the Basilica of St. Peter. The Pope is livid! His holiness is threatening us with excommunication if we don't sue for peace soon. Says it's all our fault in the first place!"
"Know what? I'll never surrender!" The President was finally making up his own mind, but the wrong way. "We're still holding in Paris, and I believe that God will hold his hand over our forces in Rome. We can win this war yet."
"Not if we're excommunicated he won't. And the French are apparently on the brink of surrender. God really can't help us now, sir."
"Who needs God anyway?" the President turned to look out the window, signalling an end to the audience.
EQandcivfanatic Apr 29, 2002, 10:46 AM You refuse my fair peace treaty?! And we do have nukes. Time for retaliation.
As i said in a earlier post we have 3 tactical nukes, one near the new Russian capitol of St. petersburg, one by London, and one by Berlin. Time for us to use them.
-Excerpt from France Free Radio-
The devastation is horrible. London is lying in utter ruins and the surviving people are trying to flee from the raging fires inside the city. Clearly if this does not make the Allies seek peace than nothing will. The President has warned the other Allies to withdraw from France or their capitols will face the same fate as London. Celebrations are happening all over France as the shocked English troops surrender by the thousands.
In America a civil war has broken out as the communists face off against a revolution in the pacific coast states. Further news will be broadcasted on this as more information is availible.
In Italy the English are still bombarding the city of Rome but at the same time are withdrawing against a massive Roman counterassualt on the English beachhead.

das Apr 29, 2002, 11:11 AM Peace offer is as following: Kursk Treaty to be extended to the 1994 demands (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Central Asia and Mongolia). French recognize division of Polish. French government to turn over everyone responsible for Moscow Attacks. Lorraine and Alscae to go to GErmany, Provence and Dauphine to be occupied by Russia, Normandy and Brittany to be secede to English. France to pay the full price of the war damage to the Allied Countries, and disband 2/3 of their army. Also, UN inspectors should be allowed in.
Sixchan Apr 29, 2002, 11:12 AM Yay! Das is back!
And that Peace Treaty sounds GOOD!
Could we get a map of what Europe would look like?
wilboman Apr 29, 2002, 11:19 AM Italy's deposed foreign secretary, Enzo Patrizi, could not believe his luck! One minute he was rotting away in some decrepit pit of a prison, and now he was a hero, almost a shoe-in for the new president! Furious mobs were marching on the Palace, determined to capture the current corrupt regent, and the Italian and English forces south of Rome were laying down their weapons and greeting eachother across the lines.
The Italians had decided that the Paris massacre was probably not true, and, with the impending surrender of the French forces, Italy looked set to be doomed. Coupled with the Pope's plea for an end to the war, the Italian people could stand it no longer. In a mass revolt, the Italian garrisons in Paris and other places in France had aided the Allies in a mass invasion. French towns were falling en masse, and the stalemate was finally broken. It really looked like the Great War may end.

In Paris, a heartsick Joan of Arc wept. Wept for her country, wept for her failure, wept for the millions of innocents that perished in the senseless conflict, and wept for the cruel and hateful aftermath that would surely follow in the wake of such a horrible war...
Sixchan Apr 29, 2002, 11:25 AM I don't think the nuke actually happened.
uknemesis Apr 29, 2002, 11:52 AM I agree. Anyway, this post will be an attempt to bring it closer to Alpha Centauri.
If you don't like the events that happen in London, they can be edited out.
*****************************************
Shaka smiled as the decision was finally made in his mind.
"Sir, the Allies have the upper hand, and are too strong. Something must be done!" his SecDef repeated.
"I know. We will begin Operation Trident!"
"Trident?!" his Foreign Secretary gasped.
"Yes. We have evidence that other nations are near to building nuclear weapons, and this could mean the end of the Zulus when we take over, if they decide to use them. So, I will move to destroy them before they can complete these weapons. And prepare the rocket, incase I have to make a sudden departure to Alpha Centauri because of Armageddon. With our new discoveries of stealth and modern armour however, I do not see how we could fail!"
The SecDef and SecFor looked at each other in amazement. It was finally coming out how crazy Shaka really was! If it wasn't for the fact that he had the total support of the army, they would have thougt about ousting him then.
But he did have the support.
And Trident was underway.
********************************************
The B2 bomber penetrated England's defences by night, and the bomb was dropped. It had to be done this way due to the fact that ICBMs could now be tracked on radar.
London was vaporised, but Elizabeth was not. She had gone to Balmoral in Scotland to reflect on her victory over the French.
Then the word came in, and she was rushed onboard Air Force One.
"I will get those damned French this time!" she roared. A woman scorned was deadly, and the French were about to discover that.
"How far is our nuclear weapons programme from completion?" she asked.
"About a month."
"Good, then Paris will feel the might of Britain. And tell that damned Skye woman to hurry up, I'm going to need a rocket to evacuate my Corgis in if the world decides on mutually assured destruction!"
"Your Corgis?! What about you?"
"I'll be on my way to France to give that damned French b*stard a piece of my mind before I die!"
**********************************************
Daniel glanced quickly at the reports.
"So you're telling me that this nuclear bomb was dropped by some kind of UFO that originated from Zululand?!" he was incredulous.
"We believe so sir. And I don't think it's a UFO, but more likely a plane which has a very diminished profile on radar, to the point that it gives the same signal as a bird. But our new radar satellite is tuned to watch objects even the size of birds if they seem to be moving at high speed for long distances, something a bird is unlikely to do. And it paid off, we have a positive trace."
An aide burst in, and handed a message to the President.
"Oh my God! We have more traces, heading straight for Air Force One! These are smaller, likely to be stealth fighters rather than bombers! Get the word to Elizabeth now to bail out of Air Force One!"
In the chaos, the SecDef forgot one part of his briefing. The Russian nuclear programme was behind schedule, but a new type of rocket was days from completion.
********************************************
"Damn!" Shaka listened to the tape from the bugs planted in the Russian President's office. "He's worked it out! Accelerate Operation Trident!"
********************************************
The modern armour divisions spearheaded the attack into Egypt, crushing the old style tanks, whose shells bounced off the new armour of the modern tanks. Most were also engaged by the new tanks far outside their firing range.
Egypt was lost in a night, and Zulu divisions took up heavily fortified positions on the Suez Canal.
The Zulus now controlled all of Africa.
********************************************
Elizabeth received the warning with her normal calmness.
"I think that we should surprise these Zulus." she said. She had no intention of jumping from her own plane.
Five squadrons of F-15s took off, then stayed below radar range, their own radars set to scan higher skies, looking for fast moving objects that had the radar signature of a bird.
Then they had the lock. All of the F-15s rose, and got a lock with their Sidewinders.
All fired as one, and the twelve F-117s Shaka had sent were obliterated.
*****************************************
Shaka was puzzled by the loss of his F-117s. He now wished he had bugs on Air Force One so he knew what the hell was happening, but he knew it was impossible.
Then he heard the tape recording of the Russian President calling all of the leaders of the world to a UN meeting in Berlin.
Shaka smiled. He wasn't supposed to know about this. Obviously the Russian would try to get the world to unite against the Zulus.
But they wouldn't see the nuclear bomb heading for Berlin in the B-2 as they talked.
Little did he know the Allies now had a way of tracking stealth units.

Ignore any bits you hate, just trying to help the story along.

Sixchan Apr 29, 2002, 12:24 PM Okay, I think this is tolerable. I can accept an attack on London as long as it progresses the story.
Each member nation had been asked to bring a skilled specialist to the meeting. The Russians had brought their greatest scientist, Prokhor Zakharov, the Americans brought their greatest astronaut, Richard Garland, the newly-independant Christian States of America brought their best loved Zealot, Miriam Godwinson, the Chinese, Chief of Police Shen-ji Yang, and the Indians, the Great surgeon Pravin Lal. Despite being from the Free Republic of Scotland, Dierdre Skye was in attendance for the English. Also present was the richest man on Earth, Nabwudike Morgan. The Zulus were not in attendance.
Danel Lebodovich sat everyone down.
"If you are wondering why we are here, then you do not deserve to rule your country. In the recent Months, the Earth has been going downhill. We are descending into Nuclear war, and the Earth most likely cannot be saved. At this time, we are also attempting to build our own ships to Alpha Centauri. This cannot be achieved. I believe our only hope is to work together. The five people our nations brought here will make up the core staff, and Mr. Morgan will finance the operation."
He had their full attention.
As 3 F-15s took off, the B-2 flew on towards Berlin unawares.
uknemesis Apr 29, 2002, 12:46 PM The B-2's 2 man crew were shocked when the F-15s climbed from their positions below radar, but weren't too worried. It was an evening meeting, and it was too dark to see the B-2.
And both knew that stealth aircraft were invisible to radar.
Or so they thought.
The lock-on warnings shocked them, and they quickly made the B-2 enter a dive.
Five Sidewinders rushed to meet them.
Only one missed.
The B-2 crew ejected over Berlin.
**********************************************
"We have captured the pilots. They are definetly Zulus, with orders from Shaka himself." Daniel looked around at the shocked faces. Elizabeth was the only one not surprised.
"And best of all, the nuclear warhead was found intact. We have one nuclear bomb now. Question is, do we use it against the Zulu capital and kill Shaka and his cronies, and risk the fact that we might have retaliation strikes by his successor or if he survives, or do we use it to help our own nuclear programmes so we can build more bombs to threaten him with? It's up to you, so I call for a vote."
The main nations, the ones contributing to the rocket, voted first. Then the minor states, such as Japan and Greece. (This is a meeting of all the world leaders except Shaka remember, to make them all unite against him).
The voting was close, but they reached a decision.

But what was it? :p

EQandcivfanatic Apr 29, 2002, 03:26 PM Here's France's response: NO, we will not attack the Zulu. Why should we ally with you folks after you devastated our nation? We will remain nuetral in any war against Zululand (doesnt this sound kind of familer?). Also, we refuse to allow any passage of Allied craft through our territory. If the Allies do attempt to cross our borders we consider it as a declartion of war and we will join the Zulus. To put it all simply: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA the Zulus are going to kill you all.
Sixchan Apr 29, 2002, 03:36 PM In that case: HAHAHAHAHAHA No French on the Unity!
So, hold on. The Zulus made an attempt on the French President's life and you are staying neutral?
EQandcivfanatic Apr 30, 2002, 10:12 AM When did they do that? If that is the case, we will still remain neutral but will instead trade away our wines.
Sixchan Apr 30, 2002, 10:17 AM The French president is at the meeting of leaders in Berlin, where the B-2 with the nuke was heading, had it not been for those F-15s, there would be no French president.
uknemesis Apr 30, 2002, 11:06 AM Daniel picked up the shot glass and swallowed its contents in one gulp. Best Russian vodka. Something he needed right now.
"Typical! We hand them the chance to live and they turn it down! Five leaders call for no action against Zululand, seven want to remain neutral but use the nuke to develop our own as a deterrent to that mad Shaka, and only you me and the Germans want to destroy that scumbag!"
Elizabeth nodded calmly. She had seen the damage that a nuclear missile could do, and wanted revenge.
"But how would we deliver the nuke anyway?" she asked.
"Simple, a huge air raid involving all three of our air forces combined. We can overwhelm the Zulus and nuke their capital, destroying all of the nuclear missiles and Shaka."
**********************************************
Shaka cursed the new bug-defeating device the English had made. He couldn't make out anything but static.
But that meant it was something important.
Shaka had moved all of his nuclear missiles to a bunker outside of his capital, and the rocket to another. He himself commanded the nation from a bunker outside the city.
He didn't care about the lives of the civilians in his capital, but he was determined to be able to strike back and then escape if an attack came.
He was angry about the Berlin raid going wrong, knowing it would have dire consequences. But his modern armour were ready to repel any land invasions, and the skies were ruled by his stealth planes, and his powerful F-22 Raptor fighters. The sea was ruled by his AEGIS cruisers and supercarriers, and he was beginning research on a missile defence shield.
He would win.

das Apr 30, 2002, 11:25 AM 76th Russian Airborne Battalion http://www.warfarehq.com/images/patch_76g.gif and SPETZNAZ were prepared on a small island between Madagascar and Zululand. While a mass air raid on Hlobane will occur (plus British bombers that will destroy as much AA Guns as possible), Shaka could escape, and in that case, Spetzanaz will have to land in Zimbabwe (second Zulu capital), and to capture Shaka in his "secret" HQ that were discovered a week ago by English intellegence. Meanwhile, to distract main Zulu forces in their homeland to Mpondo, 76th Airborne will land there. Then, from allied Madagascar, more Russian helicopters will come, and evacuate first Spetznaz and then 76th Airborne, covered by British bombers, that will eliminate all the Flak Guns that could arrive by that time. This Operation was codenamed "Suvorov".
Sixchan Apr 30, 2002, 02:46 PM As the Russians took off from their island, and the English from their Aircraft Carriers, the attack began. Her anger turned to the Zulu, at the head of the Spitfire Squadron escorting the bombers was Elizabeth. As their bombs dropped, the dive-bombing Spitfires flew down on the Anti-Aricraft guns firring until the moment they were aimed at, at which point they pulled up and another started firing from the other direction. The tactic was VERY effective. Distracted, many AA teams did not see the bomb that hit them.
Then the 76th airborne division reached the fighting, and caused great damage to the missle silo on the ground. There were three more in this area, and so the fighting continued. Now, the Zulus struck back. Their planes took off, and quickly the allied planes started going down.
At his military HQ for the operation, Daniel stood wathcing the planes go down. Then it got worse. He picked up the Radio.
Inside her cockpit, Elizabeth's radio burst into life. It was Daniel "Watch out Liz, one's on your tail! Evasive maneuvers!" try as she might she could not shake it no matter what. She felt it was the end, when...
The firing behind her stopped, and when she looked out to the side, she saw a German Messerschmit flying along beside her. With the Germans present, the tide of the battle changed dramatically in the allies' favour.
As the Zulu planes fell in sufficient numbers, and the rest withdrew, the 76th airborne division landed in Mpondo.
Elizabeth added to her enimies confusion by instument ing a bombardment of North Africa from Malta. With the Zulu not sure where to go, the SPETZNAZ landed in Zimbabwe and in a successful attack, captured Shaka and his cronies.
Suvrov had been a complete success.
das May 01, 2002, 12:07 PM After what became populary known as Battle of Zululand, a new danger arose... Ice Caps of Antarctic and Arctic started melting down from those nuclear disasters. At least now, Nuclear War (the war on which this whole story is based) was over, and Shaka with his men would be trialed at Goteborg, Sweden. But now, Prokhar and his team had to work twice as fast. It was estieated that the project would be finisheda after 10 years.
das May 27, 2002, 11:39 AM Yes it was a victory. But soon, coastlines started to move into the mainland. So Prokhar and hsi men have moved to Hymalyans.
