Well, basically, each civ has a designated color. If you change the color, basically, the game treats the change as a mod and doesen't put your score on the Hall of Fame. Is there any way to change civ colors without making the game think that it is a mod?

The civ-color palettes come from the PCXs in Art\Units\Palettes. You could swap the names around or edit the colors.

You can edit Conquests.bic and I think it will treat all changes as the epic game. Make sure to back it up though, you can never get it back the way it was! (restoring standard rules doesn't work, since the Conquests.bic contains the "standard" rules!)
