Hi guys,

I had a little exchange about this on the pc side while discussing something else, but it's really a mac question and deserves its own thread:

Is there a way on the Mac to view all of the text announced each turn? I've been wanting one ever since Alpha Centauri had one (civ3 and 4 don't... at least so I thought). I'm talking about the "Hinduism has spread to Sardis" and "new iron was discovered near London!" and "while defending your Knights withdrew fro combat" types of messages.

A pc user told me to hit control tab... I tried Command + tab which put me on the desktop (actually a nice trick I didn't know about, thought the only way to minimize game to acess other programs while running Civ was to play in windowed mode, so nice!), and could command tab back to game. I tried Option + tab, nothing happns. I tried Control Tab and it brought up a little box to type messages, for multiplayer game I assume. A pc user showed me screen shot of his, and his text box had tabs for either typing messages or reviewing game announcements, etc.

My mac version box doesn't seem to have those tabs. So do we just not have that, or is it somewhere else?

If you mean what my screen shot shows, then you turn that on by clicking on that little notepad with a pencil in the upper left hand corner.

If you go into the Civopedia and select hints, it lists a whole mess of keystrokes. And it does list Command-Tab as bringing up the Event Log, but that does change between apps instead. So you have to use the mouse as shown above.

Well, I didn't know this. Jolly useful, thanks.
