So I know peopel are constantly posting about the usual bugs... sounds missing, loud popping souds, static sounds, glitchy graphics, crashes to desktop, and my favorite: full computer crash (happened to me).

But there is another bug that irritates me greatly. Every so often, somethign weird happes - I'll go to save and pull up the save window, but then I can't type in there, I can only click save to keep name already there, or click cancel. If I hit escape, instead of it canceling out of save screen as normal, it pops up the game menu to the right (Exit to desktop, Exit to main menu, save, open world builder, etc.). The other thing that happens with this bug, is I can no longer mouse-over things, like mouse over leader's names (normally shows littel window of their mood toward me, etc.) or units or if this bug happnes over a new turn and I get to select a new building to build or select a new technology, none of the mouseovers work.

The only work-around I've found is that if I double-click on a city to open it, then exit it, the problem is gone... until it happens again in a little while. This happens multiple times in one turn, or I can go several turns without it.

Anyone else experience this? Does Aspyr know about the problem? Anyone know any other fixes or workarounds?

I see the mouse-over die all of the time, the quickest fix is to mouse-over your flag which displays your civs traits. This has always worked for me.

There's something very weird about the text entry system anyway - you seem to have to have your mouse cursor over the field your typing into.

But I've also had problems with the text entry fields not working at all. The times it hits me are when I'm password protecting a save - eg. the GOTM saves. I find I can fix that by leaving the screen I'm trying to type into, and then re-opening it. It's a pain, but I don't enjoy communicating with Aspyr support, so I just put up with it.

What AlanH says reminds me that when I open my pbem game save I have to have the mouse cursor in the field in order to enter my password, then I have to click on the OK button, hitting enter doesn't do anything.

Such are the joys of applications developed for the inconsistent world of Windows. When they arrive on a Mac you realise how spoilt you are with a UI that "just works" the way you expect it to.
