For the Narnia mod, as requested by Spacer One. Thanks go to him for supplying me with the model, and to Vuldacon for help with the sounds.

Beaver Warrior

Why have they given him a mail shirt but no weapon? The Narnian quartermaster has some explaining to do.

Plotinus... Excelent animations and the movements are superb. Love the Road animation with the tail patting down the road and his little dance movement.

The Beaver Warrior looks Great...you captured the "Beaver Movements" in your animations and that brings the units to life...I am quite certain it was a Chore. Very Well Done!

Oh wow, (sound of a sig being changed). :) Is this going into the competition this month? Cos I dare say that you'll get plenty of votes. As well as plenty of Kudos from all. :goodjob:

As usual the animations are very well done, all the movements are clearly inspired by beavers. I seem to remember reading somewhere that you found death animations difficult to do, but these look great. They recall to my mind that Panda worker that Kinboat made (and that is high praise). Any chance of a beaver settler? :mischief:

Wow great !!! I can't find the "hallelujah" smiley  Finaly I can put this out of my sig Active supporter of the Beaver Worker Movement The model comes from Content Paradise I think. I thought I could use it myself but I'm glad someone else did it with skill and taste :goodjob:

Noooo! I never want to see another beaver again as long as I live. This thing took forever. I wish it were as good as Kinboat's Panda Worker, which I revisited while making this, and got a bit depressed as I can never hope to equal it! Kinboat is a true artist and his Panda Worker is one of the best units ever made. However, I am glad with the way these came out, especially as they are my first non-human units; I tried to give them as much character as possible through the animation. Like Vuldacon, I like the Road animation the best. If you have lots of them on screen doing this at the same time it looks like they're dancing.

Anyway, I'm glad they're appreciated. I've bunged the Worker into the monthly competition but I don't know how he'll fare against Captain Jack Sparrow!

Guess they figure the teeth are weapon enough. And from what I hear, they are.

Wow, I can't believe it, somebody caved and made the Beaver Worker!

Looks awesome, Plotinus, but I don't envy the job you had to do in order to make it that way.

It's sooo cute and the animations are great :goodjob:

And wasn't a beaver worker requested as early as in 2002? For Noah's Ark maybe.. I remember a c'n'p beaver with gun and they needed more :crazyeye:

Stormrage
Jan 30, 2007, 03:45 PM
I think that was an opossum with a gun?

Jan 30, 2007, 04:15 PM
ok...now that Ive seen it in game, and am totally impressed with every animation, I would like to say Thank you to all of you who supported the beaver worker movement, and most of all to Plot, who took the time to make a unit that can only be used in Narnia (or maybe some other fantasy MOD)...

embryodead
Jan 30, 2007, 05:11 PM
oops yes Stormrage, it was an opossum. I just can't tell the difference, with my practical approach they all look like "furs" to me ;)

A new worker unit for the Wood Elves in WH!! :D:lol:

You bet, though we would have to disable 'clear forest' since the elvsies love their trees. WH 2.51, now featuring NEW Panda and Beaver civs. :D

Spacer One
Jan 31, 2007, 03:40 AM
wow...its good to know that another MOD will be using the Beavers...$3.99 well spent...and again, many thanks to PLot for the excellent rendition of Mr Beaver...

You bet, though we would have to disable 'clear forest' since the elvsies love their trees.

If you did that then the AI wouldn't be able to use it, because a worker has to be able to do all worker jobs before you can tick the "Terraform" box under AI strategies...

LizardmenRule!
Jan 31, 2007, 07:27 AM
Actually, in the WH Mod the civs that can cut down forests have the "Woodworking" tech, and the "remove forest" worker action requires this tech. and the pansie elves dont have this tech :)

embryodead
Jan 31, 2007, 07:30 AM
But Wood Elves in WH can't clear forests already... (it's not disabled through worker actions, elves just don't get access to the branch of the tech tree that enables forest clearing). In other words, nothing stops mrtn from adding beavers now! ;)

EDIT: LMR DIE DIE DIE!

True, the beaver must be in V2.51. ED has spoken.

Oooh, he's like a rabid Beaver warrior. All teeth and claws. Grr.

 Goes to show, on occasion, some good ol' fashion begging can work, eventually.

Yeah, I also have to wonder, what will be the next 'movement' in these parts?

Anywho, great units, Narnia (once it's done) should be a blast.

This has got to be one of the best units I've seen. I have no idea what I'd do with him but I could watch him all day...one of those guys you have to find a way to work in simply because it's too good to leave out. You're da man!
