In Civ III the keyboard command "Control P" would pause the game and minimize it to a small window so that the desktop was then visible for use. Is there a similar feature for Civ IV? I hope so, as it can be very useful.

There is the standard Command-Tab combo. That'll bring up the finder, so you can choose what application you want from the dock. Hope that helps :)

Command-H does the normal Hide application.

Play it in a window. It's the only way to multi-task. :D

Just tried Command-tab and Command-H and they both work great. I don't know how to play in a window, but these first two do the trick for me. Thanks for the help.

Hold down the Command key at launch to get to a dialog where you select your display options, and you can choose full screen or window mode there, along with resolution. Also select which screen to use on a multi-screen rig.
Alternatively, go to Options in the in-game menu and select the Graphics tab. Toggle full screen and choose resolution there.

I think it's the option key you hold down when launching to bring up the video settings dialog, or perhaps they both work. There's also a checkbox, once you get there, to bring up the dialog each time you launch the app.

Option is required when launching from a dock icon, I think.
