Does anyone here have flight simulator, and is an aviation enthusiastic? I am, for one. I'm just wondering if anyone else here likes the game, or if i'm the lonely one

View Full Version : Flight Simulator? Synsensa Feb 02, 2007, 06:43 AM Does anyone here have flight simulator, and is an aviation enthusiastic? I am, for one. I'm just wondering if anyone else here likes the game, or if i'm the lonely one  marioh Feb 02, 2007, 12:18 PM I don't have Flight Sim X yet (I need to build a PC to run it properly first), but I do have the previous version, along with the USA Roads add-on. I don't play it like most people though. I basically just stick to the learjet, and fly around the world, many times pushing the maximum range of the plane to it's limit. I keep written logs of departure and arrival times, distance traveled, airport, runway and landing pattern (as specified by ATC). I spend most of my time on auto-pilot though, only take control when taxiing to and from runways, and on takeoff and landings. I also use time compression, alot. I use flight plans, but primarily only use VFR (due to the time compression and the fact that I'm pushing the plane to it's maximum range, which requires fuel conservation, which is easier in VFR than IFR, IMO). I enjoy the simulation, and like almost all of my other simulation games, it allows me to multi-task and do other things while playing. Synsensa Feb 02, 2007, 02:03 PM I don't plan on getting Flight Simulator X, since the water is a big turn off, along with how hard it is on the frame rates :(. I have almost no payware for FS9, but I fly regularly. Do you ever take screenshots of your game? marioh Feb 02, 2007, 04:59 PM I don't plan on getting Flight Simulator X, since the water is a big turn off, along with how hard it is on the frame rates :(. I'm waiting a little bit for the technology to catch up with FS X before I start to purchase all the different parts for the new computer. I heard it runs poorly on most PC's, and even on high end computers, you really need to tweak the game alot to get acceptable frame rates. I don't think I've ever taken a screenshot in FS9. I enjoy the sim, and have been flying in MS FS games for quite a few years now. Synsensa Feb 02, 2007, 05:07 PM Get FSScreen, it works really well. Read your PM. |
