These Wiis are sounding cooler and cooler. I almost wish I had one.

What are these anyways?

on the Nintendo Wii, you can create little characters (called Miis) and use them in some games. Obviously the first that I have created were me and my family. Then I did some of the more popular characters that are all over the internet.

Recently I've been going through some of my favorite TV shows and trying to make the cast. I've done most of the characters on Seinfeld (Jerry, Elaine, Frank & Estelle Costanza, Newman, Uncle Leo and the Soup Nazi) I still need to do George and Kramer. Then I'm going to start on Prison Break cast.

When two people put each other's Wii code (16 digit unique code) into their address books and they have their Wii connected to the internet, the Miis can travel to the other Wii to be in the Mii parade. Basically all this is, is just a bunch of Mii's walking from the top of the screen to the bottom. It's really neat to see what others have made and to see a bunch of them walking together. You can "steal" other's Miis and then they'll show up in some of your games.

I've added you azzaman.. my mii parade is up to 12. :D I wish you could tell your own miis to go over to it. oh well.

I don't have a parade.

it takes a while. I have ~ 10 people that also have me in their address book and I have 12 Miis in my mii parade. One thing that I have noticed is that if you send them to the Mii plaza, they won't be in the mii parade anymore. For a long time I had none even though I had a couple people in my address book. I have ~70 miis in my mii plaza. I was planning on looking up what influences the mii parade numbers today. I'll post anything I find here.

I have about 14 in my address book, but it appears most of them haven't added me to theirs.

Ok... I've found a few things.
obvious but worth mentioning... connect your Wii to the internet somehow
make sure WiiConnect24 is on.
make sure your travel setting is turned to travel or you won't get any miis from others.
get the people in your address book to add you to theirs (they will turn black in your address book if they have... otherwise they'll be greyed out)
set all of your miis to mingle.. it won't help your mii parade but it will help your friends.


one other thing of note is that the first few miis that I got in my mii parade are still there. So I'm not sure if once you get a mii in your parade if they are ONLY on yours or if they can be shared with everyone in the other persons address list.

Also I don't know if I send you a Mii via the mail thingie, if it is still allowed to show up in the parade..

In my opinion, Nintendo could have made this better by allowing random miis from anyone to come to your parade.

Almost everyone is greyed out in the address book.

Only one or two in the parade. Mostly none.

THis sounds pretty cool. The Wii has some pretty cool features like this. I still don't know if I want one yet. Nintendo has a problem keeping up in the game production dept. Are they planning on releasing some new titles for it? (Nintendo's game selection is always at least 1/2 the size of Xbox and PS) If they end up releasing a decent amount of games, I might end up buying one. Anyone know if they have any promise of expanding their game library?

I know there are a lot of announced games, and that Nintendo will make games aimed at non-gamers (like with the DS), but I guess it depends on how successful it is in the long run.

MArio Galaxy (I guess this is the standard Super Mario Bros. game for teh Wii) is scheduled to be released 12-31!! There are a few that are supposed to be released in the spring. Mario Party 8 is one of them.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance ought to be fairly fun. I already have Zelda and Excite Truck on my list of games to buy or get as gifts.

btw, I have 70 miis in my little parade. I hadn't turned it on in a couple of weeks due to putting our house on the market and all of the crap that goes with that. Anyhoo my parents came up to visit this weekend so I now have some video of my dad boxing.

um.. don't recall all of the details, but I think that it's displayed on your message board's address book somewhere. Either there or in the Wii menu

In the states at least, Brawl is scheduled for December 3, but the date is Australia is still TBA.

not unless you tell them. I guess that way you can't just put everyone's code in your Wii without them knowing about it.
