View Full Version : Warlords: Chocolate or Strawberry?

DeafDolphin

The whole "Vanilla" thing seems to be one of those colloquialisms not used everywhere. I guess the classic definition would be that Vanilla is the "plain" version like with Vanilla ice cream as opposed to say Chocolate or Strawberry. I guess if someone doesn't see Vanilla ice cream as "plain" then the whole thing doesn't work for them. ;)

Aren't you glad we don't try to calling Warlords "Chocolate"? Or would it be "Strawberry"? Oh lord, imagine that debate... :mischief:

Credit this thread to Denniz. :p

I'll take up the gauntlet and create a poll, just for fun! :mischief: Heaven knows we need to have some around here.

On second thought, thread reopened. Definitely off-topic for a Hall of Fame forum, but it might have a place in Humor.:)

Considering all the complaints and bugs that showed up, I should have thought of that. Nice one, Jenarie! :goodjob:

You just have to rock them back with some trebs. Nothing like a stack of Trebs and Pikes at home to prepare some nice horsesteak.

Chocolate, it's quite obvious that chocolate comes after vanilla!

It is! Why don't you believe me?

I don't like chocolate that much.
I don't like strawberries at all.
I don't know what neopolitan is.

Now, to go by the warlords/war theme - I am to 'know my enemy.' That puts neopolitan right out. I am also to 'keep my friends close, but my enemy closer,' so since I don't like strawberries at all, but can tolerate chocolate, then strawberry must be my enemy. Therefore, strawberry is the answer.

Fear my logic :smug:

I don't know what neopolitan is.

Neopolitan is a mixture of Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry in side by side layers. Quite tasty.

Logic... :crazyeye:

Nerdking
Feb 13, 2007, 07:22 PM
Can't we assume that warlords is neopolitan?

It still has many of the base elements of the vanilla version
It has many fruity/flowery updates, if you will, making it partly strawberry
But I do agree, that the next logical progression from vanilla is chocolate

BAM! THERE IS NEOPOLITAN!

Vanilla is not the same as "flavorless" - or "original", the mysterious flavor that is somehow different for toothpaste and potato chips.

That begs the question. Plain, Ridged, BBQ, Sour Cream and Onion or Cheddar cheese? :crazyeye:

Perhaps we all have a correct interpretation, based on what we see in Civ.

If you see Civ as simply a time passer/waster it's one thing.
If it's the only way you get social contact (even though it's via the internet), it's another.
If you see it as mental exercize then you have another interpretation.
If you're Swedenish then you think about melons.

Warlords is Vanilla Choc Chip. It has extras that make you think your playing a whole new game, but in reality its just the same thing with little more to it.

Interesting idea, but a lot of the add ins are very interesting.
Perhaps we call it chocolate chip cookie dough. That way it still has lame old chocolate chips, but also the delicious goodness of cookie dough.

Pah, chocolate is for the common masses. If anything is chocolate, it should be C&C.

Warlords players are far more refined and discerning. It should be something classy, like pistachio.

Alas, pistachio is for the ignorant masses that want to feel classy by spelling a very strange word.
