Ok i know that technologies will cost more at times for instance anarchy etc, my problem is that without a clear reason i may have sailing at 48 turns then sudenly it goes up to 683 etc. i have tried to backtrack to an earlyer time and make different decisions but wierdly even after going way back in a game within a turn or two it happens again, it doesn't matter what the tech is, it just keeps happening, do i have a bug r something? this didn't happen in times past!!:( please help!!!:confused:

Sounds like you ran out of gold causing the game to lower the research slider.

Oddly that was not a problem either! but since then i re-installed the patch just to hope for summit to help and the game returned back to normal! no idea what was wrong i just thought the ai had gone loonie and tried to re-instal the patch hoping i would not have to re-instal everything and it worked.
