Here are three generic Jedi from the Star Wars Universe. I have reused some animations from my prior lightsaber equipped units and have also added some new attacks. I tried to make the new attacks emulate several of the different forms in lightsaber combat. Links below.:)

quite the nice pack you put together there I'm sure the Star Wars mod will appreciate these additions.

A little bit too much blue lightning when the sword is "turned on", otherwise the units are looking great. The jedi knight and master's attacks seem to be a little shy, if you allow me a little nitpick. The padawan is much more violent I think. But it's cool as is. It's good to have something else than conversions, for it looks so much better !

For the Jedi Master, you should make the death animation like how Obi Wan died, it'd look trippeh that way.

Great work once again Dawg.

and wonder how to add these in epic game

use one as an easter egg...spawned from a SW wonder of some kind?...add a "Laser weapons" tech after lasers in the epic game, and have it allow Jedi...?

Okay, these are quite awesome, only question is, how does the civ colouring work for each of these?

Again, animations, superb, death seems a little rapid, but only if you want to nitpick. I think the attacks make a lot of sense, the young Padawan would use more brute force since he's still learning, were the Master knows that all you need to do is graze the enemy with these things and they're down.

Yay! Post 1000! (Final Fantasy Victory theme plays)

Thanks for the comments everyone.

@ Orthanc, no civ color on these guys.

@ Odin, hopefully they'll fit in the SW mod.

D. Highland, Sorry didn't mean to ignore that. I tried a death like that with my first lightsaber type unit, and was not happy with how it looked. I'll take another shot at it, and post a new flic if it turns out.

Cool, then I could add an easter egg unit to my mod called Obi Wan.

These are fantastic. Amazingly good work. Some of these combat animations are really exceptional - the backflip, for example. You've also animated the Jedi Master's cloak really well. I don't know how you produce so many top-notch units so quickly!

As mentioned, exceptional units.:goodjob: :)

Hans Christan Andersen, Mark Hamil, and Ewan McGreggor. Now we need Alec Guiness. Or you can put Alec Guiness in a suit and trench coat, have him sulk around Cold-War Era Europe and not do anything action related at all and we we coudl have Geroge Smiley.

Don't know if this has been asked (probably has), but any chance of getting non-human Jedi? As not all of them were human (Yoda, Ka Adi Mundi, Ayla Secura, etc). Just a suggestion I'm throwing out there.

These are very cool by the way!!!

How about a Weequay or Rodian jedi?

Bluemofia
Feb 21, 2007, 04:13 PM
Well, a Weequay is possible for me, (editing out parts of the vibroblade, but first someone has to convert it from SWGB for me.) but I can't do a Rodian. No SWGB Rodians fighting with hand to hand combat.

Wow...those units are all very well done NavyDawg. :goodjob:
The only "nit picky" thing I will say is that the Cool Reflected light effect from the Light Sabers would illuminate the areas they should on the units if you parent the Spot Light to the Light Saber so the light will work well in all directions to illumunate the correct areas on the units.

Well, they're from the movies. If I found the appropriate props, however, I could do Revan and/or Malak.

Well, they're from the movies. If I found the appropriate props, however, I could do Revan and/or Malak.

Malak would be hard, since he lost his jaw and you'll need to do some wicked detail on the attachment of the breathing thing. As for Revan, he just needs a mask.

odintheking
Mar 16, 2007, 05:51 PM
Well, it's not like I have to do much for Malak, all I need is a body suit and a really simple jaw covering. It's not like I have to make the whole breathing apparatus in his mouth, or dislocate the jaw, all I need to do is find a decent-looking primitive (probably a torus) and texture it. Revan would be way harder, though. It's more than "just a mask". You need the mask, yes, but you also need the hood, the cloak and the abdomen armor he wears.

I know you guys are going to kill me for this question but, is it posibable to replace my Jaguar Warrior with the padawan in a IMAC, original Version of Civilization 3, and how, because I just didn't get the tutorials (i guess I am an idiot)

NavyDawg
Mar 24, 2007, 04:02 AM
Well, I'm not going to kill you for asking a question. I can't help you out with Macs though...

BadKharma
Mar 24, 2007, 04:43 AM
what you could try doing is make a copy of the original unit folder you plan to replace. Replace it with the padawan folder. For the large and small icons you will need to rename the ones in the Padawan download to the same name as the original icons you are replacing (make copies first). Same thing goes for the unit 32 sheet.

Hi, I din't get (Because I am barely learning english, but what I figure is that if I replace the folder name to Jaguar Warrior and changed the .ini to JW and repleasing it with in the units folder in art, I get this guys instead of JW, but thank you, without your help there was no way I could figure that one.:crazyeye:

Make sure you copy the original JW to another folder, so you dont lose it...
