Howdy
I've made up a changed civmod.bic file for those that are interested. I have not posted to the customisation forums as I don't know if these changes will work on a PC. They probably will. Plus I don't know what the capabilities of the CivIII editor on the PC platform so I may be duplicating work already done so apologies if this post is off topic for this forum... this is just to show how other changes can be made (adding transport capacity to the Frigate etc) outside off an editor. At least I think that you cannot add in transport capacity to the Frigate on the PC editor at the moment.
Needless to say then that this custom civmod.bic is for Macintosh only at the moment (version 1.17g).
I tampered with twelve of the units in the game:
• Scout : Now has a Defense attribute of 1 point
• Explorer : Now has a Defense attribute of 2 points
• Warrior : Upgrades to Spearman
• Swordsman : Ability to attack from ships and now upgrades to Marine
• Longbowman : Upgrades to Musketman
• Musketman : Needs Iron in resources (as well as default Saltpeter)
• Rifleman : Needs Iron in resources
• Infantry : No upgrade to Mechanised Infantry
• Frigate : Carries 1 unit and now upgrades to Destroyer
• Destroyer : Carries 2 units
• Ironclad: Upgrades to Battleship
• Man-O-War : Carries 2 units

Full instructions are included in the archive.
cheers
