(http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/) Mowque Mar 08, 2007, 04:56 PM good but are we making one for Rhyeism? lol botur2young Mar 08, 2007, 04:56 PM No creo que es bastante conocido. kairob Mar 08, 2007, 05:09 PM I like this idea :) Edungeon Mar 08, 2007, 05:36 PM Good Idea... we can have the "Rhyenism" and some serious stuff too. Like a Compendium of Strategy Guides... :) Elhoim Mar 08, 2007, 06:45 PM No creo que sea bastante conocido. I think that way is better. Unless you know that he is known, but you don´t want to believe it. Riker Mar 08, 2007, 06:48 PM subjuntivo rulez (there is a mystical linguistic uprising...) Elhoim Mar 08, 2007, 07:10 PM Unless he is absolutely certain that he does not believe that he is know enough. sdLeo Mar 08, 2007, 09:09 PM yo quiero taco bell botur2young Mar 08, 2007, 09:35 PM Ah, true fact. Man i just learned subjunctive like 3 months ago. I probably should remember it. Elhoim Mar 08, 2007, 10:19 PM yo quiero taco bell  Cuidado, la comida allí no es muy buena... jejejeje Whitefire Mar 09, 2007, 03:05 AM What is with the fascination with language here? I'd compose a few articles and help out with fleshing out others. holy king Mar 09, 2007, 03:51 AM donde esta mi coche, tio? Lone Wolf Mar 09, 2007, 06:23 AM What language you are speaking? Spanish, I think? На каком языке вы тут говорите? На испанском, я полагаю? holy king Mar 09, 2007, 06:50 AM spanisch, ja, aber von russisch hab ich echt keine ahnung :-) spanish, yes, but i have no clue about russian :-) Hitti-Litti Mar 09, 2007, 08:57 AM No niin, v***n pellet, puhukaa suomea tai englantia tai saunan takana tavataan! I hope that someone Finnish reads this! Civplayer99 Mar 09, 2007, 09:34 AM "say marshland or albion or sauna beyond encounter" I may have understood it incorrectly :) Btw. I think an RFC wiki is a great idea! Hitti-Litti Mar 09, 2007, 09:41 AM "speak Finnish or English or we meet behind sauna!" We meet behind the sauna = I shoot you with a shotgun. A Finnish proverb. Whitefire Mar 09, 2007, 10:25 AM spanisch, ja, aber von russisch hab ich echt keine ahnung :-) spanish, yes, but i have no clue about russian :-) Damn you. That jump from Spanish to German broke my head. Civplayer99 Mar 09, 2007, 10:27 AM Terve! Ah, I thought i misunderstood something :D I like proverbs :) Parempi pyy pivossa kuin kaksi oksalla. One grouse in the hand is worth two in the bush. kairob Mar 09, 2007, 10:29 AM GRAAAAAAAGH! Orkish for, "hey dudes!"* *also means, "I am angry" and "good afternoon, I wish to purchase a cabbage from your uncle" at the proverbs, my favorate is "dont count ya chickens before they hatch" Talkie_Toaster Mar 09, 2007, 11:34 AM *applauds* We seem incredibly talented at morphing thread topics here =P I'm just deliberating which free hosting site to use. kairob Mar 09, 2007, 11:53 AM What about making an article on wikipedia, posting a link to it from the civ 4 page, then use the info in the readme for the text in it and link it to WikiRhye, or Rhyepedia or whatever its going to be called... Talkie_Toaster Mar 09, 2007, 12:46 PM Ok, here (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/) it is, but it's very, very basic still at the moment. kairob Mar 09, 2007, 03:47 PM I really like the wiki, however two things, firstly is it possable to have a different couler for external or internal links? if not how about putting them on the bottom like on wikipedia? secondly you have a link that doesnt work. Other than that it looks great and I would love to contribute. Talkie_Toaster Mar 09, 2007, 03:53 PM Be warned that I need to approve all members =[ I can't find a way to turn that off, so since I'm going to bed now other people probably won't be able to join until morning. I'll look into the link thing. Ghostofkuji Mar 09, 2007, 04:58 PM どうしてみんなは突然外国語で話しているんだ? 分かりにくいなぁ… kairob Mar 09, 2007, 05:06 PM theres always one isnt the... Talkie_Toaster Mar 09, 2007, 05:06 PM I agree, kuji, when everyone speaks in a foreign language it is hard to understand xD kairob Mar 09, 2007, 05:10 PM thats actually quite witty. Like when my friend learned how to say "oh am I speaking latin again? sometimes it just slips out" in latin :) kairob Mar 09, 2007, 05:38 PM please ignore this :) Rhye Mar 09, 2007, 07:54 PM wonderful! I think this wiki is a great chance to store stategy guides, the atlas, advanced starts and other stuff that risk to sink here. It's completely up to you... ah, 2 more things: -RFC has 25000+ downloads, not 15000+ -could you change the name of the wiki and of the link to something else, such as "Rhyki" or any other name you think it's cool? Gunner Mar 09, 2007, 10:33 PM Hey I just sent in a request to join. kairob Mar 09, 2007, 10:56 PM @Rhye, I changed the numbers but I cant change the site properties, so you'll have to wait for talkie_toaster in the morning. @gunner, I will have a look see if I can figure out how to do it. :) *applying to Site Administrators (if enabled) * by providing a valid membership password (if enabled) * by accepting an invitation from a Site Administrator Apparently I can't accept you as a memeber as I'm a mod not an admin, sorry. Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 02:18 AM Hi all, I'm back. I'll make you an admin now kairob, my mistake, sorry! Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 03:06 AM OK, I think I've got a way round the needing to approve people thing, just use the bit that says 'Join by password'. The password is RhyeRocks. Rhye also suggested a great new name: "Rhye's of Wiki", so I've changed it to that. The URL is the same though. Edungeon Mar 10, 2007, 10:47 AM I'm in, this wiki system is the same of the Wikipedia.org? Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 10:49 AM hm...Sort of. It's got a different interface and I think different codes, but it's the same principle and quite east to master. Welcome aboard :goodjob: Rhye Mar 10, 2007, 12:07 PM i think the atlas http://zepto-angstrom.co.uk/scrap/rfcmap/index.html should be moved into the wiki. Can you? Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 01:56 PM You mean not just linked in? Actually moved? I'll look into it, but I'm not sure it's possible. Rhye Mar 10, 2007, 02:23 PM yes, if you said we can upload files... Gunner Mar 10, 2007, 02:26 PM You might be able to do something with copying the source code. I don't know if the wiki could understand the scripts though. SadoMacho Mar 10, 2007, 03:35 PM Can we get a link to the Wiki in the 'links' sticky? Edungeon Mar 10, 2007, 09:32 PM Good idea... Quando a esmola é demais o santo desconfia. ( just a brazilian proverb xD ) Riker Mar 10, 2007, 09:32 PM На каком языке вы тут говорите? На испанском, я полагаю? мы говоpиm по испански...(I actually realized that I don't even remember the basics...) Lone Wolf Mar 10, 2007, 09:38 PM Говопиш? That's something... :crazyeye: The correct phrase is: Мы говорим по-испански. :goodjob: The rain in spain stains mainly in the plain. LuKo Mar 11, 2007, 01:06 PM I think that somebody should add definitions of all UHV in wiki (what mean "control England", etc.). Talkie_Toaster Mar 11, 2007, 01:09 PM Good point. Care to join the wiki LuKo? I'll try to explain as many as possible. LuKo Mar 11, 2007, 01:13 PM I don't know enough about RFC to improve wiki :( kairob Mar 11, 2007, 01:15 PM go on, you could write an article about poland. ;) LuKo Mar 11, 2007, 01:22 PM Probably when last version of RFCW will be downloadable I'll make a mod (with Poland of course :P However many other things will be included too ;) ) and write about it in wiki :P So I can join but when I'll write anything? I don't know. Talkie_Toaster Mar 11, 2007, 02:09 PM OK, I've started the UHV thing but it's NOWHERE NEAR finished, I'd appreciate everyone's help on this, it's a big job. Help! (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/unique-historical-victory) Gunner Mar 11, 2007, 04:55 PM I rewrote the introduction section. Its reproduced below: Each Civilization can achieve an “Historical Victory” by fulfilling 3 specific goals. The goals differ from civ to civ, aiming to match the historical accomplishments and aspirations of each in a fun and interesting way. With them, even a civilization with a weaker starting situation such as the Aztecs has a chance of ultimate success. When 2 of the 3 goals are achieved, a “Triumphal Arch” is automatically built in a player’s capital. The triumphal arch affords several benefits, foremost among them the triggering of a Golden Age. Warlords version related civs and goals are in italics. For further clarification of area-based objectives, refer to this website: http://zepto-angstrom.co.uk/scrap/rfcmap/index.html Rhye if you're reading this, I'd also humbly submit my new wording for inclusion in the official readme since the thing I edited on the wiki was identical to the readme. If you want I can go through and edit some of the other sections you've added more recently. NeverMind Mar 13, 2007, 03:18 PM Nice idea! I've started RFC pages (http://modiki.civfanatics.ru/index.php/Rhye's_and_Fall_of_Civilization) at russian civ-wiki some months ago, so i have something to share :) If we create some sort of Reference Tables page, I could add english versions of these pages: Civilizations (http://modiki.civfanatics.ru/index.php/Цивилизации_RFC) and Historical Victory (http://modiki.civfanatics.ru/index.php/Историческая_победа_в_RFC). Talkie_Toaster Mar 13, 2007, 03:21 PM Yay! Someone with experience! :p Please add all you can, but may I suggest that you merge your UHV table with this (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/unique-historical-victory) page? Thanks for contributing! :goodjob: mitsho Mar 18, 2007, 08:29 AM Up this thread ;) Should there be a UP-explaining page, like there is with UHV? ;) mick Mowque Mar 18, 2007, 08:39 AM i asked once for this...he said he was going to do it Talkie_Toaster Mar 18, 2007, 08:47 AM Can't anyone add a page? mitsho Mar 19, 2007, 09:57 AM I think adding the page isn't the problem ("create"), but to fill it? Talkie_Toaster Mar 19, 2007, 10:01 AM You all put any information you can in, I'll sort the layout out when I have a moment Is that what you mean by "filling"? LuKo Mar 31, 2007, 01:01 PM Is it dead? :( flyingchicken Mar 31, 2007, 01:09 PM Hopefully not. I just updated it some time ago. As a wiki, the whole community should aid in the alteration and corruption of it, for the benefit and misuse of all. LuKo Mar 31, 2007, 02:52 PM In last week it was updated 2 times: by you (30.03) and by Talkie Toaster (25.03) :/ flyingchicken Mar 31, 2007, 03:34 PM The community must feel guilty. C'mon people, 'tis a wiki! sennomulo Mar 31, 2007, 03:49 PM Pourquoi parlons-nous toutes ces langues différentes, hein? Я не понимаю. Me encantan también las lenguas extranjeras, 但是这太狂了!Wir sollen nur auf Englisch sprechen, denn die anderen können nicht uns verstehen. :p Talkie_Toaster Apr 01, 2007, 09:14 AM Yeah, everyone, contribute please. Now. :trouble: ;) He's saying the wiki should be in different languages? OK, If anyone wants to translate a page, put "Language:Pagename" As the page title, e.g. if I translated the "UHV" page into Spanish, I'd call it "Spanish:Unique Historical Victory" flyingchicken Apr 01, 2007, 10:52 AM That's going to be confusing. Spanish:UHV, Spanish UHV, Spanish:Spanish UHV - that kind of thing. Something simpler, and more effective: "Objetivos de la Victoria Historia" for the Spanish page title. Talkie_Toaster Apr 01, 2007, 10:55 AM Ahh, but when you separate things with a colon, the first word is automatically classed as a new category. Maybe we should use a system similar to Wikipedia, i.e. Spanish = es:something etc. sennomulo Apr 01, 2007, 02:05 PM He's saying the wiki should be in different languages? Not quite. :p I said "Why are we speaking all these different languages, huh? (French) I don't understand. (Russian) I love foreign languages too (Spanish), but this is crazy! (Chinese) We should be speaking only English, because the others cannot understand us. (German)" Talkie_Toaster Apr 01, 2007, 02:06 PM ... OK ... flyingchicken Apr 01, 2007, 02:59 PM A polyglot! I wish I was either (1) one or (2) a powerful leader who had a manservant who is one. sdLeo Apr 01, 2007, 07:45 PM A polyglot! I wish I was either (1) one or (2) a powerful leader who had a manservant who is one. wish away, mr. chickenhead flyingchicken Apr 02, 2007, 12:49 AM It's Chicken'm'hael/The Magical Flying Chicken/Flying Chicken to you St. Basil's Cathedral. Whitefire Apr 02, 2007, 11:12 AM Hey talkie, can you edit in the link to the wiki in your OP. I don't like having to hunt through for it. sdLeo Apr 04, 2007, 11:53 AM It's Chicken'm'hael/The Magical Flying Chicken/Flying Chicken to you St. Basil's Cathedral. Chicken'm'hael? flyingchicken Apr 04, 2007, 01:48 PM That's a little bit of fandom there. If you can figure out what it means, then you would have proven that you have absolutely a lot of free time and nothing better to do. :) Hint/Disclaimer: It's not anime. Seriously. Edungeon Apr 04, 2007, 03:58 PM I can just image if is related to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazrim_Taim flyingchicken Apr 06, 2007, 10:19 PM Why, yes it is! You have proven yourself full of free time, Mister Edungeon. By the way, that's pronounced "tah-EEM" not "tame." :P --cuts out of topicness here-- GoodGame Apr 25, 2007, 07:00 PM I'm liking this wiki. One comment though---can you open up the discussion pages. I know wiki's tend to be vandalism prone, but I really think the strategy section can use some alternate opinions. Whitefire Jun 02, 2007, 02:57 PM The wiki needs your help! Do you have a good tip on remaining stable (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/stability)? Explain to the newbies why Ukraine is so funny (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/memes). Generate some late starts! (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/pre-generated-saves) There's no reason that we can't have 2 or more. Write a guide (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/strategy-guides) on how to win a UHV as your favorite civ! Even better, come up with the next great idea (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/thenextgreatidea) for the wiki. flyingchicken Jun 08, 2007, 12:49 PM Edited the memes page, added a little bit to it. Whitefire Jun 08, 2007, 06:44 PM Thanks dude. Whitefire Jun 20, 2007, 10:52 AM With the release of BTS, we're going to have a lot of fresh faces around here. Let's try and finish all of the strategy guides (http://wikirhye.wikidot.com/strategy-guides) before the street date! Ambassador Jun 20, 2007, 11:20 AM اين خيلي جالبه sdLeo Jun 20, 2007, 10:27 PM اين خيلي جالبه OK? I think this is Iranian (Farsi) but I don't speak it... so... yeah... um... Edungeon Jun 20, 2007, 10:31 PM Did someone already did the American UHV? =P I tried 3 times now, and failed in all T_T ( bad luck i think... never get cities in the start, and frace conquered all Mexico in 2 of them ). اين خيلي جالبه ... o_х oooookay. The Q-Meister Jun 21, 2007, 01:54 AM I'm working on a strategy guide for France. Possibly a 2nd one for Arabia or just adding on what the 1st person said. Whitefire Jun 21, 2007, 02:58 AM OK? I think this is Iranian (Farsi) but I don't speak it... so... yeah... um... It's Farsi. Whitefire Jun 21, 2007, 03:01 AM Did someone already did the American UHV? =P I tried 3 times now, and failed in all T_T ( bad luck i think... never get cities in the start, and frace conquered all Mexico in 2 of them ). The America UHV has changed (will change?) from previous versions to be easier. What are the requirements right now? I'm working on a strategy guide for France. Possibly a 2nd one for Arabia or just adding on what the 1st person said. Thanks dude. Remember that the old guides will need revisions. Specifically the Spain guide since it was composed prior to the Conquerors update. Edungeon Jun 21, 2007, 11:42 AM The America UHV has changed (will change?) from previous versions to be easier. What are the requirements right now? No European colonies in North American, Central America and Caribbean :) Oh, i am trying to settle all US today territory too... a personal condition to the UHV :) Whitefire Jun 21, 2007, 12:23 PM No European colonies in North American, Central America and Caribbean :) Yeah, that's the easier one. It was too difficult to kick Spain out of SA while worrying about England up in Canada. The Q-Meister Jul 28, 2007, 11:30 AM Just wanted to bump up this thread and reiterate what Whitefire said about making those Strategy Guides. I think I did my part by creating a French and Greek guide. Might give Carthage a go, but in the meantime, I think I'm gonna go play BtS now! |
