I was reading this thread about time victory < http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=208401 >, But I think you need 15000+ score to submitt to the HOF to count for QM.

So, here is my idea, let me know what you think. This will ofcouse use the newest HOF mod.

One city challange: this helps prevent AI from out expanding you early and decreases what you need to defend.
duel: only have 1 enemy to worry about
archipilligo: makes attacking you slightly harder
diety: i think that the highest level difficulty would improve score

Use a protective and industrius civ: Qin Shi Huang of china. Go with farm spam and specialist economy. Don't attack, just build decent defence forces to protect your fat X. Wonder spam and tech as much as possible.

Any ideas? What do you all think?

I just tried this and it failed. I thought that one city challange meant that both you and the AI could only have 1 city, but the AI was able to build settlers and I wasn't. So, victoria had the entire world colonized and i was chillin with my one city. One city challange sucks if its not equal.

For CFC HoF and QuattroMaster, you only need to win, score is (somewhat) irrelevant. So any game you win can be counted towards QM.

all you have to do is win! then that category (in this case, machiavelli time condition) is counted as complete for you, and you can work on the other categories. games you submit later that would fit the same category but have a higher score can replace your old games, so you don't have to wait and submit only your best games.

for proof ... here's my game that does indeed count on my QM table for time victory (and also my quick speed tempi and my shaka LoN, i'm racking up the low scores ;) ) ... score 2027 (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=6157). :trophy: it's not on any of the top 10 HoF tables since not surprisingly, there are higher scoring games. but it is on the machiavelli table (i'm 1 game away, space, which i submitted the other day, again using OCC so that i knew i'd get it and not trigger any others, so i'll have that event done at the next publish wheeeee).

i'm a big fan of the concept that to become a QM you're only competing against yourself. to top the QM tables and be highest on the list, sure, you're competing against others. but you can do the basic step, earn yourself a spot on the list, without ever having to hope for someone else to have worse luck than you or somesuch; their results are in their QM universe, and mine are in my own. and you don't even have to get a certain base score, you just have to get a win. it's spiffy (IMO).

edit: i realize reading that again that it looks kind of harsh. i know that folks at the top of the QM table don't sit there and go "oh i hope the others on this table all lose so that i can win" that's not what i meant. i myself am just not good enough to score higher than the experts without incredible luck so i phrased it that way is all. i like that *i* i don't feel pressure to sit here and have to think that way, it would make me feel mean. but i don't mean to imply that you're all meanies that think that way. part of what i love here is how generous most are about posting tips and helpful advice, which is totally the illogical thing to do if you're trying the high spots to yourselves! it's definitely a "friendly competition" in the bestest way.

OCC is very different from usual games, but i find it really fun, it's kind of my latest addiction (i blame and simultaneously thank WastinTime). given how the game scoring formula is based on population, etc, it won't tend to give you high scores, so if the score number is important to you in and of itself and not just as far as qualifying for QM, then you'd probably not like it. if you're like me and often completely ignore your score, then maybe try it again see if you like it. to each his or her own.

in any case, i forgot to say ... have fun and welcome to HoF! :)
