Just wondering... Does anyone get a Memory Allocation Failure when saving the game in the later eras of Rhye's? Sadly, I do. :(

View Full Version : Anyone gets MAF when playing Rhye's? Lone Wolf Mar 10, 2007, 03:51 AM Just wondering... Does anyone get a Memory Allocation Failure when saving the game in the later eras of Rhye's? Sadly, I do. :( Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 03:53 AM I do sometimes, but I just assumed it was my computer =[ Lone Wolf Mar 10, 2007, 04:01 AM So I am not alone here, at least... Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 04:07 AM It usually happens late in the game, so I always try to angle for an early victory. Rhye Mar 10, 2007, 04:51 AM is your option MemSaver in the ini setted to 1? Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 04:53 AM Yes. Is that a problem? Rhye Mar 10, 2007, 05:13 AM possibly.... Talkie_Toaster Mar 10, 2007, 05:20 AM hm, but if I take it off the loading times become unbearable. kairob Mar 10, 2007, 10:44 AM whats memsaver? NitroJay Mar 10, 2007, 12:22 PM According to the config file, the memory saver "allows some memory savings" but disables alt-tab fuctions... You can change it from it's default (0) to 1 to turn it on, but if you try to minimize the game or switch to another application while playing, the game crashes. Also, you cannot change the screen resolution with memsaver on... It DOES make things faster... However, I too have experienced a memory allocation error message from time to time with loading save games. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it though... Some late games saves crash, others don't... Right now, I have it turned off. With the latest version, the loading times aren't as bad as they used to be and having a more stable game, with the added advantage of being able to alt-tab to read my email or chat, is worth more to me than having the turn times shortened by 20 seconds or so. Lone Wolf Mar 10, 2007, 12:35 PM So, turning it off helps to make that MAF thing LESS unbearable? I throught that it, on the contrary, saves me from MAF a bit... life's werid. |
