Disclaimer: this Paradox piece is banned in China, don't ask me how I get this copy.

After stonyroad.de 's heavy modding, German Reich start with a lot more events and dormant divisions, with newly modded SS and Elite Corps brigade. Also Karl Donitz will bring unterseeboot-krieg (sp? Submarine Warfare) to a whole new level.

In the early stage, I pressed Anschluss, Treaty of Munich, and tried to partition Czechslovakia with Hungary on Feb. 1939, but Benes refused. Soon, while Wehrmacht were busy shooting spires of Prague, Poland tried to cut a piece of Reich, and declared on me.

In this urgent situation, von Ribbentrop took a special flight to Moscow, and talked with Molotov about current German-Polish war. In order to finish the Poles faster, the Reich offered Eastern Poland, Baltic States, Moldova and Karelia Finland to Soviet Union, and Molotov recognized Greater Prussia as part of the Reich in return.

On May 1939, Poland was wiped off the map, while Chamberlain and Lebrun were bragging about their peace mongering skills, Germany is busy for a new war.

In order to make an interesting game, I choose democratic ,free market, and open society on almost every possible situation. My army is rather small.

Three days before the Winter War, Constantin, Foreign Minster of the Third Reich, payed a short visit to Helsinki. In order to convince Finns, he brought a small blueprint of Luffwaffe fighters, as a gift to White Finland against communism infiltration, also he said, "Reich wouldn't risk Finnish lives."

Stalin lost his temper in a military parade in Leningrad. "Why are those capitalist Finnish army patrolling on the northern border of our great city after the name of our revolutionary mentor Lenin? Let's bring them a hard warning."

Telegraph from Moscow to Helsinki was the shortest one in Guinness Record. It's a "K", which means Finnish Karelia. The Finnish reply was only one word, "snipers".

The Winter War began. On Helsinki Daily, a slogan of world volunteer recruitment is "Try winter hunting here!" with a big sniper rifle and an aim. Namely, every country in the League of Nations, except Sweden, where Paradox Interactive has taken a firm role of isolationism, offered volunteers for the winter bear hunting.

On April 1st, 1940, the Munich Conspiracy Times has a small editorial review about April Fools Jokes this year (last year is about the infallible Polish flag in Warsaw). This year those funny Bavarians are making fun of low countries.

Belgium’s days are numbered. Almost everyone in the country knows it. Nevertheless, last December 13th RTBF, Belgium’s French language public television, created an enormous stir when it broadcast a fake news bulletin announcing that Flanders, Belgium’s Dutch-speaking northern half, had declared its independence. The programme, an idea of journalist Philippe Dutilleul, had the numbers of RTBF viewers double within minutes. Worried viewers rang RTBF for further information, the RTBF website crashed under the number of visitors, while foreign embassies in Brussels called the office of Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt to find out whether the country still existed.

Flanders are independent now, and a bunch of funny dressed Germans are bringing sausage, beers and party gliders to Liege.

Suddenly all hell breaks loose.

The sausage caliber and petroleum beer bottle fire at Liege's fortress Eben-Emael, which is taken by surprise in three hours.

In the initial phase of the western campaign, a handful of elite German commandos, especially trained for the task, landed with silent gliders and subdued the respected Belgian fortress and its garrison of almost a thousand soldiers.

The air-ground combined assault only lastS three hours before the Belgian defense of Liege collapse.

France and UK are feeling gravely insulted and declared on the Reich.

Puny Luxembourg feels that 2/7 of Benelux was violated, and the their 3/7 should fight against German liberation of the great Flanders National Socialist Republic.

I can't understand why the duchess Charlotte organized such old-fashioned army which is equipped with antiques fairly common seen in Prussian military museums.

Actually the cheating AI in HSR is crazy, I'm thinking about cleaning the spamming of free units for AI.

Edit: And this

I hate to replay the game, but I did.

I found HSR has a very gamey path: choose "Partition with Hungary" in End of Czechoslovakia event, and Czechs will probably fight. Hungary will ask for alliance but I can refuse them. When Germany declared on Czechs, the Poles will probably declared on Germany due to GoI, which makes Poles alone to stand.

The M-R pact will fire twice, and you can still get Danzig as your core. Now that Poles are alone, you can puppet them, get whole Prussia, keep their army and Eastern Poland, and directly pose a threat on Soviet Union (in HSR Poles will not secede eastern Poland to Soviet Union), another good thing is their claim on Byelorussia and Ukraine is still there.

So I invade Czech in Feb. 1939, ally with Hungary days later, annex and partition Czechoslovakia in March, puppet Poland in May, invade Benelux in July, and rolling into Paris in Sept.

When Poland decides to coup the puppet regime (the event has 39 day offset when Poland is a puppet of Germany), I let loose the mastery over poor Poles.
