WOTM 07: Cyrushttp://gotm.civfanatics.net/civ4games/images/wotm07civ.jpg

This game MUST be played in Warlords patch version 2.08. We will NOT accept any games played under any other patch versions, and you can't play it in vanilla (plain) Civilization4!

Further, it MUST be played using the latest version of HOF mod for Warlords. This is currently version 2.08.003 (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mods/HOF-2.08.003.exe).

Mac players can also join in using Warlords Rev A or B and Hof-Mac-2.00.002 (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=200451)

Game settings:
Civilization: Persia (Leader: Cyrus; Traits: Charismatic & Imperialistic)

Map: Pangea (modified)
Mapsize: Standard, Cylindrical
Climate: Tropical
Water level: low
Starting Era: Ancient

Cyrus:
Cyrus is Imperialistic and Charismatic; starting with Agriculture and Hunting. Imperialistic gives +100% great general emergence, and +50% settler production. Charismatic provides 1 extra happy face per city, -25% experience required for a promotion, and +1 happy face in each city with a monument and/or a broadcast tower.

Unique unit: Immortal (The Wheel)
The immortal replaces the chariot. The immortal exactly has the same stats as a standard chariot, but gets +50% vs archers, in addition to the standard +100% vs axemen & 10% chance of retreating from combat.

Unique building: Apothecary (Guilds, Currency)
The apothecary replaces the grocer. The only difference between this and the standard grocer is that the apothecary provides +2 health.

Ok - saves are now available. The GOTM homepage doesn't link to the "savea available" page, but you can go there direct via this link:

how can i get involved in one of these games? Do I need to download anything special. Just curious because I am trying to learn how to get more involved in the game. I have a friend who plays semi-frequently. I thought maybe we could do something like this together.

GOTMs are a solo performance. You can't really play with a friend except for discussion and advice. To play ...

- Warlords games are started on 15th of each month. Vanilla GOTMs start on 1st of each month. The closing date for submissions is usually a month later.

- Go to the first post in the Saves Available thread for the game you want to play. That links to the game release page on our web site, and links to the version of the HoF Mod you need.

- Download and install the HoF Mod.

- Download the starting save for the game.

- Play the game and submit your final save and replay file.

- Join in the spoiler discussion threads at the appropriate times

- Wait with bated breath for the results to be published.
