i made a civilization/mod in the tutorials section using the thread
HOW TO:Creat a civilzation.I followed all the steps and it does not
work. I was wondering if somone could take a look at it and see if
you could find anything wrong :help:

is this for vanilla civ or warlords?

good lord I havent seen that many problems with a civ in I cant remember how long. The good news is all is not lost and it should be fixable. From the best I can figure there is something in the begining of your civ that is causing all the problems. My suggestion would be to download a civ from the Downloads section. My suggestion would be the dorian Greece civ I made as it is probably the closest to what you want. And look at how the xml files are structured and edit the files where you need to. Thats how I learned, and from my experience it is the easiest way to create a custom civ. Anyway I will keep plugging away at this to see if I cant fix it, but I don't think Im gonna be done for a while.:(

EDIT: After spending the past 2 hours fiddling with this and getting nowhere Im thinking that it would probably be best and easier to begin from scratch with a custom civ as a template. I still think the Dorian Greece civ is the best option, as it includes Leonidas already and if you wish to have a spartan hoplite graphics Rabbit white made a Spartan hoplite for me when I first released this civ. Check his units library for the download. Sorry I couldnt be any more help, but the files are too corrupted for me to load and test, for every 2 steps forward I was making every time I loaded I made 3 backwards.:twitch: :wallbash: If this was my orginial work and I had worked on it from the begining I might have been able to fix it, but more than likely I would have started from scratch. From looking at you civ in vanilla I found much of the same errors I had in warlords :confused: go figure. Im still thinking that its the files that are corrupted, so I will work it from the begining again for you, it shouldnt take too long. atleast less time than it would to fix all the bugs! :p So hopefully I will have this done in the next day or so for u ;)

Also i have reskind Julius for Leonidas and a phalax, how do i add them to the civ

when i have finished the rework i will include some of my art work that I have done in the past. If you want to change it just change the art defines files.

ok so i have finished fixing this civ. I had to restart the civ with new xmls, from my Romania civ for vanilla. The plus side is you can see everything I have edited really easily. All that you will need to do is change the civilopedia entries, and then add your city list to it. If you want different art work its and easy process to fix.

thank rabbit white for the spartan, he made it for me when i first released my dorian greece civ. :)

I want to change the leaderhead. I deleted all the files and put in reskind Julius in. When i started the game and when to sparta, the game shut down. So do i have to change some of the things in the XML files to chang the cyrus to a reskind julius.

When i did that, my leader was there, but he was like a picture. He did not move or anything. Im off to school but im not sure what the problem is
