I know there were a number of people that spoke out against the speed of the last poll, however the citizen's initiative requires that this sort of poll operate on majorities, not pluralities, it also mandates runoffs in order to reach a majority decision.

Because none of the options (including none of the above) reached majority status another vote is required.

Also I would like to suggest that we change the citizen's initiative, we should modify it such that plurality decisions are acceptable, in this way we can select names without endless run-off, as seems to be happening here, and if none of the choices are acceptable a return to discussion will occur sooner. However that's a different discussion.

The poll will last 3 days and there will be no run-off after this one, either we'll have a name or we'll have followed the initiative and can return to discussion.

I hope we'll keep voting none of the above until the game is finished :p

None of the above till the end of the game? That would drive me insane I'm sure.;) I hope we get this sorted out sometime before then. Heck we're about to found the second city we're going to have to name that one too eh?

I agree! I'm actually growing rather fond of None of the Above as the actual name of our capital.

I will propose "None of the above" as our capital...lets get a second and use it.

I second it.

It'd be an interesting poll, as we'd have two options labelled "None of the Above".

I'd would have to be without spaces though, I believe that a cities name can only have 15 characters.

That was going to be my suggestion when it went back to discussion. "None of Above" -13 characters

I could definitely support none of the above, or a derivative, as a city name, tribute to our grand and infallible polling process :)

Yah! Count me in!

But seriously, unless a group of people push and vote for a name, our capital will end up being called None of Above :crazyeye:

Man, what is the Elder's and Chieftian's view on this? :mischief:

I think its a great idea. This name symbolizes the true spirit of democracy, indecision. :D

Hehe, I second NOTA, if None of the Above wins, we'll end up refering to our capital as this anyway so why not make it the name.

It looks pretty clear, based on previous turnout, that this poll is going for none of the above so I'll open up the new thread now, I'll include the suggested city names from this thread.

P.S.

Dave, that is the most amazing emoticon ever

will it include Noni Abova?

note that the itallic letters are important because it gives the names a more latin look...old and antique. :)

You're happy to suggest it there if you choose. I decided to just post the thread and mention that the general idea of "None of the above" was suggested here, but a shortening of it would be necessary to avoid the character limit.
