Hi everyone,

We're looking to start a casual PBEM tournament. The idea is to have a map made and have several games going all using the same map. Winners will play each other for the championship. For example, if we get 16 people to play, we'll have 4 games in the first round, four players each, all using the same map. The four winners will face each other on a different map.

If you're interested in playing please let us know here. Please use (or open) other threads in this subforum to discuss other aspects of the proposed tourney.

I'll try to keep this first post updated with a current lilst of those who have signed up.

I think if we could just get one more signed up we could get two games going. We could add additional games as DaveShack suggested. if no one else plays we'll just have the top 2 from each board (or the overall top 4 scorers) play for the championship.

well... I've been contemplating it..... But never played multiplayer, and I think I'd probably be an easy target... not to mention my inability to play for 4 days at a time :ack:

No, we're going to use regular vanilla [civ4] since some of the participants do not have Warlords.

I'd say it's not a joke either. Rik Meleet's post a while back in the Civ II MTDG was an indication that something big was afoot.

I fall for this stuff every time. :hammer2: But Rik Meleet did set us up for this a few days before hand. It was nicely played.

Just letting you all know, that DeafDolphin has informed me via email that he is quitting CFC, all games (such as SGOTM4 Team Smurkz). You all might want to contact him via PM or email to see what his plans are about this game. From my understanding of his emails, he's out here too.

All these suggestions sound good to me, but I'd prefer to have a smallish map, so 3 players is probably better. The turn-around time of the save will be shorter, and my computer might handle it until the end.

That does sound like an interesting possibility Conroe. Well, I'm up for just about any format. Once we get the first round going we can decide what form the second round will take.

Yup we're on our third turn now I think.

yeah 3rd or 4th turn. I held the game up for a while due to some work/weekend/Birthday distractions.
