Well, just another of my opinions/suggestions/ideas :D

I just think that "Summer Palace" is veeeery silly... not because you can build it in cold places, but because it doesn't have anything "wonderful"... it is just a vacation place.

What about change the name to Nobility/Aristocracy Palace? it is better than a summer palace...

PS: i know that there is a Summer Palace in China and in others countries... but Nobility Palace is better. ( and resembles the Versailles Palace that the wonder was build on ).

I think Summer Palace is fine. It just is a name for another seat of government. Nobility Palace just sounds awkward to me.

how about giving them civ-specific names??? ZOMG... Like Versailles (Fra) or Dacha (Rus), Sault Ste-Marie (Canada) - oh, wait, Canada is not a civ... yet.

:mischief:

Canada would be boring. They're all about being friendly and getting along.

Nobility Palace seems awkward in English, maybe Nobile [edit- even my English is off :) I meant "Noble"] Palace might make more sense, but "Second Palace" like "Forbidden Palace" could work and why not "Palace of Versailles" like Forbidden Palace- without Chinese history/culture as context the name Forbidden makes no sense at all. I like Winter Palace myself, like the infamous one of the Tzars in St. Petersburg

Yeah, in Portuguese the name sounds good, but I really don't know in English =p.

I think that National wonders can't have any name of a especific civ ( that's way isn't Wall Street anymore, it is Stock Exchange ).

But Summer Palace is very bad XD... i just don't know, it doesn't fit well for me =\ maybe in Portuguese it has a "weird" meaning ^^"

Maybe a Québec libre would be more in line with the game's spirit, then? :p

as a minor wonder, it must have a generic name.
Many "civs" had their own Summer Palace, more than the Winter one

Okay... =\ with isn't strange to others people... okay.

The problem for me is that I image something like a king in shorts at the beach T_T drinking beer...

But okay, then. :)

I think summer place is fine.
As ryhe wrote many cultures have it, it's rather generic.

Somebody metioned the russians...
They have both summer and winter palace:
The Tzar's winter palace is in the center of St. Petersburg and now known as Ermitage museum.
The Tzar's summer place is outside St. Petersburg, on the gulf of Finland.
It's now know as Peterhoff.

Almost all absolute monarchies had summer+winter palace... even the Pope had them. :)

Would the Americans' Summer Palace be Camp David or Crawford Ranch? :p
