The problem I had with the Eldar is that they have so much stuff; I had a hard time Craming it all into the lines. Several units, nomially avilable to all Eldar craftworlds, had to be used as UUs.

Since Muffins made his space WH 40K models available on turbosquid, and if they are in a similar format to the Galbadian Elite trooper (which I believe they are), then It should be possible to import them into Bryce like I did with the elite trooper, add horns and spikey bits to them and animate them......

Which brings me to the question: which Space Marine type unit would you like "Chaosized" first? I'm planning on waiting until the WH 40K mod gets its turn for the themed competition before I finish the Ork Gargant... unless it ain't for a long time, in which I'll do that next.

Hmmmm... I dunno, the fact that you can import muffs old models makes me happy. Not only will we need Chay-Os versions of junk, but a few orky tings, some which hunter variants of Imperial gaurd stuff, and what not. My Current plan is to get some sort of base unit lines down in text format for the various civs, then make a fancy pciture or soemthing that says a priority of what we need and such. It'll be cool, I promise.

But that is only 40k, and I was thinking about superheavies (more Epic) and the only Epic rules I have here that are modern enough to even consider the question is NetEpic 4.0. So, I took my best guesses based on the Imperial Guard list. The mobile HQ of the Leviathan seemed to be the sort of thing Witchhunters woulod need, and the Knights seem appropriate for Deamonhunters.

Yes., they do, though muffins made some based on Battfleet Gothic Imperial Ships. I was thinking of using them more for the Imperial Gaurd than the Space Marines, so that thing (Assault Barge?) would be great for the Marine Boyz.

Well, I used a land-raider as a starting point for the model, and then made just something out of it. I could have gone that way too, but I wanted it to look more like a naval ship than just a troop transport.

Are you people even looking at my lists? I haven't got a single comment on some of them.

1: In general I would like to see some defensive units that have high enough def+HP to make them usefull to protect the fancy stuff (the way infantry have higher defence than tanks in the regular game. From your listed numbers Marines / IG / Witchhunters / Demonhunters seem to suffer from this.

2: Given the scale of the game, I think the lists should include more Titan/Superheavy units.

3: IG - how about Thud Guns

4: Whichhunters - how about orbital strike.

... I'll give some more uniformed opinions after taking another look at some codexes.

Heh, a Nob. Led Zeppelin actually played as "The Nobs" when they performed in Copenhagen, because Eva von Zeppelin (related to the dude who created zeppelins) has pissed at them for their cover art (the Hindenburg), so they changed their name for the performance.

Here's a preview of something I started doing while waiting for PM from Goldflash: an Ork Transport. It looks still a bit silly, but orks are that way. And it's still a WIP-image. I have still some things to add, like:
- chimneys (propably small ones on all those spheres in the back or only two larger ones)
- I think I'll propably have to change the colours around, but I'll wait for your comments on that one (maybe mostly grays on this one).

But I'm not sure about the rifle - it doesn't look like a sniper rifle - altough I have absolutely no idea what do future sniper rifles look like :). And I don't think that's such a big issue in the finished unit...

About the ork transport
This looks a bit better IMO. This is based a bit on an ork landa (I've seen a pic of it once)... But is the ork-head a stupid idea here?

Odin? What are the chances of you beefing up the Scouts a bit? I`mean, scouts are fully grown Marines, who are huge compared to "mortals" even without their power armour.

I think that Ultramarines are supposed to be the "vanilla" Space Marines, ie. they have all the Space Marines units, while the other chapters get "Unique Units" so to speak.

but saying that, i guess they do need a unique units for themselves, right?

EDIT: The only "UU" the Ultramarines have in the tabletop game (according to the UK 40K site) is the Tyranid Hunter, which i guess is kinda the same as what you said, right?

Well, considering Wyrm's instructions to request tanks, ships, aircraft, other vehicles etc. it would be wise to request a vehicle. Duh :p But probably one that would be relatively easy to make. so no troops near it (so no Ork trukks or buggies)

The units that we need (according to Gold's unit lines) that fit the bill are:
* Razorback (SM)
* Hunter AA (SM)
* Immolater (WH)
* Exorcist (WH)
* Gryphon (IG)
* Wave Serpent (Eld)
* Devilfish (Tau)
* Hammerhead (Tau)
* Skyray (Tau)
* Piranha (Tau)
* Raider (DE)
* Ravager (DE)
* Talos (DE)
* Battlewagon (Ork)

Of course there are the variations on units for the SM chapters UUs, but i think it would be best to get the "vanilla" stuff done first.

So, as i see it we have three options:

1) Try and finish off the needed vehicles for the Space Marines, Witch Hunters and Imperial Guard vehicles; or

2) Request a unit that we think we would have a hard time getting otherwise; or

3) The one we think would be the coolest :D

Personally, i would like to see the Hammerhead get made, or one of the other Tau vehicles, since i think Orky stuff iz best leff to da expurtz (aaglo ;))

But we should discuss it as a team :)

I like that idea. After that we would only need an Attack Bike (which is different to the regular bikes i assume), Scout Sniper, Psyker and Commissar to finish off Gold's vanilla line

Well, we have a looted baneblade by muffins, the basilisk doesnt really have to be changed, and the chimera probably would'nt need to change either

we have a squiggoth, boar boyz, wyrdboyz (orc shaman) and wild boyz (orc swordsmen)

the brute could even use the black orc graphics

outriders could probably use warbike graphics, the junkatrukk could use wartrukk graphics, and huntas could use shoota boy graphics. of course, different pedia pics would be great (like in the WH mod to differentiate mage units)

new units would be wartrakz (only one cos i could probably do a scorcha version like i did with the hellhound), Deff Koptaz, Mekboyz, Big Meks, Lootas, Cyboar Boyz, Trappaz, well, actually, all the ones i didnt mention before :)

so quite a few, it'd be great to get them all. the hunta, for example could be the same as the shoota boyz except for some feathers sticking out of a bandana or something.

of course, these are not essential, and some could be left out of the first version to make it faster

Uh... I'll get to him. I'm finishing my flamethrower dudes now (I swear this time!) so I'll finish the sniper after that) unless I get another crazy urge to finish a unit in a few hours (like I have been lately.) I have a decent prop for a sniper rifle, and I'm sure if I got off my ass I could find a good one. I'll finish him eventually, ;). Also, do you guys want him to shoot lasers or bullets?

After seeing Dawg's Spec Op, i thought that using the laser to "paint" a target for a missile would work very well for Tau Pathfinders and their marker lights, using them to direct railgun fire or something.

he made the ork boss earlier this year, which can be used as either a nob or a warboss, so depending on which one it is used for, the other needs to be done.

i think the one with the powerclaw you are thinking of might be the flash git? :hmm:

I think Lizzy's got it right here. I've done two orks with a power claw: flash git (the original) and a ork warboss/nob - I don't know which one would that be usable as (the derivate).

The great apple also made an ork in mega armour: it also has a power claw and a blaster of some sort (with a laser targetting beam :) )

And I'm not an old-one as far as I know. I'm not familiar with Khaine and dat bunch-o-pansies :p

I found some pics of various gun & battle wagons (including flak-one) on the forge world... and they look nothing like the war truk I already made... they're more like the battlewagon... so I guess I'll make some sort of crude tank for orks to be modified further to make ... stuff for orks :)

And the war scorcha should be a piece of cake to make too (from the war trak).

In my opinion, this is already looking better. The ork-plaque in the front looks crazy enough... atleast that's what I think.

And the size comparison to the wartrak - I think it's pretty close on the mark :thumbsup: ... or what do you think :confused:

I'm glad that Lizzy has been updating his post #135 in this thread - now I've added it to my sig, under tittle things for me to do. :)

Two-three years ago it seemed like an impossible task to have various ork klans, but now it doesn't seem too bad :)


About the warboss/nob -issue. The original post by Goldflesh mentioned the nob having a power-klaw... now the thing I've done you've placed as a ork warboss....

And looking at most of the pics of nobs & warbosses... I think you've (Lizzy'smenhood) got it right. Warboss has a power-klaw, and nobs have a choppa of some sort - unless they're packing a heavy weapon.

So maybe I'll just do a puny nob instead of 'uge warlord.
And a mekboy.
And a big mek.
And a looted basilisk.
And a flak trukk.
And a battlewagon.
And a loota.
And a skarboy.
And a gunwagon.
And a def kopta (that should be fun to do :) ).
And an outrider.
And a hunta.
And a madboy.
And a cyboar boy (that should be horrible to do :( ).
And a trappa.
And a looted chimera.
And a small shooty boat.
And a big shooty boat.

What's that... mere 18 orky units... that's nothing ;) :p

EDIT: BTW, I'm not sure if I've only had a dream, but is there somewhere a looted leman russ tank?

EDIT: Ignore me... the looted leman russ is already mentioned available as a default for oks.

Who's he? He looks mean... (I know who he is, the question's here just to make a funny comment... :rolleyes: )

Just one question: what's that on his other hand? The other is clearly a cruncha-klaw, but the other is... a juice mixer? Or is that a gun pointing downwards, with two large drum clips on top & side? I blame the bad angle picture :p

Yep, Mr. Nazdreg has a better weapon, but that's propably too fancy for Mr. Ghazghkull...
What plate? The one with a fist? I thought that particular fist design is used mainly by orks... well, hoo kares! It looks great!

The blasta is S: 7, AP: 2, Assault 1, Blast, and Gets Hot! as per plasma weapons, so a roll of one causes a wound to the shooter, armour saves allowed.

So... not knowing jack about WH40K-weaponology, that's a plasma gun? Or a fusion blaster? I still don't know which :lol:

One little advice to those who are thinking about rendering a lot of fire (with matching lights) with intention of doing it in a reasonable amount of time with pov-ray: Don't. :lol:

Buggy is finished, now rendering warscorcha. I'll post them both on a pack in a couple of hours.

Fusion Blasters are Tau. Blasta`s are Orky Plasma guns, IIRC. Not sure if the Fusion Blasters are Tau Plasma guns tho.

So, Tau are only using fusion blasters? Well, that's kinda new. Not even Eldar? Weird...

I wonder if this could be used as some sort of attack drone for this mod. I think this is so cool, and I just happened to stumble on it in the downloads section (haven't seen it in the unit forums at all :eek: )

- autoproduces units every turn. Sometimes even more of them at once :D

I have a question for you guys. What UUs should the vanilla civs have?

For example, if we were to make the Killa Kan the Freebooterz UU, then all the other clans would have Killa Kans able to start Golden Ages. same with the ultramarines, if we used a default unit.

someone (cant remember who off the top of my head, sorry :() suggested a Tyrannic War Veteran for the Ultramarines UU, which is just about the only unique thing they have, but since the Nids arent in the mod (yet, anyways ;)), that seems a bit odd.

the Freebooterz could have 'Ard Boyz rather than Skarboyz i guess (since i love my 'ard boyz and would like to seem them in :D)

Ultramarines: Terminus pattern land raider? (was that the landraider with 5 las cannons?)

And I really don't know well enough of those different ork klans. Or as the matter of fact, any of the WH40k-"civs". I'll have to study more on them :)

By vanilla i meant the "default" civs (such as the Ultramarines, Freebooterz and Ulthwe) that have all the default units, and the other "clans" all have lists based on the 'vanilla' one
