I am receiving the following error messages when i attempt to install civ iv on my macbook.

I suspect you may not be "installing" the software, but just double clicking the application file on the DVD. To install it, you need to drag the entire Civ4 folder from the DVD to the hard drive - I put it in /Applications/. When it has copied across to your hard drive then double click the hard drive copy of the application

Thanks - i was dragging the civ iv icon, not the folder.

Makes a big difference
