I guess the code from civs spawning date is some of the Python files. But why you want to make all civs spawn at 3000 BC? Remeber that civs are balanced so later civs are in equal conditions. If you make them spawn at the beggining, they will be overwhelmingly powerful. America will win 9 of 10 games, I guess, rivalrizing with the Turks.

hello,

I have the same question marks ??

Besides it is not that easy to change the whole event manager.
See the entry of civs come with some code that is forcing other cities and units to join the new civ .. this would overlap if all civs start at 3000, besides you need to revamp the whole starting conditions of each civ (and we talk about 24) because it is no fun to let the Americans start with 18th equipment in 3000 BC :)

One of the main features of the mod is the staggered, historical starts. If you spawn the civs at the same time, a central element (and alot of Rhye's work) is lost.

It is a very good balanced mod with technologies discovered at somewhat accurate years which I think makes it a fun mod to play and maybe its wishthinking to make all civs spawn at the begining of the game with same conditions. In my chinese game starting 3000bc I did everything I could without cheating to be the first civ discovering gunpowder and I saw myself "blown" away by european civs starting with more advanced technology and therefor they had a tech advantage. Sure maybe REAL history was like that but I still would like to play this mod where all civs start at the same time and that techs are discovered at somewhat historical periods. But maybe it will only be a wish. But I have to say that I havent played a better balanced mod than this one. It is a great mod Rhye! :crazyeye:

Play on Viceroy, and focus on Libraries with lotsa whipping.

or

Take the Elephants in the South, whip out a MASSIVE stack and ravage India, Persia, Arabia, Turkey, Greece, Germany, France, Rome, then Spain, then re-route to Egypt, Carthage, then Mali.

Problem solved.

Meh, you got to think outside the box. Nxt time you play, try re-enatcing the Sino-Roman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Roman_relations) relations. Since you want to bet he first to discover gunpowder, I'm assuming you're not going for the UHV. These tips will take you far away from the UHV.

-Beeline to Bronze Working
-Claim the southern Copper with your first settler
-Hunting-Fishing-Sailing
-Found your third city along the western coast.
-Whip a Galley. Send it off to Europe.
-Meanwhile, pump out 7-8 Spearmen (You can ignore the Barracks since they will have plenty of Barbs to gain experience from)
-Beeline to Alphabet
-Found your fourth, and final city (for now) in China.
-Discover Alphabet and you should have run into India, Persia, Babylon and Egypt. Trade your techs (Not Alphabet if you can avoid it).
-Grab Code of Laws then Beeline to Gunpowder. You should be able to trade for everything else you need.

The only thing you need to worry about is the Mongolian spawn in 1190AD. If you have 8 Pikemen/War Elephants up there, you should be able to wipe the Mongols out before they become a problem.
--------

Note: Tech trading works best if you go down the Liberalism route. In my last domination game, it was 1950 and only 4 civs (besides myself) had bothered with discovering Education. Paper, Philosophy, Education and Liberalism are all great trading fodder. Only a couple of AIs (England, India and America IIRC) will prioritize discovering Liberalism. And once the bonus tech is taken, even those civs will avoid Liberalism and join the other AIs in racing for Astronomy/Rifling before going back to the peaceful techs for Assembly Line.

Interesting tips Whitefire I will try to follow that strategy :goodjob:
Just one question: normal or viceroy???

Monarch or Emperor. I haven't touched lower than Prince since Civ. One of cardinal rules for high-level play is that you must trade techs.

EDIT: I forogt one last tip.

DON'T ADOPT A RELIGION

I can't stress this enough when playing an eastern civ. Most of your tech trading partners will be European, and they will all be Christian. If you adopt any other religion, they will stop trading techs with you.
