Hi,
I'm confused about the RFC - RFC++ relationship. Is the latest RFC++ based on the latest RFC, or did they diverge at some point? Or is RFC++ just an add-on that you install on top of existing RFC? Because I've downloaded RFC and now I'm unsure if I should get RFC++ as well or not...

RFC++ is a fanbased Modcomp. In other words, RFC is the "official" release and RFC++ is an "unofficial" alteration. I put those in quotations because Rhye welcomes players adding in new ideas. It's less work on his end .

I guessed that much, what I wonder is - if I take the latest RFC++, will it be based on the latest RFC? Or do I have to use the "pure" RFC if I want the latest version?

Pure RFC will be the clean download from Rhye, since our Holy Lord is the arbiter of all that is Pure.
Er, anyway, the modcomp is a fun twist on RFC. I would suggest you play some "clean" RFC games before trying the modcomp.

True, but I give up as I cannot think of any better way to rephrase my question...

Right now, RFC++ is based on and uses the base code from the most current RFC version. When the next update foir RFC comes out, it might take me a few days, but I will update the code for the new version.
In the first post of the RFC++ thread at the very top it says:
Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization Expanded
for BOTH Vanilla AND Warlords Civ 4 Rhye's and Fall of Civilization!
Currently at V.1.93-1.25 and W.1.43-0.10
the
V.1.93-1.25 and W.1.43-0.10
numbers denote version, with the first x.xx being the Rhye's and Fall of Civilization code used to make the second x.xx version of RFC++
in this case it uses the code from the 1.93 build of vanilla RFC and is on version 1.25 of vanilla (oxymoron anyone?) RFC++ , while it uses version 1.43 of the Warlords RFC code for version 0.10 of the Warlords RFC++.
