You'll need to request membership into the C4DG group. See the first post in the Citizen's Registry thread!

Cheers. Wasn't sure if I had to wait for clearance via that thread before I could request joining but i've done it now.

Unfortunately, if I'm remembering correctly, during an election no citizen who has requested registration will have it accepted until after the election is over. In other words, during the three day voting period you cannot become registered to vote.

I can't remember where this came from, but recall hearing it several times. Does anyone recall where this is stated?

I vote for Grant. It will give him experience of this demo game. Because we all know he needs it bad ;)

I'm not disputing the fact I can't vote, it's fair enough because otherwise you could have loads of epople who don't normally particpate voting and also, the risk of cheating.

I was merely making the point that I couldn't vote which maybe hinders me slightly but with the current results....it is immaterial:lol:

Thank you for your vote, NKVD, I'm very excited to get some more experience in the game, I didn't expect to do very well in this poll considering I'm running against such excellent candidates however at the time this post is being made I'm only one vote behind the leader. So it might be a good time to say what I would do if elected.

As we all know our second city is placed on a river and has acess to two squares of flood plain, two sources of gold, and a source of horses. The horses are about to be contained within a pasture, and the worker has been ordered by the current elder to work the floodplains within our borders. It is unclear how long this worker will be at our city's disposal. If the land near Falcon's Haven isn't improved sufficiently for our near term growth it will be one of my priorities to push for the construction of a new worker. I assume the capital will be occupied producing settlers to expand our empire, therefore the responsibility for the production of this worker will fall on Falcon's Haven.

My goal for the development of our land would be to produce enough farms so that our city will be able to comfortably support two specialists. This number would increase when we discovered biology (that’s a very long term goal though). I’ll also make sure our gold source is mined.

I believe that our city should become a financial and research center so I’ll push for construction of buildings which boost those, libraries should become available soon, that will be a priority. Also I will lobby for the founding of Confucianism in our lands. Falcon’s Haven will have a decent chance of becoming the holy city if we found this religion, and that will boost our financial abilities in the long term.

Finally I do want to make clear, all of the things I’ve suggested here are of course not set in stone, the power lies with the citizenry as a whole, and even if elected I wouldn’t have the right to overthrow the will of the people. Therefore before each turnchat I will open a discussion about the business of Falcon’s Haven, as the other elders have done in the past.

Somehow I seem to recall that it has something to do with "The Alphawolf Scandal". Don't know for sure though.

A tie? :mischief:

No, not yet, as I still haven't voted. This race has me confused on which one to vote for, so I'm still hesitating. I didn't even realize it was so close since I haven't been paying attention to the votes!

:eek a tie!

Well.... Methos.... I did vote for you after all :mischief:

However odds are so did Robboo.... or he could lie and say he did.....

Anyway up to you Methos (or random other citizen that didn't say they haven't voted yet), I think either of us would do a good job though.

That's pretty premature, we have +12 hours to go.

What's the use of private polls if people run their mouth off by mentioning the virtual score result before a poll has finished by the way?

well we may have a number of hours before closing, however I haven't seen the numbers change in quite a while, I assume there's a run-off if we do actually end up in a tie, or do they have to share the position, that could be fun :)

What's the use of private polls if people run their mouth off by mentioning the virtual score result before a poll has finished by the way?

Like I said... random other citizens.... Methos is not neccissarily the deciding vote... he may vote... then someone may vote for someone but then 3 more people may vote for someone else making Methos' vote not the deciding vote...

I'm not declaring victory, I am not declaring defeat, nor am I declaring Methos is necessarily the deciding vote...

With the poll still open anything could happen, I don't think any thing I said was "premature" though, as I was not claiming "the result is _____"

Just essentially asking for Methos' vote and the vote of all others, and stating that the two leading candidates in particular I think would be good at the position. That's not to say I don't think either Shattered or Grant wouldn't do a good job either...

And while it is possible Grant or either Shattered could get enough votes to reclaim the lead, at this point most voters have voted and there are normally just a few hold outs.

~sigh~
didn't think I'd end up having to justify myself for that post...

Methos... and who ever else has yet to vote. Vote for who you think will do the better job with this city. I am not as vocal as some people( not any of you) but I do pay attention and read 99% of all post in this forum. Falcon will be my deputy if I do win as I know he has his own ideas of what this city needs. He and I ( I hope) disagree on some of it so we can discuss and learn from each other so that our citizens benefit.

As far as who I voted for in other elections...I can only tell you I voted for my self...all other votes are for me to know...I never post who I voted on unless I am trying to use MY own influence in certain elections BUT in those cases its usually me trying to prevent someone from getting elected instead of wanting a certain person.

You should vote for me...because you all wish you had my job. I get to ride in boats 3 to 4 days a week and shock fish to calculate population sizes.

On a side note I want to make it clear the first part of my earlier post, stating who I voted for in the Chieftain election, was stated out of humor.

I fully desire, and expect that will NOT to be anyone's motivation to vote one way or another, either for or against me.

I'd rather have someone vote against me, then to vote for me because I voted for them, or their candidate.

As robboo said, I want people to vote based on their own beliefs on which candidate they feel would do a better job.

You can never be too careful when the privilege of voting is at stake. That was my point of view when I wrote my reply to you Falcon02 and I still think it's important to remember that, before we put the Invalidation Poll of 1680 to a test.

Thanks dutch..Never left. I hope to lead our city to success. My ideas will be announced in a thread later tonight/tomorrow.

Falcon ...do you want the deputy position. I will be out of town for 3 days and will need someone to watch over the city during that time.

I'll perform your duties while your away if you wish, as your deputy. However I doubt it will be much of a problem this time round, since I don't expect the first turnchat of the first term will be during, or too soon after those three days are up.
